I followed the man into a narrow alley. I reduce my aura so he won't feel my presence. I don't know if I needed to do that for he's just an ordinary man, but I still did. The man's figure mixed up with the crowd in the busy road of the city. It won't be easy to identify him by sight, but not by smell. I was still able to follow him until he rode in a taxi. I know he's heading to Tucky Corporation. That ride will take him several minutes, and I just need seconds to teleport to reach there. This time, I know I don't need to follow him anymore. I stood by the side of the pavement and watched the taxi moving along with other vehicles.
"Akira, where are you?" Hunter spoke to me using our mind link.
"Nowhere," I answered.
"Come see me." There's urgency in his voice.
"Not now, Hunter. I'll just go back to you after I'm done with something." I told him.
"Alright, but I hope you connect with me soon. This is urgent." He said helplessly.
"Okay."
I wanted to find out what Hunter has to tell me, but firstly, I need to save Catherine and Isabel. I can't teleport here because lots of people are passing by. So I walked a little more steps until I reached an uncrowded part and immediately disappeared. I emerged in front of a huge warehouse. Nothing looks different here. I hear some worker's voices while doing their job as well as the grinding sound of different machines. A group of workers is coming my way so I hid in between the tall piles of sacks. These sacks contain pig feed. Tucky Corporation is one of the leading companies in pig feed production. I took a peek at them and saw eight men in their worker's suits.
"I'm not kidding, I heard grunts from the room at the far end of the warehouse." One man said.
"Dude, we produce pig feed but we don't raise pigs here. There's no way you'll hear grunts there unless it's some other grunts." The other man said and laughed sinfully. Other men laughed with him too.
"Crazy. But whether you want to believe or not. I heard something there. There were even cracking sounds like there's someone in there."
They continued talking and laughing while their silhouettes faded my sight. That must be where Catherine and Isabel are. I went out of hiding and walked inside the warehouse with big strides. Some sacks are piled neatly on both sides giving a narrow passageway that would only fit for one vehicle. However, when I was already inside, I saw a spacious space in the middle. I immediately hid again when I realized that someone was in the receiving area. Thankfully, he did not see me. I wandered my sight and saw a forklift and some other types of raising and transporting vehicles. This is like any usual warehouse but is much wider inside than I thought. If I heard it right, according to one of the men, there's a room at the far end of this warehouse. I have to check it on myself. I glanced at the side and found a narrow passage between shelves filled with sacks. I overheard some of the workers talking at the other side of the tall pile of sacks. My pace is very careful. I don't want to catch their attention. I walked for around twenty meters and stopped when I heard someone coming. Not far from where I stand, I see rows of rooms and read the signage for each of them. There are offices of different departments. Another room at the far end caught my attention. It is locked up with chains and big padlocks. It has signage that reads "Unauthorized person not allowed".
"That must be the room that I am looking for," I told myself.
When I was already sure that no one is around, I made my way towards it. I held the chain and padlocks in my hands. How will I destroy these without making noise? I tried to use my strong olfactory senses but smelled mixed-up things. The rusty smell of the chains made me sneeze. Luckily, no one seemed to hear me. I wiped my nose with the back of my palms.
"Mmmm, mmmm,"
I heard the sound from inside like there's someone who wants to scream. Must it be the women? I must find out. Just when I was about to teleport when I heard an angry baritone voice of a man.
"Hey, what are you doing here!? Are you a new employee?"
I turned around and saw an armed man. He must be the one guarding this room.
"Didn't you see this signage!?" He pointed to the signage I read a while ago.
"I'm sorry I can't read," I answered him flatly.
He scorned before giving me an examining look. "You're a pretty woman yet you can't read? What a disgrace. How were you able to get a position in this company?" There's a sound of indifference in his tone.
"You know what, you've got a problem with your tongue." I looked and gave him a sardonic grin.
The man's face went pale and he looked irritated by my remarks. As I have expected, he moved forward and held my right arm.
"I don't care what you think of me. You get out of here before I lose my temper!"
He dragged me away from the locked room. We are already ten feet away I stopped walking. He too had stopped.
"How rude of you treating a woman like this!" I scolded him.
"Ah, you want me to treat you gentlemanly?"
A devilish smile flashed his lips. He bent as if he would carry me but I was quick to slap him. Slapping is a very weak act. That's so feminine, but I want to practice my acting skill and more so, to infuriate the man.
"Sorry, but my hand is unrestricted, so it's easy to slap your ugly face," I said with my lips curving into a teasing grin.
