Tamara

"Wasn't I clear enough?" North growled and snapped at me. "I told you I wasn't taking you with me. You do not belong in my pack. You are weak."

I tightened my grip on the handle of my pink suitcase. "And I told you I am coming."

He looked at me with clear anger. "You don't understand what you're doing."

"I do," I replied, lifting my chin to meet his stare. "We are fated mates. The Moon Goddess paired us together, and you cannot just ignore that. Mates need to be close to each other. Whether you like it or not, I am going with you."

Before he could argue again, I let go of my suitcase. It dropped by his feet with a loud thud. I turned my back on him, walked straight to the heavy door of his black SUV, and climbed into the back seat. I pulled the door shut behind me.Through the tinted window, I watched him.

North stood completely still for a second. Then, he let out a frustrated sound and dragged his hands aggressively through his dark hair.

He reached for the car door handle, but my father stepped forward and placed a firm hand on North’s arm to stop him. I pressed closer to the glass, but the car was soundproof so I could only watch.

They spoke for a few minutes until North finally let out a harsh sigh and nodded in agreement.

The tall Beta picked up my pink box and put it in the trunk. North also got into the passenger seat.

He didn't look at me. "Drive," he ordered.

The SUV pulled away. I looked out the back window and saw my parents and brothers standing on the porch. My mother waved, and I waved back until they were completely out of sight. Reality finally settled in. I had left home for the first time in my life.

The journey lasted most of the day. The further we traveled, the wilder the land became. The clean roads disappeared, replaced by rough dirt paths and dense forests. The trees grew taller and closer together, almost blocking out the sun.

Eventually, massive rusted gates appeared in the distance. Tall walls surrounded the area and everything looked built for war.

"Stop the car," North said suddenly.

The Beta hit the brakes. The SUV rolled to a halt just a few yards away from the gates.

North turned around in his seat to look at me. His expression was completely serious.

"Listen to me very carefully," he said. "My pack is not like your home. My people do not care about fancy parties or soft gestures. They respect raw strength. Do not expect anyone in there to give you a warm welcome."

I swallowed hard, feeling nervous, but I nodded. "If you show weakness, they will treat you like you are weak," he warned. "No one is going to welcome you simply because you are my mate. You will have to stand your ground."

"I understand," I said softly but full of confidence.

He stared at me for a long moment, searching my face. Finally, he turned back to the front.

"Open the gates." The heavy iron doors slowly opened, and the SUV drove into Night Sword territory. I looked out the window in surprise.

Everywhere I looked, people were training. Men and women sparred in the dirt. They were highly muscular, and many had visible scars. Nobody laughed or stood around chatting. Everyone seemed focused on training. But I could see some women and children together playing… maybe this place wasn't that bad…right?

The buildings were made from rough stone and dark wood. They looked practical, not beautiful. At the center of the territory stood the main pack house. It was enormous.

The car stopped near the front doors. North got out, and I quickly followed him, making sure to keep my head held high. I was not about to make a fool out of myself

The moment North entered, all conversations stopped and everyone dropped their heads to show respect to their Alpha.

But when they looked at me, their expressions changed. Their eyes were full of curiosity and harsh judgment. They looked at my neat clothes and my small frame with obvious dislike.

North stood tall in the center of the room and spoke . "Listen Night sword," he announced. "This is Tamara. She is my mate, chosen by the Moon Goddess."

Heavy silence fell over the room. No one cheered and no one smiled. They just stared at me. The hostility in the room was so strong i began to wonder if they had met met me in their past lives.

Then, the crowd parted. A tall woman stepped forward. She had dark red hair and wore tight leather training clothes. She walked directly to my mate and placed a hand on his broad shoulder, completely ignoring my presence.

She leaned close to him with a mocking smile, then finally looked at me. "Alpha," she said, her voice loud and clear for the whole room to hear.

"Please tell me this some kind of sick joke. You actually brought back a pampered little princess? Tell me you're not actually going to let this weak, pathetic thing be our Luna.”

Tamara Without waiting another second, I reached out, grabbed North's hands, and forcefully dragged him away from the wreckage of the kitchen, pulling him out past Lucia and Kain and all the way outside away from prying eyes.I whipped around to face him with fury burning in my chest as I demanded, "What the hell have you done for this pack since I came back?"He blinked, taken aback, and didn't answer."I asked you a question," I snapped, stepping closer. "What have you actually done that proves you're a good Alpha right now? Are you seriously doing this? After everything we've been through, you still want to tear apart Kain and Lucia's bond just to feed your own anger?""Do you know what her father..." North started, his voice rising defensively."Her father, North! Not her!" I shouted, cutting him off completely. "Why on earth do you want to punish her for something her father did? She finally found a safe home and a true mate who loves her, and you want to rip that away from her.

