**Raina's POV**
Heavy breathing reached my ears as Silas moved on top of me like someone who’s possessed by the demon of lust.
I clenched my hands into fists, catching my breath as I forced down the bile that rose to my throat.
If I threw up now, I would just get a beating and have wounds to nurse for days.
Unlike most werewolves, I didn’t have the ability to heal faster. So, I didn’t like getting hit or injured. Silas could be brutal when angry, and I didn't want to provoke him.
He groaned and released inside me before pulling out of me and getting to his feet. And then his face morphed into a look of disgust.
“Fuck… every time I finish, I come to my senses. Why the hell was I fucking someone like you?” He hissed, gritting his teeth.
My stomach churned.
Why was he fucking me? Even I didn’t have the answer to that question. He always had, from the time I became an adult and was sent to the packhouse to live as a maid, even though I wasn’t an omega.
My wolf was just weak. But I was born to Beta parents.
Silas always looked at me with disgust, calling me fat and ugly, but he lusted after the same body he looked down on.
I didn’t understand him at all…
I placed an arm over my chest in a futile attempt to hide my breasts and cupped my core with the other. I couldn’t stand the look of disgust on his face.
He just slept with me, but he looked at me like I was some filthy pig.
It stung… the prickling-like sensations made my heart feel like it was being pierced with long, sharp needles.
Yes… I had a crush on Silas, the Alpha of the Whitecrest Pack. I thought that maybe if I did as he wanted, he would fall in love with me and make me his Luna.
But he constantly just kept lusting over my body and treated me like trash both in private and publicly.
Guess the joke’s on me…
He would never make me his Luna… my half-sister, Gwen, was a better match for him. She was the typical bombshell- blonde with striking green eyes and a slender figure with just the right amount of curves.
Whereas you wouldn’t feel my hipbones if you grabbed my hips… I had lush breasts that bounced as I moved and a tummy pooch.
I wasn’t beautiful according to werewolf standards.
So, I couldn’t even dream of being Silas’ chosen mate. I should be grateful he could even sleep with me…
I felt my wolf growl in my mind in disapproval, but I ignored her… she wasn’t human, so she wouldn’t understand how insecure my body made me feel.
A sigh escaped my lips as I dressed up in my usual baggy clothes- a large grey tee and loose black pants. When I was done, I made for the door, but Silas suddenly growled.
“What are you doing?” He questioned.
I turned to glance at him, confused. Wasn’t he done?
His eyes fell on the old vanity table. “Aren’t you forgetting something?”
My eyes fell on the small white bowl that had a green liquid, and I wrinkled my nose.
“Can I not take that? I can only get pregnant if I have my heat–”
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Silas furrowed his eyebrows. “I will not take any chances. Are you trying to get pregnant and trap me with a kid? Drink that concoction… only my Luna can have my pup.”
I felt like someone was stabbing me in the gut multiple times.
Silas knew what would happen if I took that concoction for a long time. It was a mixture of very strong herbs that prevented pregnancy, and to make it more effective, it was laced with a small amount of wolfsbane. It’s said to cause infertility in werewolves if used for a long time, and I had been using it ever since Silas took my first time.
I may have no hope of being his Luna, but I wanted to have my own children at some point. After all, I couldn’t be alone forever.
Silas must have seen something on my face because the air around him suddenly turned cold. He stomped towards the vanity table and grabbed the white bowl.
And then, he was in front of me in seconds, holding my jaw tightly, forcing my mouth open.
“Ugh…” I groaned from the pain in my jaw. If he tightened his grip even just a little bit, my jaw would snap in two.
Silas glared at me like I was his greatest enemy. Like the very sight of me disgusted the hell out of him.
His cruel look sent stings of pain through my heart.
Did he hate me that much?
“I said drink this shit,” he growled, forcing the horrible liquid down my throat.
Not only did it taste bad, but it smelled like shit.
Was this poison disguised as a contraceptive meant for people to consume?
I gagged, some of the liquid spilling out of my mouth and Silas grabbed my jaw tightly, tilting my head up.
“You better not waste anything. I don’t want you passing those ugly genes to my offspring,” he said ruthlessly.
I couldn’t hold my breath for too long and since he was pouring the liquid relentlessly down my throat, I ended up swallowing it.
When he was done, he let go of me like I was a disease while I coughed violently, but it was too late.
I had already swallowed everything and immediately, I felt like my insides were burning. Like someone had made me swallow a piece of hot coal and it was wrecking my insides.
Silas nodded in satisfaction. “We are hosting the hunting games today. A lot of important guests will be in our pack today. Don’t show your ugly face… don’t embarrass our pack for having such an ugly ass she-wolf.”
