Georgina Sinclair's POV:The next morning, my body felt strangely heavy. My limbs felt heavy and little dizziness so I had to pause and take deep breaths.Marius, of course, noticed it immediately. He was already at my side. His usual calm demeanor overtaken by worry."You look pale today." he said checking my temperature with the back of his hand. "You should rest for today, Georgina. I'll take a day off to stay with you.""No, Marius. It's probably just fatigue. I think I've been overworking myself these past few days. A day of rest and I'll be fine.""I hate seeing you like this. You don't get tired this easily."I reached for his hand and squeezing it gently. "It's not really serious. I know you are quite busy with work and I don't want to cause you to lag behind. Lydia is going to be here to watch me while I rest."Marius stared at me for a moment. But soon, he let out a sigh and stood up."Fine. But if you feel even slightly worse, you will call me. Okay?""Yes." I softly said
Georgina Sinclair's POV:The sight of Marius's office had become familiar to me over the last week. Strangely, I had practically memorized the beat of this place. My own desk was now permanently placed in the corner of his office. At first, I'd assumed it was temporary. But Marius had made it clear that it was my space now. Even Harry had joked about how the office seemed more 'lively' ever since I started coming here every day.Despite Marius's repeated offers to officially bring me into the company, I had declined each time.I had told him firmly that I don't want any position in his company just because of our relationship. And besides, I already had plenty to deal with when it came to my own businesses especially after separating everything I used to share with Ryan.It had been a busy morning today. Marius was preoccupied with consecutive calls while I went through the files I had brought with me. But all of a sudden, I suddenly felt a wave of dizziness."Georgina? Are you hurt?"
Georgina Sinclair's POV:I was immediately welcomed to our land by the aroma of pine and new grasses. My nerves felt as if they were being soothed by it. I didn't realize how much stress I had been under since I parted ways with Marius earlier today. The first buildings of my pack's land appeared as the trees parted.Ver was the first one to spot me. She was talking to some of the warriors while she stood close to the training grounds. Her stern face softened as soon as she looked at me then approached me with deliberate steps."Lady Georgina." she greeted warmly. "You're back. I hope everything is fine."Despite feeling the fatigue pulling at me, I still smiled reassuringly at her."I'm fine, Ver." I said honestly. "Although there's lot on my mind lately."Her dark brows furrowed slightly but she didn't press me. Instead, she shifted her stance and crossing her arms as if bracing herself for a report. "And what about you?" I asked. "Has Ryan or anyone from the Rivermoon Pack come he
Alisa Han's POV:I let out a soft sigh after I left Alpha Marius's office and reached my car. Then I grabbed the phone from my purse to call my boss. It only rang twice before my boss's slightly amused voice came through the line.(Well? How did it go?)I buckled my seatbelt first before I answered her question. "Mr. Peddleton did not reject the proposal. But he did not approve it either."On the other end, my boss let out a low chuckle. (I knew it would be like that.)"Then should I schedule another meeting for you to speak with him personally?" There was a pause. Then a soft hum. (No. For now, we will focus on our current projects. It's too early to push. I will meet with him when the right time comes.)I nodded my head even though my boss could not see me. "Understood." I said. "I will go back to the office. But before that, can I go to the little bakeshop on Caramel Street? I need some pastries to survive the rest of this day."(Alright. Go indulge yourself.)Then I hung up a
Georgina Sinclair's POV:There was comfortable silence around us while we drinking our coffees. But suddenly, the desk phone on Marius's table rang. Marius set his cup down with a faint sigh and reached for the receiver. "Yes?"It was Harry who spoke through the speaker.(Sir, one of our clients just arrived.)Marius's brow furrowed. "What client?"There was a pause. Then Harry carefully reminded him.(The one you scheduled to meet this noon, sir. You mentioned it the other day.)I watched as realization dawned on Marius's face. It's a rare sign that he had, in fact, forgotten about that meeting."Ah." he exhaled slowly while regaining his composure almost instantly. "Bring him to the meeting room and have him wait for me. I'll be there shortly."(Understood, sir.)The line went dead with a soft click.Marius placed the receiver back on its cradle and stood smoothly. His eyes turned to me and softening a little."I have a client to meet." he said. "It shouldn't take long.""Go handl
Georgina Sinclair's POV:Soon, the door opened and the same employee from earlier stepped inside. "Sir, Miss Hans is here."Marius gave a short nod before his sharp eyes flickering briefly toward me as if silently checking if I was still alright. But I gave him a calm and reassuring smile. Then he finally turned back to the employee."Bring her in." he ordered.Soon, Alisa entered the office and showed a poise that only a woman in business life could possess. She looked professional with her her tailored cream blazer and well-styled hair. A faint floral scent followed her and immediately reminding me that she was an omega."Mr. Peddleton, good morning." Alisa greeted warmly before her eyes swept briefly to me. "Ms. Sinclair, hello.""Ms. Hans." I greeted her back with a small nod.Marius remained as unreadable as stone. "What brings you here, Alisa?" "This is not an official business visit." she began before moving closer to Marius's desk but carefully keeping her tone respectful.
