Something pulled me from peace of dreamscape. Groaning, trying to get my eyes open, I fumbled around for my glasses. Found them when the tip of my finger pushed them off the night stand. Damnit. I managed to grab the remote to the lights. Feeling around I pushed a button. The sconces beside the bed come on with a gentle glow. Nothing seemed out of place. Listening I didn’t hear anything that seemed off. It was so quiet out here surely if there was something to worry about, I would hear it. Grumbling, I got up to find my glasses. If I left them on the floor, I knew I would find them in the morning when I stepped on them. Man, they had slid under the bed. On my knees, with my ass in the air I reached under the bed. Mentally I crossed my fingers that I wasn’t about to find anything weird.
Just as my hand wrapped around my glasses, I had the feeling of being watched. Carefully I backed out from under the bed. Trying to act casual I reached for my phone still charging on beside the bed. With shaking hands, I pulled down the top menu. Spinning as fast as my forty-year-old knees would allow I clicked on the flashlight function to see what was behind me. As the shadows shrunk from the light, the one by the door took on a human shape with a hat before disappearing. I laughed at myself. I knew better than to watch creepy things before bed. Knowing I wouldn’t be able to sleep until I checked things out, I slipped on my house shoes.
Using my phone’s light, I figured out how to turn the overhead light on. Nothing out of the ordinary in the bedroom. Bathroom was clear too. On my way down the stairs, I wondered what I was going to do if I found an intruder. I was naked accept the fluffy bigfoot shaped slippers on my feet. Maybe my lily-white body would either scare them or the glare if a light hit me would blind them. At the base of the stairs, I looked around. Again, everything looked how I left it. Checking the doors were all locked. Before bed I had checked the windows but, I double checked them again. Dry mouth led me to the fridge. I’d never heard of these fruit drinks but, I was craving them now. The one I pulled out this time was pineapple.
I hadn’t looked at the label before. They were locally crafted and bottled at one of the nearby wineries. Definitely would be taking a couple of cases of these home. Hoped they had shipping. I took a moment to stand at the window wall looking at the moon high in the sky. It was full. There was just enough light to see the outline of the tree line. Given that nothing seemed wrong in the house, I had to assume I’d probably been woken by a critter. Or possibly my own snoring. Chuckling at myself I went back upstairs.
Back upstairs, I used the restroom then crawled back into bed. This time I took care to place my glasses where they wouldn’t fall to the ground so easily. Using the remote, I turned off the sconces. As I laid there waiting for sleep to take me, my eyes adjusted and with the light of the moon I could make out shapes in the room. I was startled as my eyes drifted they landed on a human shaped shadow again by the bathroom door. Seriously? No more creepy shows for me. Sighing I started to roll over. Only to find that I couldn’t move.
Frantic I again tried to roll. Nothing happened. I tried to sit up. Still nothing. My phone. I needed to get my phone. Scared now, I tried to reach my phone. My arms wouldn’t move. My breathing was getting rapid. The only thing that would move is my eyes. Oh God. Why can’t I move?
From the corner of my eye, I saw it. The shadow moved from the doorframe towards me. It was an ambiguous huge male human shape with a hat on its head. There wasn’t enough light for me to see. Once it reached the bed, it stopped. Less than a foot from me and I couldn’t make out any details. Just the outline. My heart was racing, and my breathing was ragged.
Male knuckles traced my jaw from my ear to my chin. The touch was gentle. Intimate even. A husky, seductive chuckle filled the air that still smelt of the candle. “I know what you need little gazelle.”
The shadow shimmered. Now I could see the details. He was at least six foot two. Dark skin, bald head, and wearing jeans that clung to his muscled legs. An unbuttoned dark purple shirt displayed his taunt chest. The moonlight showed his beautiful smile as he leaned towards me. I tried to speak, but nothing came out. “Shhh. I’m going to make it all better.”
“Who the fuck are you?” I heard Rich snarl as I stepped onto the white marble flooring in the front hallway. Through the glass wall, I could see Rich standing on the front porch. In his hands I could see a brown paper bag. Had he somehow gotten our lunch?Scoffing caused me to turn to look at the demon in the hall. Caspian was leaning against the doorway. Arms and ankles crossed nonchalantly. I wasn’t fooled by the casual stance. He was primed to attack. Concerned, I hurried across the tile to stand beside my demon.“What are you doing here Rich?” I demanded, while placing a soothing hand on Caspian’s arm. Rich’s eyes zeroed in on my hand. “What are you wearing?”It took serious effort not to scoff at his attire. Black oversized sunglasses were perched in his gray recently cut hair. A checkered green and red polo paired with khaki shorts that stopped just below the knee. White ankle socks with green crocs were on his feet. He looked like he had googled Lake Chic. His brown eyes had an
I tilted my head backwards to look at the angry demon looming over me. Thunderous was a good word to describe his face. His brows were drawn tightly, his mouth pulled into a sneer. The scariest was his eyes. They were red. I’d never seen them red. Vaguely I recalled that show on shadow people talking about how they had red eyes. Was his anger so strong it was disrupting his magically constructed body? Those red eyes moved from the monitor to me when I didn’t answer him. My fear must have shown on my face. He closed his eyes for a moment. When he opened them again, they were their usual alluring brown orbs.In an attempt to sooth him, I placed my hand over his that was on the back of my chair. “He’s trying to get his job back. As the Vice President of Compliance, I’m part of the conversation as to if they are eligible for hire. I’m trying to block him, but he was a favorite of some of the higher ups before he left.”I clicked open the email to see what Rich had to say. As expected, it
