Chapter 12: Inquiry

Ishmael knew that he was going to have to face Lord Henderson. He dared not go back empty handed. If he did that would be a certain death. He walked back in the direction he came from. Right before the inn, he found Alyisha. There she laid, in the meadow. “For give me for not burying you, but I require your body.” His words were drowned out from the sound of the inn collapsing on itself. Ishmael did not flinch but remained heavy hearted. He did believe in any god, but he always respected the dead. This was going to be his only exception. He gently picked her up and carried her to his mount.

He dared not delay, for he was going to be in need of assistance. However riding with a deceased person was cumbersome and time consuming. He didn’t want to dishonor the dead. So he carefully placed Alyisha perpendicular to the mount, making sure not to let her fall. He jumped on the horse and carefully started his journey to Lord Henderson
