Georgina Sinclair's POV:

I can still feel the last of the tension as I see the large gates of the council estate. I feel like I am carrying the weight of everything. But beside Marius, I feel just enough at ease to keep moving forward.

Then I hear hurried footsteps behind us.

"Luna Georgina!"

It was Ver's voice.

I stop walking and sees Ver running toward us.

"Are you alright, Luna?" she worriedly asked.

I nod and shows her a tired smile.

"I'm fine, Ver. Really. I'm just... Shaken. That's all."

Her eyes quickly scan my face to look for any cracks in the lie. She must see something that reassures her because she finally nods. Although I can still see the worry in her expression. Then her gaze moves to Marius.

He is quiet beside me. He is not moving or saying anything. But I can tell he is watching her just like how Ver is watching him. Two unfamiliar wolves are silently sizing the other up.
