Chapter 8 Chapter Eight

Author: Kimberlycullen14
I sat on the edge of my nerves getting the best of me. After Killian suddenly announced to the Luna that he was intending to mate with me, things sort of went downhill. She, naturally, Luna Sarah, had thrown a fit, followed by a lot of not-so-pleasing words directed at me. Killian, of course, did not appreciate her constant ranting and tried to assert his "dominance" by growling at her so loudly that it was as if the house quacked. Then his personal guards restrained Luna Sarah, causing the male werewolves of the Red Hallow Pack to try and "protect" her, causing the kitchen to turn into a warzone.

And now I was here in the living room, in between Kilian and Andrew, who I had just found out was Kilian’s Beta, Luna. Sarah was sitting across from us on the love seat with her husband, Alpha Michael, who was nursing a large bruise on his chest. He was a bulky man with a tangled mopy mess of a beard and a drum for a stomach, but not quite as tall as Kilian. Kilian was exceptionally tall, a feature that I have grown to admire in that man.

The three pack elders had been summoned from their night’s sleep to tackle the events of today. They were tensely sitting on the large L-shaped sofa next to the large French windows. On either side of them, standing ever so still, were two Lycan guards staring into space.

It was deathly quiet. No one wanted to be the first to speak. I, on the other hand, wanted to run out. I wanted to tuck myself into my cozy bed and stare off into the snow and leave this awkward situation behind.

"Ehmm," Agatha, one of the elders, cleared her voice. No doubt she’d had enough of the testosterone filled room. "My lord, it is a pleasure to meet you once more," she spoke, tilting her head in submission towards Killian. He didn’t say anything. He remained still, staring coldly ahead. "I’m sorry for our Luna’s disrespect. You must understand, as the Luna, her instinct is to keep the pack together. That’s why she reacted the way she did. The girl by your side is a fragile one; Luna reacted out of concern. "

I held back my tongue. How dare she? I was not the defenseless creature that she was making me out to be. She didn’t even know me. And yet again, I felt the deep, scorching heat of my anger. I felt a hand on my thigh, the heat blocked by the fabric of my worn out dusty blue jeans. Killian was now looking at me. Had he felt my anger? I gave him a small smile, letting him know that I was okay, and he nodded and turned to face Agatha,

It was obvious that Agatha hadn’t appreciated the slight show of affection Kilian and I had given. It made me feel happy.

"My Lord, the girl is too young to be the Queen," Paul said. I knew Paul. He had been in charge of the Pack pups' schooling for decades. I remember him coming to the pack house on Sunday evenings to tutor Ivan, the alpha son, and Noah in their school work. He was a sweet man, but believed that a female wolf should be submissive and tend to her den. His words had rubbed a few females and males within the Red Hallow Pack in the wrong way. It even got to the point that all the women in the pack wanted to hang him by the boots. Even Luna wanted him hanged. That’s the one thing her and I can agree on.

"I have had enough of this," Killian spoke, and it was as if the whole room went dark. While everyone was shaking in their boots, I was relishing in his voice, Kilian’s voice was like honey to me, even in its harshest form.

"She is mine and she will come with me. If you want to object, then go ahead, but I must warn you to be careful because you don’t know what I might do."

"Lia doesn’t want to go," Luna said. Sarah’s voice stood out from the silence; it was clear that she didn’t want me to go.

"Genesis," a small, raspy voice spoke up. I winced at how my voice sounded. It was quiet but firm. I was aiming for proud, but it will have to do. "My name is Genesis, not Lia, Lia was the first girl, and she left with her mate three years ago. I’m not that young and I'm not a member of this pack.

My parents were from the Shadow Pack. You raided them and took their lands, the lands that are now yours from the east of here. I survived and went to live with my grandmother in the Dark Moon Pack across the river from here to the west of here that you also took.

'I was among the eighteen children that you had taken from that pack and brought here as slaves, Some of your pack members adopted; others became warriors in your pack. One became the next in line to be the Beta. Others found their mates and left. Five you welcomed into your pack and held a pack initiation ceremony for them. I am the only one left.

I have cleaned this house for the past eight years. You have hidden me in the attic. You let me work only at night. You don’t pay me. I have to eat your leftovers.

