31: An Attack

I started running toward the direction in which the groan was coming from. I reached the spot where I thought the groan was coming from but couldn't see Kim. I gasped, feeling devastated.

I made my way back to my destination; however, as I was about to turn, I felt a grip on my neck. As I was navigating what it could be while trying to turn and face who the person was, I sensed the aroma of someone I had encountered often, and whilst trying to free myself from the person, a fang pierced through my skin.

"You fail! You can't do me any harm!" I rasped and applied more energy to free myself from the predator; fortunately, I managed to escape, but its sharp nails tried to grasp my leg as I ran out from it, but it couldn't; it only managed to scratch my skin, causing me serious injury, and it ran back into the dark wood without me even recognizing its face.
