LOGINAlvin's POV
"Woah. Where the hell do you think you are going? What are you doing?" Kelvin shouted at me, and I growled back. "What the hell am I doing? Didn't you hear the girl? She hates Lycans. Do you really feel like there is some hope here? The way she talks about us Lycans depicts how much she loathes our existence. Do you think you'll get her love? Forget about her love. We might not even get the chance to know her. So, stop with your useless hopes," I asked my wolf, and he scoffed. "Yeah? And what about you? Don't you hate women too? Why did you go to her and asked her so many things? You were the one who wanted to dig deeper into her wounds and know more. You could've just given her some time and observed her silently, but what did you do? You suspected her. Given how intelligent she is, it's no wonder she found out your motives in an instant. If this gets ruined, then know that this is not on her or me but you," Kelvin said, and I gritted my teeth as I walked away from Kathy, back to the council chambers. "I don't know why she is not able to feel our bond or the love and sparks between us, and we should find out about it. Don’t you think it’s a bit strange? Aren’t you even the least bit curious about it? However, rather than doing what is important, you are just pushing her away with your repellent actions, and by saying such things, " Kelvin growled at me, and I stopped dead in my tracks, not believing what he said. "Wait. Do you think I am the wrong one here? I was just a little bit suspicious of her because I couldn't believe how she had such accurate information about all the things. Yes, I might've gone a bit overboard with my words, but can't you see the situation here? She hates the whole Lycan species, and I am the king. Naturally, she is going to loathe me," I said, and he scoffed. "Anyway, we made a bet, remember? You will let me take over for some time, and I can do whatever I want, and you won't say anything about it," Kelvin said, and I rolled my eyes before closing them. "Fine. Do whatever you want. Just stop with your nonsense. I am done with the adventures today," I said before taking a deep breath as I let Kelvin take over me. "I am glad you know how to keep your words," Kelvin said, and I hummed in the back of my mind. "What are you going to do anyway? We were just going back to the council chambers. You could've done this tomorrow if you want to go for a run," I said before squinting my eyes when I saw him walking back. "Wait. Kelvin, why are you going back to where we left Kathy? What are you thinking of doing now? I am asking you something, Kelvin. Where are you going? What do you want to do?! I hope you are not thinking of doing anything stupid," I said as I looked at Kathy, who was sitting on the ground, leaning against a tree, her complexion a bit paler than how I had left her. Is she too hurt? Did I do wrong by leaving her here? Huh, maybe Kelvin just wants to take her back to the council chambers. And why not? She saved us, after all. I thought before relaxing as I saw Kelvin helping her up, and I was about to comment on how whipped he was for our mate when he did something I never thought he would do. He kissed her. The jerk kissed her! This shameless wolf! How dare he! How will I be able to show my face to Kathy after this? I thought. "You rascal! Why would you do that?!" I shouted at him, and panic rose in my heart. However, I won't lie and say that the sensation of my lips on her didn't send shivers down my spine. It felt like this was the best feeling in the world, and no matter how wrong it was for us to kiss her like this, I wanted to do it not once or twice, but for the rest of my life. Wait. What the hell am I thinking? I need to get out of it. I thought before shaking my head and looking at Kelvin. "I did what I wanted. You can take over now," He said before letting me take control, and I looked at the girl in front of me in panic as she looked equally shocked while she looked at me, waiting for my explanation probably. Now how the hell am I supposed to explain kissing a girl I was shouting at a few seconds ago. "Are you out of your mind, Mr. Donald? I get you don't know how to say thank you or show your gratitude, but this is no way to thank a girl," She said before sighing and shaking her head, making me widen my eyes as an idea struck me. “I am sorry for leaving you here like this when it's me because of who you are like this. I wanted to apologize to you and say thank you all together. I am sorry if I hurt your feelings?" I said, unsure, my words not even making any sense to me, while Kelvin just snickered inside my head, making me edgier. "Okay, let's go now. I am tired," She said before nodding at me, and I nodded back at her, afraid that any word from me would ruin things even more as I started walking towards the exit of the forest. I took a breath once I was sure she was not angry with us or loathing us even more than before. After some prep talk, I turned my head to look at Kathy, who was leaning on my shoulder with her eyes closed, and for some reason, I felt something was wrong with her as she winced and whimpered in my arms. "Hey, Kathy. I know you feel wronged that my wolf, I mean, I kissed you like this, but you don't have to cry like this. You are scaring me now. Kathy, are you even listening? Please don't cry," I said, and when she didn't open her eyes even after a few seconds, I squinted my brows before running towards the council chambers as fast as I could. "Christian, quickly. Where is the medical room?" I asked, and he looked at me with a worried expression before looking at kathy in my hand. "What happened? Did she get hurt or something?" Christian asked as we rushed to the medical room. "Doctor, quickly check her. She was fine a