TamaraWe all stood crowded around the large wooden table inside the war room, where the air felt so thick and suffocating that every breath came harder than the last, while sweat clung to our skin as we silently prepared ourselves for whatever we would receive from North. I stood beside Kain, and although he was naturally a strong, imposing man who rarely looked shaken, I could almost feel the crushing fear gripping his heart as he stood unnaturally still. My eyes drifted toward Serena. She looked completely devastated. Her shoulders had fallen, her face had lost every trace of its usual confidence, and her eyes seemed fixed on something none of us could see.Deep down, I already knew. Alpha Nolan's cold, blank-faced son was her mate. The thought twisted painfully inside my chest because I couldn't imagine a crueler bond than one tied to the enemy's son, and if he was anything like the monster who had raised him, there was almost nothing waiting for her except heartbreak. Then anot

Tamara "We do not have what you're looking for," I said, holding my ground as the tension around us grew heavier with every passing second.Alpha Nolan smiled coldly, before shaking his head."You're lying."His eyes locked onto mine."She is here.""And how would I know that," I asked, narrowing my eyes, "when I don't even know who you're looking for?"His smile widened."I thought you'd say that."He lifted one hand, gesturing for one of his men to step forward. The wolf reached into his jacket and pulled out an old, folded photograph before holding it toward me.I reached for it.Just as my fingers were about to take it, I caught the faintest glimpse of an eerily familiar face–A loud growl echoed through the clearing and every head snapped toward our line.It was North. He stormed forward, shoving past our warriors as though nothing in the world could stop him, his wolf practically roaring beneath his skin.Alpha Nolan threw his head back and laughed."Well… well…well."He looked

TamaraI gently pressed my hands against his chest, easing myself out of his arms before carefully pushing myself back and standing up, while keeping my distance as I looked away and murmured softly, "Don't." North frowned almost immediately, he stood up also and closed the space between us again. "Tamara..." "You hurt me, North," I whispered, my voice shaky beneath the weight of wounds that had never truly healed. "And we're no longer mates. The bond is gone." "To you, maybe," he said, his green eyes burning with unwavering confidence as though nothing in the world could shake what he believed. "To me, we still are." I swallowed but stayed silent. "I never accepted the rejection, Tamara," he continued, his voice quieter yet no less certain as he took another slow step toward me. "And I never will. Please... just give me one more chance." Before I could move away again, his hands settled gently around my waist, holding me carefully enough to let me leave if I wanted to, ye

TamaraI looked at the chair, my heart hammering against my ribs as the entire hall went dead silent. I knew what everyone expected me to do but I also knew it wasn't time. It wasn't right, and it certainly wasn't how I wanted any of this to go. Dropping my eyes to avoid the expectant stares of the entire pack, I looked past the Luna's seat and pulled out the chair right next to Raven properly, sitting down quietly.I glanced up just in time to catch North's face. His expression fell instantly, a look of disappointment flashing across his features, but he didn't say a single word. Slowly, he walked back to his own seat at the head of the table and sat down in silence, and the rest of the pack followed, finishing breakfast beneath an uncomfortable silence that no one seemed willing to break. As soon as the meal ended, I called out to Raven, motioning for him to step aside with me. Eve gave me a quick wave, telling me she would see me later that night, before heading off."How are you h

Tamara "Yeah, he is fine," I quickly said, trying to smooth over the awkward tension before Eve could dwell on it. "He just gets a bit overwhelmed sometimes."Eve smiled, stepping aside and gesturing for us to come in. "Well, come on in. Don't just stand out there."Lucia and I followed her inside, immediately stepping into a warm, comfortable house that felt surprisingly peaceful compared to the tension that had surrounded us at the pack house. We settled into the cozy living area and spent a few minutes talking, catching up on everything that had happened while I had been away and filling Eve in on the things she had missed. For a little while, I actually forgot about everything else. Then Eve's mother walked out from the kitchen carrying a tray of tea.She was a striking woman with a graceful presence, although I immediately noticed the slight limp in her step, subtle enough that I might have missed it if I had not been paying attention. She placed the tray on the table before loo
