Tony's hand stilled mid-air as Ruby's words sank in. He blinked, wondering if he had heard her correctly.

"What do you mean?" he asked, his voice coming out flat and emotionless.

He tried to hide his disbelief, but it was impossible to deny the shock coursing through him.

'Did I hear her words correctly?'

'Ah! No, I don't think so…'

'It's not true, hell no!'

There is no way she could have been on the run for three years—always in danger, even on the verge of death—for three good years without giving up if truly it was with someone else.

It just wasn't possible!

The words rang in his mind, over and over again, and he found himself frozen in shock.

"The halo didn't leave Salem City with me three years ago," she confessed, her voice soft but steady.

He felt a wave of disbelief wash over him, his heart pounding hard against his chest.

"You are kidding, right? This is supposed to be a joke?" he asked breathlessly as he gave her a pointed stare, his eyes filled with hurt and anger.
