Georgina Sinclair's POV:In the end, I gave in and rode Alpha Marius' back. And when we get to the edge of the woods, I am clinging to Marius' thick fur and mentally making a list of all the deities I am going to yell at later for putting me in this position.Because riding on the back of a massive Alpha wolf was not on my vision board. When he finally slows down, I can feel his body moving under me. His muscles are flexing and his fur are rising with a short gust of breath. He gently lowers himself like some royal steed letting his very reluctant passenger off.I slowly and awkwardly get off his back and allow my shoes to feel the squelch on the wet grass. My legs are numb and I probably look like a baby deer trying to stand up for the first time. Graceful? Not even close. The second I'm off his back, Alpha Marius steps forward and begins to shift. Soon, he is already standing tall and smug while the blanket is still draped on his shoulders. His hair is a little messy and the mist ha
Georgina Sinclair's POV:I look around when we finally leaves the hut. The ground is now soft and soggy. I hug myself when the chilling air passes by. It's still early and there is no cars or distant engines on the road. Alpha Marius is standing beside me with his blanket-turned-cloak over his broad shoulders like some ancient warrior prince. I try not to think about how good he looks even when the world is rainy and miserable. Then he leads me back to his parked SUV.We walk toward it together but I can already feel a deep pit forming in my gut. Marius opens the door, gets in and turns the key.The engine sputters for a second. And then... Nothing. He tries to start the engine again. But this time, his SUV is no longer starting.Alpha Marius lets out a long breath through his nose and leans back. He looks up at the ceiling as if he is trying to persuade the universe to cooperate with us."Still nothing." he muttered while getting out and shutting the door a little harder than necess
Georgina Sinclair's POV:After I finally pull myself up and wash using the rainwater that Alpha Marius had so thoughtfully gathered and I dry off with one of the softer blankets. The cool air is still lingering in the hut despite the sunlight peeking in. But I feel oddly lighter although I can't quite explain why.I glance at Alpha Marius again. He just finished wiping his face using a damp towel. And he is still half naked. Soon, I find myself staring at the side of his collarbone once more that I have to shake my head to get my eyes to stop."Are you going to be half-naked all day?" I asked.Alpha Marius looks at me over his shoulder with a grin that is far too smug for someone who just woke up next to a pile of ashes and damp logs."If you can miraculously produce a shirt for me out of thin air, I swear in my honor that I will wear it and never remove it again." he said while stretching his arms above his head. That movement is pulling every line of his muscles into sharper view. "
Georgina Sinclair's POV:The sunlight coming from the window wakes me up. My lashes flutter open slowly and I feel reluctant to leave my good sleep behind. The gentle brightness of morning is entering in from the hut's narrow window and it is landing directly on my face and it is forcing me to finally wake up. So the storm has finally passed. There is the faint chirping of birds outside the hut. But above all, the thunder has stopped. Seeing this, I try to remove the blankets from my shoulders.'Wait a minute. Blankets?' I blink my eyes again until my mind becomes clearer now. There is a familiar weight over me. I recall this thick fur lining was placed next to Alpha Marius last night.I look around and sees Alpha Marius is sitting on the wooden floor beside the fireplace. His head is leaning back on the stone wall and still fast asleep. And he is still very much half-naked.My eyes widened at the sight. His chest steadily rises and falls. His strong arms are loosely crossed. A few
Georgina Sinclair's POV:I can still feel it. It's the old surge of shame when I discovered my scent is fading. When Alpha Marius notices my defensive posture, he gives me a small but reassuring smile before putting more space between us."I did not mean anything by it." he softly said. "I was not trying to offend you.""I know." I answered too quickly. But I cannot help it. The patch in my neck is making me conscious now that he pointed it out. I clear my throat to hide my awkwardness in front of him."It is alright." I said.Alpha Marius doesn't press me about it. But after a long moment, he tilts his head slightly and looks at me."Do you... Do you feel uncomfortable with me?""...Huh?"His voice is quieter now. It's not hesitant but softer and sincere. And that makes me falter for a moment. My gaze drops to the floor and tracing the grain of old wood like it might offer me the right words."I'm not..." I begin then trail off. Then my hand touches from my neck before it lands in my
Georgina Sinclair's POV:The hut has been deserted for months. Many spiderwebs are hanging from the corners of the hut, the wood appears old and the roof is a little crooked. When Alpha Marius opens the door, he both notices the windows are dirty and the door is making a loud creaking sound. There is also a cloud of dust rising from the wooden floor of the hut when we enter it. The whole hut smells like old wood and stale air. But still, the whole structure looks solid overall. Although the hut doesn't have a regular maintenance, this place still looks sturdy enough to withstand a storm.Alpha Marius puts his duffel bag near the door and looks around like a trained soldier. I silently rub a thick layer of dust off the old table by the window with my fingers."It is not much." he muttered. "But this will do."Alpha Marius flips a switch he finds on the wall but nothing happens. I did not expect electricity. But my hope dies hard."There should be supplies left behind." he said and alre
