I was pacing back and forth, waiting for Seth to return with Triniti. Something told me to try her phone and she didn’t even pick up. That was an instant warning right then and there. My heart was pounding, causing my ear to ring. Damn it, why would it act up at a time like this. Everybody in the room just stared at me once I placed my hand on my ear.

“What’s wrong with your ear?” Aunt Nancy asked.
