_Leah’s POV_

I sat in silence as the car moved through the dark forest. My hands were still tied and my feet still bound. My heart was beating so loudly in my chest that I thought Kayden could probably hear it. I kept my face turned to the window, trying to control my breaths, but my hands wouldn’t stop trembling.

Athena stirred inside me. “Stay alert,” she whispered. “He might mean what he says, but we must be careful.”

I nodded to myself, my gaze fixed outside. Trees passed like ghostly shapes, and my thoughts tangled themselves up like thorned vines. I kept seeing Tariq in my mind. He would be looking for me already. How would I hide? Going back to Blood Moon Pack was the last thing he would ever expect me to do. Maybe that was my only advantage.

My heart gave a strange ache. Going back to this place that had caused me so much pain felt like stepping into my own nightmare.

When the car finally pulled up at the gates of Blood Moon Pack, I felt my hands tighten into fists. Memories r

  • The Luna Queen    Chapter 80

_Leah’s POV_Morning light slipped gently into the dining room, painting the long wooden table in soft gold. The pack house felt calm for once. It was quiet and safe. Or at least, that was what I told myself as I set the plates down.I adjusted the plates again even though they were already perfectly aligned. My hands needed something to do. My body still felt slow and heavy with sleep I hadn’t fully gotten.Athena stirred gently inside me. You are tired.“I know,” I whispered under my breath. It wasn’t just exhaustion. It was the memory of the night before. My cheeks warmed at the thought and I quickly focused on pouring tea so no one would notice the sudden heat in my face.Kayden sat at the head of the table. His broad shoulders were relaxed but alert, as if he never fully stopped being on guard. He looked better this morning. His color had returned and the shadows under his eyes were lighter. Still, I noticed how he rolled his shoulders slowly, testing them, how he did not move wi

  • The Luna Queen    Chapter 79

_Leah’s POV_The moment Kayden ended the call, something inside me twisted. He didn’t look at me right away. His shoulders were tense. His jaw was tight. That look always meant trouble.“Kayden?” I asked softly. “What happened?”He stood up from the couch. “I need to go,” he said quickly. “Right now.”My heart skipped. “Go where?”“I’ll explain when I get back,” he replied. “I promise.”I grabbed his arm before he could move past me. “You just recovered. You can’t rush out like this. What if it’s dangerous?”His eyes softened when he looked at me but the urgency didn’t leave them. “I have to do this, Leah. Please trust me.”Athena stirred inside me. Something is wrong.“I don’t like this,” I said quietly. “At least tell me if you’re going to be safe.”“I will be,” he said. Then he leaned down and kissed my forehead. “I won’t be long.”And just like that, he was gone. The door closed behind him with a soft click but the sound echoed loudly in my chest.I stood there for a long moment,

  • The Luna Queen    Chapter 78

_Leah’s POV_The days that followed blurred together in a strange mix of fear, exhaustion and fragile hope.Kayden survived. That thought alone kept me breathing. The first night after he woke up, I barely slept. I stayed by his bed in the hospital room, sitting in the stiff chair beside him. My fingers were wrapped around his hand as if letting go might make him disappear. The steady beeping of the machines became the rhythm of my heart. Every rise and fall of his chest felt like a miracle. He slept most of the time. His body was healing but slowly. The dark magic had left deep scars inside him. The doctors explained what they could, but even they admitted there were things they did not fully understand. Magic did not follow human rules.I watched his face while he slept. His lashes rested against his cheeks. There were faint shadows under his eyes. He looked calmer like this, younger somehow and more vulnerable. You saved him, Athena said softly inside me.“We saved him,” I whisper

  • The Luna Queen    Chapter 77

_Leah’s POV_Darkness wrapped around me like thick fog.For a few seconds, I didn’t know where I was. I didn’t know who I was. There was no sound, no light, only a deep heaviness pulling me down. My body felt numb as if I had sunk to the bottom of a cold lake."Leah...."The voice reached me faintly. It was distant like it was calling to me through thick water. “Leah, wake up!”I groaned softly. My head throbbed as if it were being split open. Every part of me hurt. My chest felt tight and my limbs felt heavy, as if they didn’t belong to me anymore.“Leah!”That voice again. It was urgent now.I forced my eyes open.Bright light stabbed into my vision, making me gasp. I squeezed my eyes shut. My breath was coming in short and painful bursts.“Slowly,” the Seer said gently. “Open your eyes slowly, child.”Her voice grounded me. I tried again, blinking through the pain. The world came into focus piece by piece. I could see the dark sky above, flickering firelight and smoke drifting thr

_Leah’s POV_The door wouldn’t budge. I pulled, pushed, slammed my shoulder against it, but it stayed locked. My breath came in short gasps and frustration boiled inside me.“Kayden!” I shouted again while pounding my fists against the wood. “Open this door! You can’t keep me in here!”There was no answer. Only silence and the faint echo of fighting from outside. My heart pounded so loud that it drowned everything else. I could still hear the clashing of metal, the roars of wolves and the cries of pain. The scent of blood drifted faintly through the air. It was sharp and heavy. I pressed my hands against the door and rested my forehead against it.He locked you in to keep you safe, Athena said softly in my mind.Safe? I thought bitterly. While he fights alone? While our pack bleeds? He is your mate. He fears losing you.“And what about me losing him?” I whispered aloud. My voice broke. “I can’t just sit here, Athena. I can’t.”Silence filled my head for a moment, then Athena said gent

  • The Luna Queen    Chapter 75

_Leah’s POV_That evening, the room felt quiet....too quiet. The candles flickered gently, throwing soft shadows on the walls. Kayden and I sat across from each other at the small table near the window. Dinner was served but I could barely taste anything. My stomach was tight. Every time I lifted my eyes, his gaze met mine, and my heart would skip.I tried to focus on my food. I pushed the peas around the plate, pretending to eat. My hands were trembling slightly, so I kept them in my lap when I could.Kayden was watching me. “You haven’t eaten much,” he said quietly.“I’m not that hungry,” I murmured while keeping my eyes on my plate. He smiled faintly. “You’re thinking too much again.”I frowned. “I’m not.”“Yes, you are,” he said and leaned forward slightly. “Your thoughts are loud. You’re worried about me reading them, aren’t you?”I froze. My cheeks heated instantly. “I’m trying not to think at all, actually,” I said quickly. He chuckled softly. “That’s impossible, Leah. You can’
