Yes! It worked

Seipati was sitting in the balcony watching the great picturesque view of the mountains that engulfed  the Caledon river. She constantly glanced at the beautiful golden sunset that adorned the horizon while sipping from the cup of coffee she was holding and was paging a magazine that was on the garden table. She could not help herself but smile as she was reminiscencing the past events in her marriage.

She was now living in the subarban area of Maseru, a capital city of Lesotho. Her house was on the outskirt of the town facing the river bank of the Caledon river that runs from the mountains giving the  town that refreshing feeling especially in the mornings. She sighed with a feeling of contentment and appreciation of her achievements so far. Eversince her marriage survived the state of being in shambles, she never looked back but made sure everything remain intact.

She was enjoying every moment of her new life. Her husband was promoted to a senior position in the company he had been working in for a long time. They decided to move from the rural village to the subarban town after her husband was promoted. Seipati was really a Cinderella now. Her prince charming made sure she got the kind of life a modern woman would wish for. Her thoughts took her back to where she visited the traditional healer to fix her marriage. Ntate Mogoadi had finally met her husband. He ordered him to see him as well so that he could give him some few tips to change his life. He gave him some of his famous powders he was giving to many of his clients who wanted to succeed.

Fana Sekhonyela, Seipati's husband followed all the rules the traditional healer gave him. Ntate Mogoadi was not only the healer, he was a man of wisdom. All those who listened to his advices were getting a breakthrough in their lives. Fana was given instructions to use the mixtures sparingly and walk boldly when entering the office of the chief executive officer.

He was ordered to wake up very early in the morning and be the first one to report for work before any employer in the  company he was working for. The traditional healer told him to sprinkled the little powder at the door of the chief executive officer before he enters his office. He was also ordered to greet him and speak few words with him before they start to work. He did that almost every day until the chief executive officer noticed him. Sometimes he would offer to help with other few errands like buying lunch for him.

One other there was announcement on the notice board that a new position was open for anyone to apply. Fana was the first one to see it since he was always around the office of chief executive officer. He immediately asked him about the requirements for the job. He was told that one must have office experience and some other skills like driving and computer literacy. He was a bit down because he knew that he did not know anything about computers. But he immediately dismissed that feeling remembering the words of advice Ntate Mogoadi always gave him. He told him that he should be optimistic and never give any space for doubt in his life. He told the chief executive officer that he want to apply for the job.

Fortunately, the chief executive officer already knew his deligence. He gave him the form to fill in and told him to come for the interview the following day. He was jumping with joy but never told anyone. That was one of Ntate Mogoadi's wise instructions. He told him not to tell everyone his dreams before they were materialized. "Not everyone has the best interest at their hearts to boost you to the top", these were the words of the traditional healer.

The following day, he was the first one to arrive as usual. He shook hands with the chief executive officer and took the seat as he was ordered. He was asked few questions about the company and himself, then he was released. The other candidates followed and they were interviewed as well. The selection came and Fana got the call. He was told to start working immediately and training was provided. After a month he was mastering his work. His colleagues congratulated him and he was the new managing company co-ordinator. The job was accompanied by perks one of which was to get a subsidy for buying a house. That is when they decided to move to the city.

Every one was talking about their success in the village. Some women were envying Seipati for getting all the things other women wish for but could not get. Her mother-in-law was complaining of being abandoned by her only son who decided to take his wife to the city. Other old village women were agreeing with her. They blamed Seipati for manipulating her husband into abandoning his only parent. Some reminded the not to forget about the verse in the bible that says," a man shall leave his mother and father and become one with his wife". In that note, the mother-in - law learnt to accept that not everything was meant to be controlled by her.

The news travelled and reached Ntate Mogoadi's ears. He the ordered them to come to be strengthened. This is a belief in any black community that someone has to be strengthened in order for them to be resistant to the effect of the evil spirits. But according to Ntate Mogoadi, he wanted them to be determined and never look back. He knew that by believing that they were strengthened they would not be afraid of anything that comes to hinder them.

They went with more assurance that nothing will ever beat them. Fana worked well and he was getting along with his superiors. He worked with more deligence, hoping for another promotion that could come his way.
