Chapter 1
Danika's POV: "Listen to me, Danika. You can never tell anyone about your wolves, do you understand?" I nodded my head. "Yes, mama." "No one must know." she whispered. "When do I get to shift?" I asked. "When the time is right, my love. You will know..." "Remember, we are always with you." my father whispered and kissed my head. That was the last day I ever saw them. That day, I felt warm, loved, and most of all, I had a home. Until they were gone, and I was all alone. BACK TO PRESENT--- "Get up, you wolfless bitch!" I felt a kick to my stomach and groaned. Here we go again. Another day, another she-wolf spits at my face to feed their damn pride. "I expect breakfast to be ready in ten minutes. You hear me?" she snarled. "Yes," I simply said and set out to work but she yanked my hair back, making me scream as instant pain shot from my scalp. "What did I tell you about answering me RESPECTFULLY, little b*tch?" she tugged my hair harder. I gritted my teeth knowing it would be way worse if I made a sound. She wants me to call her luna. But I never did, and it pisses her off. "You're still not going to say it?" she snarled looking at me expectantly. I pressed my lips together. "I will never call you that, Linda." I said firmly. She raised her brow at me. "And why the fuck not?!" she screeched. My ears hurt from her high-pitched voice. "A true luna would not behave the way you do." She scoffed. "And I suppose you of all people know how a true luna should act?" She snorted. "Don't make me laugh. You? You're nothing but a murderer. If it weren't for you, the Alpha and Luna would still be alive." she snarled. I drop my head. there is nothing I could say to that. She scoffed again. "Why do they have to sacrifice their lives for someone as worhtless as you?" she spat, sounding irritated. I keep my mouth shut, recalling that night that haunted me in my dreams, every night since. She shoved me forward, making me hit the attic wall that is converted into my room. My head hit concrete so hard and the impact sent me stumbling back and I fall to the floor. A ringing sound entered my hearing, my head throbbed. Linda kicked my back sending me forward again and my hands slammed on the wooden floor I caught splinters. "You will always be useless and pathetic wolf to him. So don't even think you could actually be luna. Even if, by some crazy miracle, that you turn out to be his mate, he won't bat so much as an eye for a murderer like you," she hissed, kicking me for the last time with her heels before she walked away. I did not mind her words. I have no interest in becoming luna, nor do I have any desire to be with her alpha. "Shame the betas died in their place. I guess karma is a real bitch," then she snorted and walked away. I felt my hands ball into fists and I bit my lip hard. I swallowed the metallic taste in my mouth and fought back tears threatening to escape. Forcing my eyes closed, I recall the words my mother whispered to me, knowing it always calms me down in just a few moments. "We are always with you," That's right. They are with me. Always. I waited until her footsteps completely faded away before forcing my body up and off the ground. Movement becomes yet another thing I must endure to get through the day. I sighed, picking up my apron beside my makeshift bed and wincing as I lifted my arms so I could tie my hair. It is useless, however, because no matter how much I try to lift them, the stabbing pain forces me to drop my arms back to my sides. I give up. I'll just have to make do with it for the rest of the day. Noticing the mirror, I stop, staring at my reflection. My naturally wavy white hair flows down my breasts. Something I had tried to hidr for years with cloths and handkerchiefs, but they always get noticed. A reminder of my beta lineage. A Solari. Apart from that, my eyes have two colors, blue on one side and green on the other, which makes me stand out even more. All the other maids have brown or black eyes. I have no clue if its a mixture of my parents' eye color or if it had something to do with me having two wolves. It would make sense, because Annika has blue eyes and Kanya have green. I shrugged. Not that it mattered. I can never shift or it would be risking both their lives and mine. After cleaning up my face a little, I went straight to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the Alpha and the entire pack. It is impossible to get breakfast ready for the pack in under ten minutes, but it is possible for the Alpha and Linda before he wakes up. Walking into the kitchen, I instantly receive murderous glares being shot in my direction from the omegas in here. I don't look. Instead, I pretend I am invisible as I do my first chore of the day. Still, my heart tugs painfully in my chest for the reason that, they all had watched me growing up. I was practically raised by them, too. The beta's daughter, they used to give me sweet treats when I sneak off from my parents. I guess it is just one of the privileges I once had, but not anymore. "You're not alone." Sandy, my first wolf, whispered in my head. "You have us." my second wolf, Selena, added. I sighed inwardly. "I know. Now hide. They will smell you." I tell them both. They didn't stay in my headspace any longer and retreated. It is far too dangerous. I shook my head and quickly make the sandwiches, tea for Linda and the Alpha's morning coffee. Just the way he likes it. After setting it all up in a single, large tray, I walked out of the kitchen. As expected, the Alpha is already sitting on the table. Linda, who is shooting daggers at me as I walked, sat on his right and placed her hand above his, squeezing it as if I was going to snatch him from her any moment. I bowed my head and bared my neck in submission. "Breakfast is ready, Alpha." He doesn't nod or speak, so I moved forward and set down the tray on the table. But then my foot tripped on something, making me stumble forward. I gasped as the contents of the tray splayed all over the table. Some of it splashed on Linda's face that made me feel secretly happy. but most spilled on the Alpha's shirt. My heart nearly jumped out of my chest when a threatening snarl sounded through the hall. I heard Linda snicker and I froze. