Lexus felt like a spell had radiated into his whole body. He just could not take his eyes away from the woman who is walking, approaching the place where he is standing. Her straight, a little blonde hair sways as the warm wind softly hammed caressing every strand thereof. Her flushed face is akin to that blooming red roses whose beauty could captivate every butterfly that may pass-by. He inhaled some fresh air and furrowed, confused with such a feeling that is clouding his whole being now.
Then his wolf galloped happily. “Lexus, we finally found our mate,” Aryas, his wolf exclaimed.
Lexus' heart throbbed so heavily upon hearing Aryas’ words. His eyes became fixed into the woman’s eyes; she is just around four arms length away from him. All of a sudden her eyes glistened as they were hit by the last light of the sun before it finally set-in.
He furrowed more. As if someone is pushing him; he abruptly makes wide strides to reach the woman’s spot; she is still looking at him with growing confusion in her eyes.
Lexus without thinking wisely; gently took the hands of the woman and kissed them. “I don’t know why I am so drawn into you at the onset that I laid eyes on you. And your sweet lilac scent haunted me the moment it filled my nostrils,” he murmured as he gazed at her with such adoration.
Daffodil’s eyes squinted as she grabbed her hand away from the man. It was as if she was awakened from a deep sleep when she felt his lips touch her hands.
“I don’t know you, so don’t you dare touch me again.” Daffodil flinched away from Lexus’ hands.
Lexus was somewhat hurt but he understood. “I am sorry. I just can’t help it. Did you not feel it, mate?” he asked with a sort of confusion in his tone.
Daffodil suddenly became speechless. She heard the word again. She decided to ask him. “I heard someone whisper that word to me just a while ago, although I don’t know who she was. Why are you calling me mate? Are we classmates before?” still confused, she asked, making Lexus almost laugh.
“You did not know the word mate?” Lexus asked, smiling.
“In our place when we say mate, it means we have been schoolmates. Why? Is there another meaning of that here in Cook Islands?” She asked with such innocence that made Lexus’ smile widened.
“For us, mate means our destiny, our fate, our partner in life.” Lexus explained, his smile is not fading.
“Oh, that’s ridiculous!” she exclaimed with eyes narrowed.
“It is not ridiculous; it is the most wonderful thing; wonderful feeling that a werewolf could have.” Lexus said with eyes fixated tenderly over the woman in front of him.
Daffodil was not able to hold back her laughter. “Werewolf; mate? Are you a fan of that Twilight movie Mister?”
Lexus furrows and suddenly gets hold of Daffodil’s right arm. “That’s true. We are werewolves.”
Daffodil’s eyes grew with fright. “Oh my God, help!” she shouted but the man in her front put his hand over her mouth, controlling her from shouting.
“Shhh, I will not harm you. I am Lexus, what is your name mate?” he said smilingly, his hand still covering her mouth.
Daffodil grabbed the man’s hand on her mouth. “You better go, find that mate you are looking for. Definitely, I am human. I don’t have any mates!” she hissed at him.
But Lexus was too quick to act. He swiftly grabbed Daffodil’s waist and before she could react, his lips already crashed into her lips.

A volt of electricity hit both of them. Daffodil was stunned while Lexus smiled as he continued to kiss her passionately.
Daffodil could not understand but something inside her was wobbling, as if trying to come out. She closed her eyes and felt her heart racing. His kisses made her shiver and she seems to feel much better.
“I am Daff; they call me Daff; short for Daffodil,” she said when their kiss ended.
Lexus’ expression suddenly changed. His smile faded as he whispered her name, “Daffodil? You are Daffodil Marby?” he asked stunned.
Creases in Daffodil’s forehead increased when he mentioned her full name. “How do you know my full name?”She asked with narrowed eyes.
“I have ways to find it out,” he replied mysteriously as he looked deep into her golden eyes. “You really have such golden eyes?” he murmured thereafter.
“So what if I have golden eyes Mr. Lexus? I know, only few have that. “
“Yes, only few have golden eyes and most probably, you are the remaining one with such. Tell me Daff, have you not felt yet that you are a she-wolf?” he asked suddenly to her total shock.
“What? What the hell are you talking about?” she almost screamed in utter disbelief.
He was never bothered by her screams. “What if you are actually one of us? A she-wolf; I am certain right at this moment that you can feel that pull mate between us.”
Daffodil was frozen. She could still remember that voice that always tried to speak with her, to reach for her mind. It started when she turned seventeen.
“No, I am not. So, please excuse me.” Daffodil removed Lexus’ hand on her shoulders and was about to turn her back but the man stopped her.
“You need to know the truth Daff, about yourself.” He insisted as he held her right hand.
“I know who I am, Mr. Lexus; I am the sole heir of Mr. and Mrs. Marby, whose business empire has never been trampled down by time. Now, if you are trying to lure me because you have researched this thing about me; I am sorry. You are barking on the wrong tree Mister. Let loose and do not disturb me.” Daffodil’s annoyance is now evident.