few minutes ago and was even fighting with me, I mean, she was perfectly fine, but she suddenly closed her eyes and started whimpering," I said to the doctor, who looked at me before bowing. "Did she get hurt somewhere, King Alvin?" He asked, and I nodded. "A stab in the hand. I think they had laced the knife with Wolfsbane," I added, and he sighed. After checking her vitals, he put down the stethoscope before looking at me. "Nothing is wrong with her, King Alvin. It looks like she overworked her body in the past few days, and that's why when the wolfsbane met with her system, her already weak immunity made her dizzy," The doctor said, and I raised my brows. "You said she overworked her body? I get that. But shouldn't she be just resting after that? Sleeping, at best. Why the hell is she whimpering like this? Are you sure you checked everything?" I asked, and he looked at Christian and was about to say something when the door of the medical room was opened with a bang. "Kathy!" Henry shouted before rushing to the bed. I noticed how he lifted her head gently before placing her head in his lap as he patted her head slowly like a caring husband, making me grit my teeth as Kelvin started growling inside me. However, what shocked me, even more, was how kathy started breathing evenly as the crease between her brows eased out. "That's what I was talking about, King Alvin. She is just having some kind of nightmare or a bad dream," The doctor said before looking at Henry, who sighed before nodding at Christian, who helped the doctor out of the room. "King Alvin, if you don't mind, can you leave? Kathy hates it when someone sees her weak like this," He said, and I sighed. "She is in this condition because of me, and it's obvious I am not going anywhere until I make sure she is fine. Besides, we have something important to discuss," I said before holding her hand and massaging the back of it. "King Alvin, I understand you are genuinely concerned for our kathy, but she needs rest right now. I assure you I'll let her meet you the first thing she is awake," Henry started, and I was about to tell him I wasn't going anywhere when to my utmost shock, Amy moaned slightly before tightening her grip on my hand, and the next thing I know, she pulled me towards her, making me land beside her. I looked at Harry, shocked, not understanding what was going on, but judging from the look on his face, it looks like he was equally shocked. "I am so sorry, King Alvin. I am sure Kathy didn't mean it. She must be dreaming something severe," Henry started to explain, maybe thinking that her actions offended me. However, I couldn't help but feel content, seeing how she was trying to get closer to me as she was unconscious, and I smiled slightly. "Damn, she is stronger even when she is unconscious like this, no? I think she wants to hold on to me right now. Maybe she wants to hold me accountable for the pain I caused her today," I chuckled before touching her face, a small smile appearing on my lips when I saw her smiling. 'It looks like though her conscious self isn't able to recognize us, her unconscious self knows who we are, and that's why her body is trying to seek comfort in our arms,' Kelvin said, and I hummed in response, her soft smile, rendering me unable to move. "I don't think you should feel bothered with it, king Alvin. It's Kathy's old habit. She will get better soon," Henry said, and I felt a bit irritated with his voice. "I am sure that's not what she thinks," I said as I showed him my hands, which were gripped by Kathy in steel like a grip as her nails dug into my skin. "Let's do this. You go and check up on the matters with the rogues and how many things we confiscated. Prepare the list and everything, and I'll accompany Kathy till then," I paused before starting. "I am also feeling a bit low after today's event. I already traveled so much today to come here. I'll just sleep after she is fine. Don't worry. I won't leave until she is okay," I said. Gazing between Kathy and me, he paused at me, ready to say something when I pulled Kathy towards me, and before he could utter a word, he noticed how Kathy hugged my abdomen, purring like a cat, and I couldn't help but chuckle at her. Is this the same girl who was showing me her claws and telling me how much she hates Lycans and me? I thought before looking at Henry, who looked at me with an unsure expression before sighing and nodding as he stood from the bed and tucked Kathy's hair behind her ears. "Don't be afraid. I am there for you," he whispered in her ears, making her ‘hmm’ contently, and I sighed, taking a deep breath to control my emotions. "Then I'll leave her under your control, King Alvin," He said, making me nod before he gave Kathy one last look and left. Looking at the girl in my arms who was hugging me like I was her human pillow, I got a bit comfortable before pulling her up, making her hug my chest as I hugged her back, liking the feeling of it. I know I was acting a bit selfish and opportunistic right now as I know I hate women, but I guess it's okay to be selfish and take advantage of some things in some situations. Honestly, I like the feeling of hugging her more than I should. I thought before smiling. I was ready to turn off the lights at the bedside so that she could sleep peacefully, when she said something that made me pause in my actions. "Kate," She whispered, bringing me out of my thoughts, and I looked at her in confusion. Kate? Why would she take this name? Isn't this the same name as the girl who saved my sister? I thought before looking at the girl who smiled sheepishly before hugging me tighter.Kathleen's POV#Violent content. You can read or skip.#Opening my eyes with a shaky breath, I looked around myself, closing my eyes tiredly. A vision again?Currently, I was in what looked like a dungeon that was dimly lit with flame torches. With a shaky breath as I was having difficulty breathing in this dark basement kind of area, I walked towards where the faint sounds of people talking were coming. Wait. This doesn’t look like a vision. My visions aren’t so detailed.I know this was one of my dreams again. It's been so long since I had the last one. Two months passed, and I thought I was relieved from the horrifying dreams. Dad once said my dreams have a deeper meaning, but I don't think it’s true."Did you talk to her? Is she ready to talk? Where are the rest of them hiding?" A man said while standing near the staircase, and I hid behind the stone wall. The face of the men was blurred, and the only thing clear in their appearance was their ancient soldier costumes."We have tri