**Raina's POV** "Your father has been given a room. He will leave for the Whitecrest Pack tomorrow morning," Rowan said when he came to our room at the Alpha's mansion. "He wanted to leave now, but Mom convinced him to stay. It's a bit late, after all." I gave a small smile. "It seems he managed to talk to Mom without us having to intervene," I murmured. "I was worried she would rip his hair out." "She probably thought it wasn't worth it," Rowan said. He took off his clothes before sliding into bed with me. I scooted closer to him before placing my head on his chest, right where his tattoo was located. The tattoo that stated he was mine. He belonged to me. "That or she's still blaming herself," I remarked, caressing Rowan's chest. "Anyway, what matters is that we are all alive." "That's right," Rowan murmured and kissed the top of my head. "I'm glad you now have both your parents. Are you happy?" "I've been happy from the first day I met you," I uttered, looking up
**Rita's POV**I know I had decided to hide in my room as Michael talked to Raina, but I couldn't help myself. Jumping out of the window, I walked around the mansion and masked my presence when I got closer to the patio. My heart clenched in pain the moment I saw Michael. He was older, but he hadn't changed much. He was still as handsome as the first day I met him. Severing our mate bond was the hardest thing I had to do in order to protect him and our daughter. I just didn't expect him to get hurt and vent that anger on Raina as if she were the reason I left him. Our daughter didn't deserve any of that. And no matter how many times she says I shouldn't blame myself, it's my fault that she had to endure such mistreatment in her own father's house. I would never stop feeling guilty. But I also know I would still make the same decision all over again. Pace had been tracking me. And it was only a matter of time before he found us. If I hadn't left, Raina and Michael would ha
**Raina's POV** My heart hammered in my chest. 'What should I do?' Rowan asked. 'I can ask the warriors to send him away since you're not ready to meet him.' "Raina, what’s wrong? Your face is pale," Mom asked, and everyone turned to look at me. I smiled awkwardly. "I'm fine, it's just that I've heard that my father is at the pack's border." Mom let out a murderous growl. "That coward. How dare he show himself here? I thought he told you he would wait?" Mom asked, glancing at Rowan. "Yes, that's what we agreed. I'm equally surprised he's shown up before Raina could reach out to him like he promised." "Ask them to send him away," Sebastian said. "We can't force Raina to see him when she's not ready." "No, it's fine. I'll see him," I uttered, and Rowan looked at me, his eyebrows creasing. "Are you sure, Sweet Pea?" He asked worriedly. "You don't have to force yourself if you're not ready." I coiled my hands into fists. "I'm not ready, but I would have had to face him one
**Raina’s POV**“I hope we are on the same page, Jade,” I said, looking at her. “You won’t be joining the battle this time. You have life growing inside you.” Jade sighed, looking out at the trees. We were on a balcony that overlooked a garden and the forest at the Alpha’s mansion. Lydia had invited us to dinner. It was a family dinner to officially welcome my mother into the family, but we invited close friends as well. Jade and Lucia were with me on the balcony, and Flynn, Rowan and the three gammas were somewhere outside, smoking and strategising about the war. That was all we did these days. We didn’t know when Alpha Pace would attack, so we weren’t going to let our guards down. Agatha had come through to see my mother, and while she was here, she raised some barriers at the border, although she wasn’t sure if they could hold against Marcella’s dark magic. Still, we were grateful for the help. Anything that could slow the attackers was welcome. “It’s hard for me to do that,
**Raina's POV**"Hello? Raina? Are you there?" Silas' annoying voice echoed through the phone speaker, and I coiled my hands into fists. His voice was gentle, but he couldn't fool me. I knew what kind of man he was.He was an abuser, a narcissist and a tormentor. The only reason he was speaking like he was talking to a god was because he wanted something.I glanced at Rowan. His jaw was clenched, clearly not happy that I agreed to talk to Silas. But he still held the phone for me and put it on loudspeaker.Leaning in, I placed a soft kiss on his lips, and he relaxed a little, giving me a small smile."Hello? Is anyone there?""Why do you want to speak to me? And how did you know I was back?" I questioned coldly. There was a brief silence on the other end of the phone. After a few seconds, Silas sighed."You really hate me, huh?""Isn't that obvious?" I sneered. "Get to the point.""My sources told me the Nightshade Pack is planning for war, so I assumed Rowan managed to rescue you. I w
**Raina's POV**A week had passed since my mother and I had escaped from the Nightshade Pack.I never thought a world where I woke up and saw my mother could ever exist. The Moon Goddess had blessed me with so many things, I didn't have the right to complain about the small, unfortunate things.Alpha Pace's obsession wasn't worth my trouble. Like Mom said, he should be treated like an annoying pest that we were going to exterminate. The past week, I focused on training with my mother. She taught me how I could use my powers to my full potential. And how I could use my healing magical powers to heal a lot of people at once, not just one person at a time. This could help a lot of our warriors get back on their feet quickly during battle. It took a while for me to master the skill, but in no time, I could channel a lot of my power at once and heal multiple people.Rowan was impressed, but he was still worried since I couldn’t heal myself. If the enemy decided to hurt me in order to finish
**Rowan’s POV**“Alpha, I think it’s strange that we are suddenly having intruders when the very mention of your name used to scare them off,” Flynn said as we got to the border. “Could it be that these people are after your Alpha position?”I hadn’t told Flynn about Raina’s special wolf. He probabl
**Rowan’s POV**“Don’t question her immediately, Alpha,” Flynn advised as he got into my Jeep. “Let’s find her and then interrogate her. If she was involved in bringing in an intruder, she might run away once she knows we're onto her.”I clenched my hands around the steering wheel, my blood boiling.
**Rowan’s POV**My arms instinctively tightened around Raina, and my wolf went into full alert protection mode after she told me about feeling a dark presence behind her in the forest. I furrowed my eyebrows, wondering if we still had an intruder in the pack who had gone undetected. ‘Nathan, take
**Raina’s POV**“A special Alpha’s service, huh?” I murmured while lying on my stomach. “Is this special Alpha service for everyone?”Rowan was kneading my ass so gently… the way his hands felt on my body… the sparks and tingles exploding between us... I loved it. “It won’t be special if it’s for
