KYRA

I woke up feeling ache all over my body, but I was sleeping on something soft and the air doesn't reek of wolfsbane. Did that mean it wasn't in a dream?

I tried sitting up, but my limbs were still like jelly.

"Easy there," Astrid came into view with a bowl of— I took a sniff at the the air, herbs.

She was frowning, like she was forced to be here.

"You're lucky we found you on time." Astrid grumbled, splitting the herb into two. She used one to run my body and after she was done, she made me drunk the other.

"You should thank Susan, everyone thought you ran away but she was sure there's no way you could have."

"What about the King?" I asked.

"He wants nothing to do with you,"

I nodded, that's pretty much obvious since Astrid is tending to me instead of him.

"I'm sorry and thank you," I said to Astrid.

"The herbs will make you sleep but by the time you wake up, you should feel better."' She stood up, "I hope this day never comes again. I'm not going to be reduced to being your ma

KYRA Indeed, the Alphas, —a few of them had some ladies they were dancing with while the others looked bored, sitting in a corner and just staring, including Eve.Her countenance changed the instant I walked in.She rolled her eyes and flipped me off.I ignored her. She's not worth my time. I glanced around the ballroom for dancing practice. Aside from the guards stationed at the door, there was no lead figure around. The warden and Miss Helen weren't here, which was strange.Nicole nudged me and glared at the Alphas.I clapped my fingers and yelled, "Can I have your attention, you all. I have an announcement to make or rather a challenge.""Does it involve you quitting this place?" Eve piped in."No, Eve," I bit back, "Sadly, the moon goddess hasn't listened to your prayers yet. Hold in a bit, darling. I'm sure it would be your turn soon."She snarled incoherent words at me and flipped me up again. "What's the announcement?" One of the ladies asked."Myself and my good friend her

KYRA Two days later, and I'm back in the training room. Most of my wounds are healed, thanks to Nicole, who was currently keeping her distance from me."You really shouldn't be here right now. You should be in bed, resting.""And have the other girls come out on top?" I scoffed."You're recuperating!" Nicole argued, "That will be the word for it.""What's on your schedule today?""What's yours?" She countered. "Dancing," I answered. "Me too.""Ever had a session yet in the few days I was 'recuperating'?""No..." Nicole scoffed, "I'm sure those horny Alphas will be gland, so another excuse to get close to the ladies and touch them."I rolled my eyes at the disgust on her face, "Stop it.""I'm serious. I mean what's the point. These Alphas are parading with the ladies even before the Alpha King has a chance to.""Maybe because the Alpha King has his eyes set on someone?"Nicole scoffed, "Still, that's no excuse.""So the Alpha King has his eyes on someone already? Wow, I feel like a

SUSANI wasn't a wolf, and I have no idea on what I was exactly. Running away from home was supposed to help me get away from my fate.I knew what my mother was up to, or at least I had an inkling, and even though I wasn't a wolf, my parents knew not to look for me in the palace, which was the first reason I chose it as my safe spot. Everyone was scared of the Alpha King, even non wolves, because of the reputation that proceeded him.Neither my mother nor father would dare take on the Alpha King.I have no doubt that the Alpha King knew who I was or at least suspected.I sighed as I entered my room and found the bed wet and my things scattered. I rolled my eyes, and suddenly, I'm back to the Palace and in Kyra's body. She was the one that usually got bullied, not me.I rolled my eyes inwardly and picked the clothes off the floor, then made a makeshift rag to clean the writing on the wall."You don't belong here. Get out.""Go back for the wolves. That's where you belong,""You can

  • The Last Omega: Fated to the Cruel Alpha King   Hate

KYRA So much has happened in the last few hours, Zyran carried me out of the arena, and I may or may not have had the weirdest dream or maybe trance. I don't know what to call it, but it's been a very crazy hour. But none of these is as crazy as the thought of Susan, which has been on my mind since that day.I'm sure it was her.My gut feeling, my antennas, my instincts, they all pointed to her.It has to be her in the woods. It definitely had to be.But was she with those that attacked me, or were they after her? Is she in some sort of trouble? Does she need help?I feel like I am going crazy with the million and one questions running through my mind, and there's there's that thing with Zyran. Why??So many whys and no answer, it's crazy.Nicole sat up on her bed and faced me, "Okay, spill it."I narrowed my eyes at her, "Spill what?""What is wrong with you? Something is wrong, so tell me, let's find a solution, and then you can stop moping.""I am not moping," I argued, "Besides

  • The Last Omega: Fated to the Cruel Alpha King   Summoned

KYRA I didn't say anything as I watched the Zyran follow his beta. The room felt emptier the moment he left, and I felt guilty for making the elders summon him. Because of me, he would have to stand there alone and explain why an Alpha King broke protocol, why he carried an omega out of the arena like she mattered.I swung my legs off the bed slowly, hissing when pain shot through my side. The healers had done what they could, but my body still protested every movement like it wanted to remind me of my place. Weak Omega.I slipped out of his rooms quietly, wrapping my arms around myself as I walked back to my room. By the time I reached it, I was exhaustedNicole shot up from her bed, the moment she saw me. “For fuck's sake, Kyra,” she snapped. “Do you have a death wish? You can’t just sneak in like that.”I blinked at her. She looked… worried. Her arms were crossed tight over her chest, jaw clenched, dark eyes scanning me for she injuries.“Sorry,” I muttered. “Didn’t mean to sc

  • The Last Omega: Fated to the Cruel Alpha King   A dream

KYRA What do you think today’s training is about?” I asked Nicole as I tied my boot laces. We hadn't been asked to wear ball gowns this time, but rather simple, ordinary lace dresses. It felt like we were being sent undercover—as if no one was supposed to know who we were. It gave me a thrill; I’ve always loved a good adventure.Still, I couldn’t stop wondering: Where were we being sent? Why were we going there? And what would happen if we failed? My heart sank. Today’s training wasn't like our usual drills. This felt more important.“To be honest, I have no idea—yet,” Nicole replied, pulling her hair into a high ponytail. “But I heard this is the first time they’ve ever done something like this. Don't expect anything, and prepare for the worst.” She caught her reflection in the mirror, giving herself a quick once-over.I didn’t have any specific expectations, but I was determined to pass. “I just hope I’m paired with you.”Even with the uncertainty of the day, I knew I could handle
