I pushed myself off the freezing floor, wiping the cold water from my eyes as my chest heaved with anger. I stood tall, staring right at him through the rusty iron bars.

"I knew it," I said, my voice dripping with disgust. "I knew you were a lying, backstabbing traitor."

Victor’s lips curled into a smug and arrogant smirk as he casually moved forward. "Do you honestly think I care what you think, Tamara? Did you really think I was ever trying to hide it?"

TamaraI pushed myself off the freezing floor, wiping the cold water from my eyes as my chest heaved with anger. I stood tall, staring right at him through the rusty iron bars."I knew it," I said, my voice dripping with disgust. "I knew you were a lying, backstabbing traitor."Victor’s lips curled into a smug and arrogant smirk as he casually moved forward. "Do you honestly think I care what you think, Tamara? Did you really think I was ever trying to hide it?"He stepped closer to the bars, his eyes flashing with bitter resentment. "North is not a good Alpha. He never was, and he sure as hell doesn't deserve to lead Nightsword. I should be the Alpha! I am going to take our pack back to the way it used to be, back to its true glory. Not this pathetic, soft rubbish North is trying to push on us! Scrapping the traditional Luna trials? Trying to make us 'modern' and weak? It's stupid! It's completely useless! He isn't fit to wear the crest, and I'm going to make sure everyone sees that.

Tamara"Your... daughter?" Eve whispered, her voice barely a breath in the damp freezing dungeon.Alpha Nolan let out a low laugh, "I was quite surprised myself when I first heard that my beautiful mate was pregnant when she ran away all those years ago," he said, his eyes gleaming with a twisted satisfaction. "But it's fine now. She’s right back where she belongs, with me. And she is never leaving my side again.""You're completely out of your mind," I spat, gripping the cold iron bars until my knuckles turned white."Crazy?" Nolan growled, turning his gaze back to me. "Try being separated from your true mate for almost two decades, little Luna. Try leading a damned pack without your other half, feeling that hollow rot in your chest every single day... all because two filthy lunatics lied straight to my face and told me my mate never crossed their borders!"My eyes widened as the realization hit me. He was talking about North's parents. They had kept Sarah, hiding her from Nolan all

NorthThe fight hadn't lasted as long as I expected. Despite being caught off guard, the Nightsword warriors had adapted quickly, turning the tide and completely wiping out the Frostbane attackers.Yet, as the last enemy wolf hit the dirt, a cold dread settled deep in my gut. Something was terribly wrong. Nolan wasn't among them. He hadn't shown his face once during the attack, and there was no way a man as arrogant as him would miss an opportunity to watch us bleed.I turned my head toward Kain, who was wiping blood from his forearm. "Kain! Is everyone accounted for?""Everything is under control," Kain called out, taking a deep breath. "The perimeter is clear. We pushed them back, Alpha."I nodded slowly, but the gnawing anxiety in my chest only grew louder. Reaching into our private bond, I opened the mindlink.“Tamara? Are you alright? It's over.”Silence.“Tamara?” I called again, my heart starting to hammer against my ribs.Nothing. I pushed my senses out further, straining to f

Tamara I was deep in sleep when I was violently jolted awake as North’s hands gripped my shoulders hard. His green eyes were wide, staring down into mine in the dark."Tamara! Listen to me," North ordered, his deep voice cutting through my panic, "I need you to move now. Get the women and children down to safety. Everyone knows where the bunker is, so you lead them there immediately.""North—" My heart slammed wildly against my ribs as I tried to sit up. "What's happening?""Frostbane attacked," he growled, his body tense and ready to burst through the door. "You stay in that bunker. Understand me? I will come back and get you when it's over.""I can fight, North!" I argued, my voice rising as panic threatened to choke me. "I can stay out here and–!""Listen to me!" he cut me off, grabbing both sides of my face, forcing me to look directly into his eyes. "I know how strong you are, Tamara. I know you can fight. But I cannot fight out there if I am constantly terrified that you aren'

Tamara Two days had passed since then, but the silence around us felt too much. It was almost too quiet, like something terrible was waiting to happen. I still could not forget Eve’s mother, trapped in her battered wolf form and lashing out in fear. That evening, North called a private gathering in the war room. Instead of a normal number, it was a tight-knit circle composed only of those closest to the center of the chaos, Kain, Serena, Elder Miko, and myself. I stood right next to North, my hand resting against his arm as we reviewed the pieces we had managed to pull together. I broke the silence in the room, letting my thoughts finally spill out. "I think Eve's mother is Nolan's mate." I let the words settle in between all of us. Everyone turned to look at me, surprise showing across their faces. Elder Miko was the first to speak, her wise eyes narrowing slightly as she considered my words. "I agree with Tamara," she said slowly, leaning on her cane. "Looking back... years ag

TamaraThe wind whipped through the trees as Serena, North, and I rushed back into the pack territory. As we burst into the clearing, the first thing that caught my eyes at a distance was two wolves locked in a standoff. One I instantly recognized as Raven. He was big and brown and the other wolf was much smaller, its fur bearing ragged, ugly marks of old claw swipes, angry burns, and strange, patched skin. I gasped, my hand flying to my mouth in pure shock. I had never seen a wolf in such a terrifying, mutilated state.Standing right between them was Eve, her arms spread wide, trying desperately to keep them apart. Not a single pack member dared to step forward or interfere.North let out an authoritative growl as he pushed his way directly between the two beasts, his eyes flashing dangerous gold. "What the hell is going on here?"Eve turned her head, her face pale and streaked with tears. "Alpha, I don't know!" she cried out, her voice trembling violently. "I was inside when I sud