I drifted off with Caspian’s hand stroking my hair. His heartbeat lulling me to sleep under my head. Nearly asleep, I felt Chubbers walk across me to lay down on his chest. She started purring when he scratched her head. Tramp. The alarms blaring woke me the next morning. Caspian’s arm was draped over my waist. I turned to snuggle into his chest. Mulberry wrapped around me. Strong arms wrapped around me. I nuzzled his neck. A soft kiss was placed on my head. Perhaps it was time to retire. Going to work when someone this sexy was beside me seemed to be a crime against nature.Nature called so I rolled out of bed reluctantly to answer. A long hot shower was what I needed. I lathered the vibrant hair protecting shampoo into my hair. It took longer to work the conditioner through my thick long locks. Looking at the red streaks, it might be time to touch them up. While the conditioner worked magic, I washed my bits and shaved anything that needed it.I st
He gave a quick bark of laughter. Then pulled me to him to kiss the top of my head. “You.”You? That’s all he’s going to say? I raised an eyebrow. Confusion had to be written on my face. Taking pity on me, he continued. “Beautiful, I told you.” He waved at his body. “This is all you. Your soul shaped my appearance, including, my scent.”I blinked. Furrowed my brow. How could I create this incredible man? “So my soul choose to make you smell like mulberry?”He nodded. “Do you have any special attachment to the scent?”I started to shake my head. But then, a memory floated from the all but forgotten side of my brain. “When I was a kid, my mom gave me some tins.”Thoughtfully I explained about those tins. They looked like old timey tins that goods would have been sold in. For the life of me I couldn’t remember what the pictures were. Just that they were metallic
I tugged his mouth back to mine. Kissing him deeply, passionately. Then, I pushed him towards my breast. My nipples need his talented mouth. Chuckling again, he followed my demand. He latched on to a nipple. Swirling his tongue around it. Lightly grazing it with his teeth. I moaned in need.Pulling away from me, he switched up our positions. His mouth at my greedy hole. My mouth lined up with his impressive manhood. Without hesitation I swallowed him down. My tongue lapping at his length as I took him into my throat.I heard him moaning in ecstasy. Loving the sound, I pulled my head back, leaving the tip in my mouth. I lavished it with attention. Sucking and licking the sensitive skin. The deep sounds coming from the sexy man over me had me arching against him.Suddenly his tongue was exploring my soaking slit. His beard rubbing roughly on my delicate flesh. Moaning with the pleasure his attention was bringing me, I swallowed him down again. To show his apprecia
Under me, I felt him chuckle. Not the expected response. His hand pulled my head down to kiss me again. Tenderly his lips moved on mine. Not demanding entry, almost reassuring me. Satisfied with my response, he pulled away. “You are the only one that I have been with physically. All others were on the soul plane.”I smiled in amazement. How could I be the only one this gorgeous perfect man had truly touched? Sitting up, I kissed him deeply. For a moment our tongues danced together. His arms wrapped around me, pulling tight against him. Our chests pressed together. The beginning of a bulge nudging me. When we pulled apart, he gave me a quizzical look. “How many men have you been with?”It was my turn to stiffen. My eyes slid up to his. Those beautiful brown orbs bore into my blue ones. I sighed. Welt. I decided to give him the truth. “Not sure. I don’t have notches on my bedpost. If I had to ballpark it, I’d say around thirty.”“Thirty?” His deep voice sounded higher than normal. I co
Vivienne POVI wrapped up the rest of my workday in an oddly normal fashion. Once the laptop was secure, Chubbers followed me down the spiral stairs. The house still smelled like whatever Kerrigan had used to make it smell like a pina colada. Thinking of the imp made me shake my head. My day had started with an imp in the kitchen, jumped to being fucked against a wall, and now it was just me and the cat. Odd day.In the kitchen I wandered to the fridge. I haven’t been grocery shopping in a while so who knows what I will be able to throw together for dinner. My mouth hung open in shock at the bounty I found inside when I opened the aqua colored door.Fresh veggies and fruits filled the drawers. The shelves were lined with drinks and condiments. Oh! And a cake. I pulled the cake out first. There was a reason I wasn’t a twiggy girl. Carefully I placed the plastic container on the marble island in the middle of the room.Eating directly out of the container, I wonder if there was milk in
He shimmered into his house in the demon realm. “Kerrigan!”“Yes boss?” They stepped out of the kitchen. Towel drying a whiskey glass. They were like a cat trying to convince you they had been lying there all day. Not popping out and causing trouble.“You were in the human world.” He glowered at his imp.“Whaaat?” They shook their head. “No way boss! Why would I go there?”He continued to glare. The fire snakes that made their hair were all looking anywhere but at him. “You spent the day at Vivienne’s. I know you did.”“Whaaat? No boss.” Lying was not their specialty. Even the snakes looked guilty. He just stared them down. They looked down at the lava floor. “I was just curious Caspian.” They kicked at the ground. “You spend so much time with her. You wear her man when you are here.”He sighed. They were right. He flopped on the couch. The palms of his hands pressed into his forehead. Glass pressed against his hand. Grateful he wrapped his hand around the offering. Bringing it to his
“Where is that imp?” Caspians demanded. His brown eyes were wide with anger. That perfect mouth of his was slightly upturned in a snarl.“Imp?” I inquired while stacking cheese and sausage on a cracker. From my viewpoint, I’d seen Kerrigan disappear just as Caspian had shimmered in. I sensed drama incoming.“Yes. Kerrigan. Yay high.” He held a large dark hand just above his belly button. “Dark skin, white tats. Firey hair.”“Kerrigan you say?” I nibbled on the cracker. He made a frustrated grunt. I waved my snack in the air like I was confused. “Not sure I know anyone by that name.”He moved to stand over me menacingly. “Oh? Then who made your snack?”His eyebrow rose like he was daring me to keep up the pretense. I didn’t answer, just took another bite. His eyes flicked to Chubbers plate. I tilted my head in defiance. “You want to do this the hard