I am not a pack member. I do not have family here. The only family I had was killed. I have no friends. I have no reason to stay. I want to leave."

The silence was deafening. I turned in the bed trying to make myself comfortable, holding on to the sweet fog of sleep but it was slowly ebbing away. I grunted and turned to the other side. It definitely wasn't the bed, it was comfortable too comfortable. Or maybe it was the sound of the trees of the sunlight that was practically blinding me. I open my eyes giving up on the hopeless mission to stay asleep my mind simply wouldn't allow me to keep on sleeping. The room was different.I sat on the bed and looked around. The green and gold sheer canopy that draped the sides of the bed blurred my vision but I could see it. The wooden dresser, golden mirror a large mosaic tile-like carpet, are no doubt from the human world or the Pixie clans. The floor was wood; the large oak tree occupying a large portion of the room was in the middle. I look up and I can see the blue sky up above. An enchanted ceiling just like the one in my room in the high eleven towers but the whole room looked differen

The campsites made its way into my view and I smiled. Ler had taken me back. What was even better is that I could see the rows of tents and the figures beneath walking about doing their daily duties, they were still there.Ler’s arrival had caused a few to look up and now a small crowd was gathering in front of us. I saw him through the crowd he stood there next to Grod eyes wide and a smile on his face. Ler landed right in front of them and they came closer.“You’re majesty!” Faran called out urgently as he came closer and almost in an instant was by my side. The rest of the camp had gathered to see me, they stood around whispering and looking. Faran was about to touch me when Grod and his headless form came into view. I felt the cold hands snaking their way onto my waist pulling me off Ler and into his hand. The sudden movement made me hiss out in pain. The feeling of my leg being moved made it difficult for me to focus.Faran looked at my leg, face paling.“Witch!” He shouted to no

I felt cold extremely cold my body trembled. The darkness weighed heavily on my consciousness. I felt my heart flutter thumping rapidly beneath my chest, my mind trying to capture what little my senses could pick up. And everything came into focus. My eyes snapped open but I quickly shut them, the light burning my eyes, once I’d adjusted I opened them again.I saw green, I saw the crystal blue sky and I heard the sound of rushing water. I felt my hair floating around as if being pulled and swayed ever so gently by the river bed, my body lay in the shallow folds of the bank's rocks making my body ache. My lungs burned and I coughed, feeling the water that was trapped within my chest cavity. I tried to stand up but my body failed me and I fell back down and let out a groan. My leg something was wrong with my leg, I could feel the pain, it was strongest there I pulled up my head and struggled to look at it, it was stained with blood a large gash tip running up to the highest point of my a

The moon was full and the night was fresh, for the most part of the night we’d spent in waiting now the thunderous noise of growls, hisses, and snarls made their way across the valley. From our point of view, high above In the distant trees hidden beneath its shadows we could see them clearly. We could smell the blood decay.I could see everything from here, the feeling of the wind rippling through my feathers as my eyes adjusted to the movements down below. When I turn into an owl somehow everything felt clearer I could see everything, I could hear everything. I look down surveying everything, finding out what was there I hadn’t noticed Jeffrey, maybe he had been hiding somewhere.Nevertheless, it was time. I fly back to the tree line spotting Faran in the group of elves almost immediately. He nodded his head and I shift back landing softly on the heavy tree trunk“What did you see?” Faran asked.I leaped down and walked towards the rest of the warriors belowground. Will came out of t

The grounds were ripe with anticipation. There was so much tension in the air. For the past three weeks, we'd strategized and talked and fought on the right course of action. A week ago we found that the vampires and terrors were moving closer to the southern borders, they were heading towards the bear shifter packs, cutting off the second strongest shifters before coming for the Kings land.A group of lion shifters who barely made it out with their lives brought the news with them. We ride on today.I walk towards the camps shifters readying themselves for battle, elves, fae, and seelies readying their armor. I could see the fear in their eyes. They were all afraid. That I could see quite clearly. The tents were full, large wolves walking about, the others were scattered about, some reigning the horses, others having meals, some in a circle just waiting. I spot Faran at a far distance, he walks about almost in an aimless manner looking at everything, stopping occasionally to talk to a