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" he growled and I was about to apologize when his hand snatched me by my throat. I gasped.Danika's POVThe last challenge involves healing. Which is quite easy but harder for some. Or in particular, Perriwinkle."I can do it. Just give me five more minutes." she grits. The elders shake their heads. Elder Garrick looks furious. Silas looked speechless but his eyes kept on finding its way to me."The trial has ended. You lost." Elder Nora announced, no amount of speech can change her mind."No. I'm not finished." Perry's words came out through a whisper."Perry, it is done." A gasp erupts through the crowd when Silas spoke. His voice firm and his eyes are burning into mine."NO!" she screams, and her eyes, fully-black from a darkness I haven't seen before, shoot to me."So it is you." she says deathly cold, and stands. Her face darkens and suddenly I have a bad feeling about this."Perry, that's enough." Silas says warningly.Perry snorts, and in a flash, she is behind me, dagger pointed to my neck and I freeze
Silas' POVI grunt, panting as I thrust in and out of the beautiful woman on my bed. She is one of the best candidates but I would say she is the best. I am sure she would be my luna, so why wait? I thought, flipping her over and spilling me juices into her sweet little p*ssy."F*ck, baby, you're so good." I compliment, and she hums in respone. For some weird reason she only responds that way during sex. I always hit her in the back so I couldn't see the expression she makes every time I thrust, but I would like to see it now.I flip her on her back and begin pounding her wet, tight p*ssy, but when I look up, my face falls at the look on her face. She looks disgusted and bored to the point that it made her face turn green."Perry, what's wrong baby?" I ask in concern but she only shakes her head and stand up."I'm going to go get cleaned up," she mutters, and my heart fills with a sadness I can't explain.I sigh and move to take the shower next room. She doesn't like it when I invite
Danika's POVI told elder Nora everything that happened since I disappeared. Meeting the with coven owned by hybrid wolves, meeting Jonah and saving him from his darkness, and now Stephanie. I haven't told her about the part about the implant, however. I can't really trust her with that information. "Thank you for telling me, Danika. I assure you no harm will come to them," she assures me, and I nod sighing in relief. "But," she pauses, causing me to shoot my eyes to her. She looks conflicted."I need to discuss this with the council. If they find that strigois can be subdued and saved to the point they regain consciousness and humanity, we might be able to stop a war." she says, her soft expression now serious.I gulp and nod my head, looking over my shoulder to see a sleeping Stephanie on my bed."I will have someone prepare a room for her if you -""No," I say, and shake my head. "She stays with me."Elder Nora nods in understanding and bids me goodnight. Well, in fact, morning, b
Danika's POV:With Liam as an escort, we did not have any difficulties entering the border. I reveive a few scoffs by people here and there, curious gazes, and sneers of judgement among others. I let them roll off my shoulders like water on duck's feather. A few, though, have interesting expressions as they eye both men strapped to my sides. They are acting like my body guards, which I appreciate but would prefer they don't. Adeera's spell is mostly wearing off and I could feel more and more like myself now.More than that, his scent is strong from all the way here. My heart is pumping hard and fast I couldn't breathe. I feel a large hand squeeze my shoulder. Looking up to see my father giving me a small smile."That panicked look must mean something. Is he here?" he asks, a knowing look in his eyes. I nod once, and he looks at me as if he understands.Just as Liam reaches the top of the stairs going to the castle's main entrance, the doors burst open and my wolves peer excitedly thr
Danika's POVMy breath leaves my lungs in a broken gasp, staring at him. Liam gasps at the same time and narrows his eyes at him in my peripheral.“I left because your mother and I were bound by an old blood covenant,” he continues. “A familial soul-tie. It made me a threat to you. They would have used me to control you.” he says and as I attempt to comprehend his words, my hands tremble."Control me?" I question. He nods and looks at me sadly."They want to control you like they did your mother. Like you, she is a moon descendant, and the power that comes with it is something most will use to fulfill their own will. I promised her I will never let that happen. Your fate is for no one else to decide. Not by a witch, not even by a goddess. Your fate is yours and yours alone.""How... How did you find us?" I ask, looking between him and Liam.“Well it's who I found first,” he says softly, “I never expected to find you. Well, a part of you, through one of your mates. You life essence he
162 - Explains everything, his father familial bond and tie. Why he left her, why he now came and how he found out. He found his daughter's mate. Liam is all shocked in hearing this, he didn't know the big man was hiding something this big, But somehow he realizes it, the connection he felt to him. He helps her and Liam return to the castle to win the trials, for not only is someone there implanted by the witch hybrids, she is determined to help strigois overcome their darkness.Danika's POV“GET AWAY FROM HER!” a familiar voice roars in the air and I recognize it just as the bond comes alive abruptly. 'Mate.' My wolves whine, their voices weak as their spirits have been suppressed by Adeera.Suddenly, a blast of silver light detonates through the chamber. The chains around me shatter just before I collapse forward, gasping as arms catch me.A man I don't recognize holds me to his chest. My eyes blink slowly, as I try to catch a glimpse of his face. It is blurry, but his sillhouette
