Sienna’s POV

“Aiden, wait!”

I begin but it is already too late. He is already sprinting off of the porch, calling for Luke before I even have my shoes off. Ava snorts next to me, shaking her head.

“That kid could at least pretend to miss you for longer than five seconds.”

I roll my eyes and push the door open.

“Hi, Derek.”

He hugs me quickly before taking the dish from my hands.

“Hey, sis. You didn’t have to bring anything.”

“Grilled veggies don’t exactly count as effort.”

I say shrugging as I step inside.

By the time we get outside, Jake and Peter are already sitting at the table, with beers in hand. Anna and Alice, their mates, wave me over. They scoot some chairs together, and Ava plops down next to them.

Anna leans in, her eyes wide.

“Okay, tell me everything. Did someone actually faint in the lobby today or was that just a rumor?”

Ava laughs.

“Oh, it happened. This guy came in with a sprained ankle, saw the needle, and boom. Right onto the floor.”

Alice gasps.

"You are kidding.”

  • The Luna He Left Behind   Chapter 17

Sienna’s POV It has been a long, heavy week. Derek has been quiet, too quiet since the dinner. He keeps watching me in that older-brother way of his that always make me feel like I am ten years old again, sneaking cookies before dinner. But this time, it it is more calculating, like he is waiting for something. So when he showes up at my house on my day off, I am not even a little bit surprised. I am surprised, though, when he shuts the door behind him, leans against it, and fixes me to my spot with a look that has my stomach dropping. “Alright. Enough dancing around. What the hell is going on, Sienna?” He asks flatly. My throat tightens. “What are you talking about?” I asks hesitantly and he laughs humorlessly. “Oh no, I know you Si. Don’t play dumb with me. I have been watching. You. Aiden. As

Derek’s POVI walk Asher around the side of the house towards the shed, away from the chatter and the kids’ voices. He follows me in silence, hands behind his back. He turns to me and I begin. His arms is folded, and he is looking at me like he is focused on my words, but I know he is distracted. I’m going over patrol schedules, but he keeps glancing past me again and again. At first, I think he might be looking at Siemna, but I turn ans follow his line of sight.Straight to the yard where the boys are playing. Straight to my nephew.Aiden is running circles around Luke, with a stick in hand, laughing so hard he can barely breathe. And Asher’s eyes are locked on him like he can’t look away.I frown slightly. “Is something wrong?”I asks and Asher’s head snaps towards me. “No. I'm just keeping an eye out and making sure that the boys don’t hurt themselves.”I let out a dry laugh. “They’re fine. Kids bounce.”I say shrugging but he doesn’t answer. His eyes stay locked on Aiden, I fro

Asher’s Point of View Luke squeals excitedly before racing back to the field, shouting over his shoulder.“Come on, Aiden!”Aiden grins up at me one last time, his eyes shining brightly, and then he runs after Luke. The other boys follow quickly, their laughter carrying across the playground.I stand there, rooted to the spot, as they start up their game. The ball rolls, sneakers pound the dirt, and shouts of “Pass it!” and “Goal!” echo in the air.Luke is fast, just like his father, quick feet darting past the others. But it is Aiden who makes the field his own. He is sharp, and fearless. He steals the ball from an older kid, twice his size and kicks it straight into their makeshift goal.He throws his hands in the air, shouting, “Yes!” before he high fives Luke. My wolf practically howls inside of me. 'Look at him. Ours. He is strong. He is perfect.'I can’t deny it, there is something in the way he moves, the stubborn determination in his stance. It feels like looking in a mirro

Asher’s Point of ViewThe second I left Jake last night, my wolf started in on me again.'Mine. Ours. Claim him.'And he hasn’t stopped houding me, since. His voice keeps echoing in my head, rattling me until I can hardly think.'He’s just a boy.'I snap back, pacing the length of my room.'He is Sienna’s son. That doesn’t make him ours.'My wolf growls, restless, pacing the edges of my mind. 'You felt it. The spark when he touched you. He belongs to us. She belongs to us.'I pinch the bridge of my nose, anger simmering in my chest. 'You have to stop. We have a chosen mate. We have a family. We chose this path, and Sienna made her choice a long time ago.'But the words leave a bitter taste in my mouth. Because no matter how many times I repeat them, the image of the boy’s wide eyes won’t leave me. Or the way Sienna’s lips tightened when she saw me with Bianca at the ice-cream parlor.I make my way towards the bed, and close my eyes, hoping I can force myself to go to sleep. But no

Sienna’s Point of View By the time we get home, it’s late, but Ava and I throw something simple together foe dinner, grilled cheese and apple slices. “Mommy, can I have two sandwiches?” Aiden asks, bouncing in his chair. I arch an eyebrow at him “You willl eat one and then complain that you are too full, just like last time.” I reply, sliding his plate in front of him. “I won’t!” He says with full confidence, before taking a huge bite. Ava smirks, sipping her water. “Bet you five bucks of my rent, that he doesn’t finish it.” I arch a brow at her, laughing. “Five bucks off of your rent? You don’t even live here, Ava.” I say, shaking my head and she grins at me. “Fine. Bragging rights.” She shoots back. Aiden points his sandwich at her. “I’m going prove you wrong, Aunt Ava.” He says and she smile at him. "You're on." ‐--------------------------------------------------- Half a sandwich later, he is groaning dramatically about being “too full.”
