Entry 10: Unknown I

I hear voices, but I don't understand what they were saying. I don't have the strength to open my eyes nor move a finger... I felt helpless, weak and hopeless.

I don't know how many minutes or hours had passed when I regained my strength. My hands and feet were tied, I was lying on a hospital like bed when I opened my eyes.

I tilt my head from left to right , and there I saw the cab driver was sitting silently on the corner.

He looked differently, he looked young unlike the first time we've met.

He saw me struggling, "I see you're awake. Sorry to tie you up like that."

"Why am I tied? What do you plan on doing to me? Did you teleported me?" I angrily said as I continued struggling.

He took the chair with him and place it near the bed.

I looked at him as I stopped struggling form my chains.

He sat down, resting his head on his arms which leans on the chair's back.

"Samuel, you've been out for days." he said neutral, no emotions on his face.

What! How about Whitney?

"Don't worry about your girl, she's fine. Later we'll take her here."

How did he know?

"I can read your thoughts Sam. Sorry for being rude, I am Oscar. Have you forgotten me?"

I tried recalling my years, I never had any encounters with a guy named Oscar.

"Maybe you'll remember if I told you the name, Pietro" then he smiled.

That hits. Pietro was one of my schoolmate, I left school after Ms. Florence told me the death of my mom. I didn't knew he was still alive.

"I'm like you and Mr. Kinsman. I've been guiding you."

He stood up and his hand went to his pocket. He holds a silver key, it clinks as he inserts it to the lock that ties me. I didn't asked him why he's untying me.

After he unlock the last latch, I sat up. I rubbed my wrist that's been aching because of the pain.

I looked at him, I don't have the guts to speak. He sat again to his chair, "So, you're giving me a silent treatment. Okay. Listen up"

"After you left, my mom started to teach me the basics of time traveling. We were hybrids. My father was a mortal, and my mom is the other way around. I was very jealous of you when I knew you're a pure immortal. Hybrids can live longer if we travel through centuries, we cannot travel like yours. I tried searching why your mom died."

My eyes grew, when I heard he's looking for the reason of my mom's death.

"Why?" I asked him.

"Sam, you're an immortal. Pure immortal. Why would an immortal die, just because of pneumonia? I don't believe that your mom just died of being ill... There should be a foul play.”

"It's been a hundred of years...Your father lied to you. Even you doesn't know where he is. But I knew where."

"Where's my father? Please, tell me.”

"Cooperate with me and I'll tell you where he is."

I just nod. He stood up and went to the door, "Are you coming or not?"

I stood up and followed him. I still don't know this place, it was a long white corridor. It was very luminous. As we were walking I can't bear the idea he cared about my family, even though he's jealous.

I asked him, "Pietro... Why do you care about my family?"

"You're so naïve. You'll soon see."

He chuckled as we walked on the endless corridor.

“We’re almost there, Samuel.”

The corridor was very vast, I don't know when will we reach the end of this one.

The silence was so deafening. My ears ring, I can even hear my heart pounding.

"Hey, Sam..." Pietro started, he was in front of me. He didn't took a glance of me, he continued walking.

I lost my thoughts.

"When we got there, stay calm. They might take you as an opponent."

"Yeah, sure." I shortly responded

He stopped at a steel door with a lotus carved on the middle of the door, the knob was bronze and there was an “I.M” etched around it.

“Are you ready, Sam?”

I nervously nod. My palms were cold and sweaty, I don’t know what to feel. All emotions were swirling.

He turned the knob and the steel door creaked and it turned into lotus color. The place was different. I’ve never seen such in my hundred of years…