Lexus has been offended but it will not be a reason for him to stop from knowing the truth. “I am certain Daffodil Marby, you are my mate and we are destined for each other. No Alpha can take you away from me,” he softly muttered but Daffodil heard everything that he said.
“You are crazy Mr. Lexus. You only met me today and you are already so certain that we are meant to be. I never thought that a man like you could be so romantically attached and passionate about having that “they live happily ever after” ending,” she mocked him but he was never affected.
“Because werewolves do Ms. Daffodil Marby. We are mates; destined to be together by fate.” He said calmly yet with conviction while releasing her hand.

IA tall, bulky man with a fierce look came in, disturbing the concentration of Daffodil.“Mr. Dixon?” the tall, bulky man asked while looking at Dixon.“Yes? I am Dixon.”“Please come with me. We will be giving you a few instructions,” the man said and motioned for Dixon to come out and follow him.Daffodil suddenly grabbed Dixon’s arm. “Dixon, don’t go,” she said as her heart suddenly beats fast. Her instinct was telling her that he needs to stop Dixon from getting out of the room.“Hurry up, Mr. Dixon!” the man shouted and looked at Daffodil with squinting eyes.Dixon followed while Daffodil sat on the bed with her heart beating fast.Dixon followed the man until they reach a room. “Please come inside, Mr. Dixon.”Dixon nodded and got inside the room. There were two men waiting inside the room. They were both seated on the three-seater sofa. The three men looked at each other. Then the man who fetched Dixon nodded. Before Dixon could even move the two men were already beside him. T
IDaffodil requested for a coffee from an omega maid that they passed by while going to the lanai area. Just a few moments after being seated on the lanai couch, the omega maid arrived with two cups of coffee for Daffodil and Dixon.“So, how are you feeling Daff that your wedding is just a day away?” Dixon asked to start the conversation. On the side, his ears were well alert while waiting for the go signal that was told to him by Drew.Daffodil smiled, her eyes starting to light up with excitement. “I am getting excited Dixon but a bit nervous too. Maybe this is the so-called wedding jitters.” She looked at Dixon and smiled.“Are you really sure about your decision of getting married to Lexus and stay here for good? How about your business in Los Angeles and your parents, Daff?” Dixon was trying to put a certain doubt in Daffodil’s mind, but the latter smiled and patted his shoulder.“I should not worry about that. Lexus is willing to let me visit Los Angeles anytime I wanted and whe
IBefore Dixon could make a step, a big gray wolf jumped in front of him, to his complete shock. All his blood seemed to forsake him out of fear. His knees weakened and his eyes grew wide while looking at the gray wolf. And then the gray wolf in a flash shifted into his human form which added to the shock in Dixon. “Who… who are you?” stammering, Dixon asked the man in front of him.“I am the new Beta of this pack.” It was Drew who was in front of Dixon.“Beta? Pack? What kind of creatures are you?” still with fear, Dixon asked in a shaking voice.“Didn’t you know? We are werewolves. All of us are werewolves here including Lexus.” The revelation added more shock to Dixon. “Daffodil, she should not marry Lexus,” he then said with worry and fear. He suddenly feared for the safety and life of Daffodil, not knowing fully well that Daffodil is a werewolf too.“Am I right to guess that you wanted Daffodil for yourself?” Drew asked in a confirming tone. He wanted to make sure that his plan
ILexus and Daffodil guided Mr. And Mrs. Marby and Dixon to the dining hall where food has been readied already. Alpha Daedos was also there, waiting for the arrival of their special visitors.Immediately, with a smile on his face, Alpha Daedos stood up when he saw the group of Lexus entering the dining hall. He walked to meet Lexus and Daffodil and their special visitors.“Father, may I introduce to you, Daff’s parents; Mr. and Mrs. Marby, and their family friend, Mr. Dixon.” It was Lexus who introduced their visitors to his Alpha father.“Welcome to our place, Mr. and Mrs. Marby, and Dixon,” Alpha Daedos initiated the first greeting with a broad smile. He extended his hand for a handshake to Mr. Marby first then to Mrs. Marby and then to Dixon.“It is a pleasure meeting you, Mr. Daedos. Your place is absolutely wonderful,” Mr. Marby replied with a wide smile too.“We will surely love this place,” Mrs. Marby stated too with a genuine smile on her face.Dixon simply smiled but never d
IHe cleared his throat first before he spoke with a serious expression. “He is welcome here, Daff, as long as he will not create any trouble that will affect our wedding.”Daffodil smiled at him and got hold of his hand on top of the coffee table. “I can assure you that Dixon is a good man and he will never do something to ruin our wedding. He is a man of good values, Lex. Please don’t worry. Besides, Dad and Mom are here, so I am sure, he will be ashamed to do something to hurt us.” She looked at him with confidence in her aura.“With that assurance of yours, then, he is welcome to come and stay here until our wedding,” Lexus replied, smiling this time. He kissed her hand and looked at her tenderly. They had a long conversation on the balcony before they separated ways. Lexus went to his Alpha Father’s office to inform him of the arrival of Daff’s family. Daffodil on the other hand decided to go to her room to rest for a while. She is smiling and has been feeling so light. In just a
