Ada was still staring at the door which Ike had walked out of. She thought she had heard Ike’s mother ask her a question, but she could not understand what was said to her.
“Would you like some water?” Mma asked again and this time the question was clearer, but before Ada could move her lips, Mma gave her a cup of water.

Ike's povIke is sitting in the back of the car as the driver drives him and Ada to the cinema. So far they have both maintained salience and have not spoken to each other. He was still pissed at her for what had happened in her room earlier, but he could not stop thinking about how it felt to kiss her. Ikeโs povItโs been more than five minutes since Joy went to the bathroom and still, there was no sign of her. Ike was becoming worried and wondered what was happening. Could she have been kidnapped? Ikeโs povIke could hear faith arguing with Olu about not letting her enter the house. He gave instructions saying he did not want to be disturbed, but somehow he canโt seem to get away from her. Ada's povAda was not sure if she was just tired or really disappointed in how the room looked. She was not expecting much but what she was standing inside of was not a place any human could stay. The room was full of dust, the curtains looked so dirty like they had not been washed for days, the bed was not laid, the air conditioner seemed to be malfunctioning and to top it off, the television in the room was not working. Ada tried her best to not cry. Maybe it was a mistake to have left Ike. She has tasted the good life and now she canโt seem to adjust back to the kind of life she lived all her life.
