The Buried truth

Author’s POV

Gina was woken up from her sleep. It was after midnight and her throat was parched. She moved her eyes and found her brother sleeping on the chair. The chair was going to give up due to his muscular figure. She moved her body and tried to reach the glass, but it was difficult. Her body was sore. She hissed in pain.

“You could ask me.” Derek’s voice made her look up to him and she smiled.

A tear dropped from Derek’s eyes when he saw her smiling. He must have done something good in his life that he was now able to see his sister smiling.

He gave her the glass of water and she drank it all.

“Easy, girl. You don’t have to survive on liquid anymore.”

“I am hungry.” Her stomach was empty and she could feel elephants ramping inside.

“God, do you know how great it is to have you back?” Derek spoke as he sat down on her bed.

“I am sorry.” Gina spoke.

The brother and sister bonded but Derek didn’t let her speak much as he was aware that she was very fragile at the moment.
