Chapter 22: The Young Igbo Boy

Igboland, 1810

The fallen palm tree was short, certainly shorter than a palm tree of its nature. James Blackwheel wore a dark cloak over his head as he passed through the fallen palm tree in search of Nwakaego and Nneka. It was nearly twenty years since he made his first mysterious attempt in Igboland and killed a revered chief priest in a manner that raised alarm in the whole of Igboland.

As he walked through a crowd of people gathered around a large wooden platform, anxiously waiting for a woman to arrive, he wondered how he would be able to get in contact with the woman without being noticed by the sea of unfamiliar faces surrounding the entire place. As he tried to focus on the woman and her possible grand entrance which was going to occur at any moment, he found himself being distracted by a young Igbo boy who was tying three broken sticks together with a thin rope. He was surprised by the speed of the young Igbo
