NARRATIVE POV (2 years prior)

Something felt off about this whole thing, but he had no one to vocalize this with. What's worse is that Aria was leaving after this celebration. Aria had always been Oliver's best friend. They were incredibly close siblings, and better yet, she was Frankie's lifeline when it came to discussing problems in her life. And she had many. Oliver and his family saw how absent Frankie's family was towards her; it was always fine as long as Aria was there. Now that she was leaving, who would Frankie have?

That was what bothered Oliver the most, because he knew he couldn’t be. He needed to distance himself from her now, as he couldn’t stand there in love with her and watch her build a life with his younger brother. It hurt too much already, and she wasn’t even marked and mated.

Deek howled wildly in the open field. The pain cut deep for them both, but their hands were tied. The rules were to be followed; no exceptions could be made. The ranked members of the Blue

NARRATIVE POV“We will still succeed. Don’t worry about that. Aria is off the table. I won’t risk upsetting the Goddess and taking on her wrath. We don’t need the extra attention. No one else can mysteriously die in this pack, or the Royals will step in. That’s the last thing we need. Frankie’s body is missing, which is problematic enough; we still need to find it. We also need to figure out who the hell set that fire. Now Oliver and the Gammas are convinced that that is where Frankie was killed.” Aiden felt like he was spinning. This was supposed to be a simple plan, but he was already realizing that things weren’t as easy as Alice and her aunt had suggested. Maybe he shouldn’t have listened to them when they first met.Aiden bit the inside of his cheek. Sometimes he felt that Alice and Yasmin were plotting against him. It wasn’t what they said, it was what they didn’t say that made him worry. Was he being led like a fool?“Aiden,” Alice started again. She wrapped her arms around his

  • The Luna’s Wrath   Chapter 37

NARRATIVE POVFrankie watched from the shadows, her trio close behind, watching with an equally curious expression.Standing there, hidden before the cove next to the waterfall, mere feet from the edge of the pack border, was Aiden, Alice and their small group of friends. Troy Presley and Parker Dillion are among them. Frankie narrowed her eyes at the two males who made it their mission to taunt her and side with Aiden’s harsh words and disregard for her when no one else was around. If she could have retaliated against Troy years ago, she would have, but Alpha Tom made it clear that neither Frankie nor Troy was to be around one another. Little did Alpha Tom realize that his son, Aiden, had made it a welcome invitation for Troy to regularly torment her with taunts and baiting.Pushing those haunting emotions aside, Frankie focused her mind on the task at hand.Initially, she thought her targets to regain her life back were simply Aiden and Alice, maybe haunt Oliver and the Alpha pair s

  • The Luna’s Wrath   Chapter 36

ARIA POV“I never said you did. But now I am starting to think you might have. Why would you jump to defending yourself about the murder of Frankie when all I was accusing you of was sleeping with a married man a few days after his wife died?”Murmuring broke out around us, and I watched panic flash across Alice's face.Did she do this?Lyra was fighting to take over. The thought of Alice harming our pack sister was tearing her up.“No, I didn’t do anything to Frankie. I swear.”“Then why did you bring it up?” I looked around at the group. Many of the expressions appeared as confused as I was.“Does that make sense to anyone else? You have all heard it. I was addressing her as a homewrecker, and she was the one who immediately defended herself about the mysterious death of Frankie. Am I wrong to suspect a slip of the tongue?”The responses were mixed. Many wanted to believe it was rogues, as a few warriors were pushing the narrative, but the majority were becoming as suspicious as I w

  • The Luna’s Wrath   Chapter 35

ARIA POVJust as I was about to step into the packhouse, someone sneaking off to the left of me caught my attention.Alice! That little homewrecker had the nerve to sneak out the back door. I knew exactly where she was coming from—Aiden's suite.I left my luggage at the door and quietly followed her trail.I took in her dishevelled state and smeared makeup, and it was clear what they were doing. My heart squeezed at the thought.Frankie had only been gone for a few days, and this little hussie and my brother still couldn’t show a little restraint and respect. With clenched fists, I charged after her, grabbing her by her messy hair. I yanked her back roughly, causing her to fall to the ground.“Sneaking off, wh.ore?” I snarled. Lyra was begging to come out. We both wanted to tear her to shreds. Even if we couldn’t tie her to Frankie's death, she was still at the root of Frankie's misfortune and misery. She was nothing but scum, and I planned to ensure that she was removed from the pack

  • The Luna’s Wrath   Chapter 34

ARIA POVMy heart clenched at the thought. My wolf, Lyra, whimpered. She was a sister to us, and she was hurting without anyone to help her through it. Sure, she could have technically come to talk to us, but I know my parents were determined to make this marriage work. Had Frankie gone to them? Did they tell her to grin and bear it for the term dictated? It sounded like something they might do, although they didn't fully understand the extent of her misery. Did she go to Oli? He’d become distant and cold after the wedding. Were they still even friends?I had too many questions, and I was going to get them all answered. Frankie was a part of my soul. I loved her with everything in me, as did Lyra. We were going to figure this out.We pulled up to the pack house, a place that once brought me smiles and laughter, but now felt like a cold tomb. There was no joy without Frankie in this house, because without Frankie in it, it wasn’t a home anymore.I stepped out of the car while my driver

  • The Luna’s Wrath   Chapter 33

ARIA POVI was about to enter our pack territory, and I noticed that the aura around the pack was dark and reeked of death and doom. It was unexpected and unsettling. My pack has always felt warm, welcoming and joyful.I had only been gone for two years. It had never felt like this before, so did it happen while I was gone, or was it because of Frankie's death?Just the thought that Frankie was gone brought tears to my eyes. Again.Frankie.My Frankie!A sob shook my body. My assigned pack driver watched me struggle to compose myself in the mirror. He handed me back a tissue with a sympathetic smile.“Miss Aria, the pack has been blanketed by a sheet of sadness for the past week. Nothing feels like it did before. Many are hurting over this loss.” My driver says, I detect sadness in his tone.Frankie was kind to everyone, as long as they didn’t pis.s her off, that is. She was a firecracker when she was in warrior mode. She became an unstoppable beast in the training matches, but outsid
