"You know damn well what I'm talking about!" Althea stepped closer, her fists clenched at her sides. "When the current took me under, I called for help, and you just kept going! You didn't even look back!"

Esmeralda’s face hardened, the confusion giving way to rage. "I was trying to survive! We all were! I didn’t hear you, and even if I had—"

"You. wouldn’t. have.cared!" Althea’s voice was rising now, her anger boiling over.

"You're so obsessed with winning, with coming out on top, that you would have gladly let me drown just so you could be a step ahead!"

"That's not true!" Esmeralda shot back, rising to her feet. "You don’t know anything about what I’m going through! We’re all fighting for our lives here, Althea. If you want to make it out of this alive, you can’t expect anyone to hold your hand! And besides did you help the girl who died in the first games?” Esmerelda raised her eyebrow in question “Did you? Everyone was there Althea. She called for you.”