The man's face turned red. I could tell that he could no longer hold his temper. He gave me a full-strength blow that landed on my stomach. I felt like my body was thrown up by the force he has exerted. My heart rate suddenly increased and there's a bitter taste in my mouth, so I spat it out. I felt like the air has left my body and so I'm like sucking for breath."Wow! So this is how it feels to become an ordinary woman?"I cherished down inside while recognizing the pain. On the other hand, I can't help to feel mercy for every battered woman. I sympathize with all those who can't protect themselves. The man was not contented so he followed it with a head-turning slap on my right cheek. It was hard and forceful. I got off-balanced making me fall to the cemented ground. I did not expect it to be this painful. I curved and wrapped my hands in the injured part of my stomach. My face feels stinging pa
My heart is throbbing. This feeling is unusual as I've never felt scared since I lived in this world. I can sense as though danger is near to happen. What possible risk could these men give me? They're just ordinary men, after all. I bit my lower lip to suppress the uneasiness I'm feeling. I know I look like a helpless chick in the eyes of these men right now. For the first time, I've felt repentance for getting engrossed with someone else's matter. A man with red hair scoffed while pointing to the small rectangular lock on the right side of the door. "That door can't be opened with anyone unless his biometrics are registered." Smart biometric door lock? I turned my gaze to the door and saw it. I didn't notice it a while ago maybe because it was covered by the chains, or I was too focused on opening the door. Fantastic and stupid at the same time! Why would they even put so many padlocks and chains in it if there's this modern lock? What was it for? I inhaled f
I used the back of my palm in wiping the man's blood that was thrown unto my lips. I watched him while he's screaming and covering his face with both hands. My claws have made five, long incised wounds on his skin. "Ahh, you ruined my face! You monster! Keep shooting her!" He was screaming his lungs out while blood keeps on gushing out the wound and dropping down the floor. The other men attacked me simultaneously when they were left with no more ammo. One man struck me with his long gun. It would have hit me on my face if I was not able to block it with my right forearm. I heard my bone broke. I almost hold my breath because of the pain, but it's not important by now. I moved my forearm upward counter-clockwise and grabbed the barrel of the gun. I clenched my free hand's fist and punched his stomach. His body thrust in an upward direction and the pressure made him spat out his saliva. Gladly, it skips me and just dropped
Hunter was attending to a customer at the counter when Akira started mind linking. "Hunter." "Akira. What is it? Come over if you're done there. I have to discuss something important." Akira did not respond. "Akira?" He felt worried when there's still no response from the young lady. He could hear her heart rate getting slower. He exactly knew that this day would come. Akira is stubborn and it will not surprise him if she will end up messing out with humans. "Where did she say she went?"He asked himself trying to remember their conversation a couple of minutes ago."Was it Tucky Corporation?" He smiled at the customer and handed her the shopping bag. "Thank you, please come again." He said warmly. After which, he hurriedly went to their small living room at
The shooting incident was reported to the police station by some concerned citizens. So, the police are now on their way to the warehouse. "Go ahead, Prince of Terra Hella. Use your ability to make these men forget." Hunter persuaded again. "I will try." The young prince walked near the lying bodies and recited a spell. Soon, lights emitted from his hand. He extended his hand and the droplets of lights, like snowflakes, spread across the bodies of the humans. Their bodies lit up a second and then the lights faded. "How sure are you that it will work?" Melissa was not convinced. "Trust is important, princess." Hunter smiled at her with full assurance. "Excuse me, I think we have to wake her up," Connor said and started to step forward to the lying body of Akira. "Don't touch her. Let her feel the pain. She needs it. She'll be up on her own," H
"I'm afraid to give you my speculations, but the other young woman here is connected to the person who is suspected to have abducted Adele." He begun. I place the phone on my shoulder and tilted my head to clip it. "Which woman and what connection do you mean?" I put the pendant back into the box and started taking off my pants. "The one with shoulder-length hair. She's a daughter of the woman," Lucas answered. "Daughter?" I repeated and stopped what I am doing. It's Catherine that he is referring to. "Yes, Ms. Brown." He confirmed. "What else do you know about the daughter, Catherine?" I asked further. "She runs away from home when she was sixteen. Her mother always beat her since she was a kid. There's no information about her father. What's more interesting here is, her mother, Rosalia, is a half-sister of Rosemary." Lucas narrated. "Rosemary, the head servant of the Brown's mansion?" I clarified.
I went straight to the hospital after meeting with Lucas. I decided to visit Catherine and Isabel to see how they are doing. I was walking in the corridor of the hospital when I heard the news on the television in the nurse's station. It caught my attention so I stopped and watched first. "Good for you," I mumbled and smiled at the nurse on duty before continuing my pace. Ram Tucky and the other men I fought with yesterday got arrested. They couldn't explain what happened in the warehouse because of the spell cast by the mysterious prince. However, what was clear to the police was that they found illegal drugs in the place. The Tucky Corporation is now on its hot seat. I knocked before entering the hospital room where the two women are. There's no one inside except the two of them who are both lying on their beds. They are still unconscious and have not yet awakened since I brought them here yesterday. But the doctor, according to Lucas, said that they
The three Ehtrehtians walked back into the thick woods. They reached a small stream and cleanse themselves. The cold water helped them freshen up. They all sat beneath a shady tree. "I wish to go back to Ehtrehto Edis soon, I hope Lady Amara would agree to come with us." Peter started to speak. He was staring blankly at the leaves swaying with the wind. His hands are placed on the back of his head while leaning to the trunk of the tree. "I wish the same, Uncle," Connor replied with the same enthusiasm. "But, we have to be prepared for her decision. It will be hard on her side, especially that she grew up in this world," Conrad reminded them. "You are right," Peter agreed and sighed. "I don't know what Hunter did all of these days. He should have started telling her about her mission to our world, instead of just simply befriending her." He added with irritation. "Perhaps he has a valid reason," Conrad said with a sigh. "That's ri