Kathleen's POV"What the hell, dude?" I shouted as soon as he put me down before swaying on my legs as my head felt a bit dizzy.I would've fallen, but he pressed me further into the tree, making me widen my eyes when he gripped my neck threateningly."You are hurt," He said, and judging from his eyes that were changing colors again and again, it looked like he was having trouble controlling his emotions."Well, thanks, Mr. Obvious. Now, will you tell me why you practically kidnapped me from the ball and brought me here?" I asked him, and he looked at my neck before holding my left sleeve and jerking it away, making it tear from my dress."King Alvin!" I shouted in anger, and he pressed me further into the tree with his body before doing something I didn't think he would do.He placed his lips on my mark where it was hurting the most, and I couldn't believe my ears when a moan escaped my lips."King Alvin, what are you doing? This isn't right. Ahhh," I breathed heavily, as he pressed
Alvin Donald's POV To say I was smitten with my mate's appearance today would be an understatement. When I had chosen this dress for her, I had merely thought she would look beautiful. I had never thought she would look this stunning and eye-catching. For once, I wasn't ashamed of saying I was smitten by a woman. I was so amazed by her beauty that I completely forgot how she tricked me into coming here alone. I thought my proposal of coming here together sounded interesting and appealing. Is it that the maid who came to me was lying to me deliberately? Could it be Henry's prank? Why would she change her mind at the last second? I will have to talk to her regarding this. Standing near the staircase with the rest of the Lycans, I looked at my mate, who was descending the few steps like a true queen, and my heart fluttered a bit. 'She is indeed our queen, and I am not hearing anything against her this time,' Kelvin said in a warning tone, and I scowled at his words. Why is he maki
Kathleen's POV"Kathy, love, let's not make a scene here and talk outside," Drake said, and I tilted my head before looking at his mate Liv.Taking the champagne glass from the waiter's hand, I leaned on the table before looking at him amusingly."Am I the one creating the scene? If you really wanted to save yourself from this scene, then my dear husband, you should've come and talked to me after this ball rather than calling me out when I am the center of attention. Do you even see how many people I have to attend to? Unlike a particular someone who has no better thing to do rather than clinging to his omega mate and making sure she feels safe in a place full of lycans and Alphas, I have to actually improve my connections," I said."Kathy," I heard the Lycan King's voice from behind me, and I noticed how Drake's eyes darkened as he released a low growl.I am sure he didn't like that someone else called me by a name he used to use when we were in our College days."King Alvin, I'll ca
Kathleen's POV'Caris, are you ready?' I asked Caris one last time, and she nodded, making me take a deep breath."Okay, let's do it then," I said before nodding at Henry, who nodded at the host."Next presenting in front of you is one of the chief guests of this year's annual ball. A lady who has repeatedly proven herself and her worth as one of the strongest women in the werewolf species. Everyone here might already know her since the rumors about this strong lady have spread like a wildfire in a forest. The lady who belongs to the Woods family and has maintained their prestige of not bowing down to anyone," The host said, and I really wanted to go up and smack his head for saying all these useless words. All I wanted was for him to say that Luna woods was coming. Why did he add so many useless things?"Here comes our one and only Luna of the Callisto pack, the untamed Kathleen woods," He said, and the guards opened the door for me, making me look at all the Alphas and their Lunas w
Kathleen's POV"It's nothing. He is just asking me to reject a marriage proposal," I made up, not even understanding why I would lie like that when I hate liars the most."Oh, anyway, how are you feeling? You have been down for more than 16 hours. Don't you think your immunity and body are kind of weak given how you have fainted two times in three days?" King Alvin said, and I looked at Henry, who just rolled his eyes before leaving the room, banging the door along his way, making Alvin raise his brows as he looked at me."Don't mind him. He is just moody like this," I said, and he nodded before looking at me seriously."Take good care of yourself. Didn't you say today is a big day since you need to accomplish many things? How will you do all of that if you'll be down like this?" King Alvin asked me as he neared me, and I sighed. He was right. How can I handle everything, including making a grand appearance, letting everyone know who is the deserving and fated Alpha of my pack, steali
