FRANKIE POV

I knew she could see the top of her aunt's head from behind the recliner in the living room. The same recliner she would cozy up in when she watched TV late at night.

The television was on. The show I wrote for her was on loop, playing over and over again.

The more Alice yelled at her aunt with no response back, the more agitated and unnerved she became. I watched as her eyes narrowed at the top of her aunt's head, slowly approaching her from behind.

“Aunt Mindy, why aren’t you speaking to me?” I not only heard the tremble in her voice, but felt it.

I sat on my hunches in the nearby shadow and watched. My eyes widened with excitement.

Alice’s eyes drifted from her aunt over to the television.

I watched as the recognition took hold of her features.

“Hey, Alice. Remember me?” My voice played from the television before my figure came into focus.

She could see her aunt struggling in the restraints I had previously set up for this performance. Yasmin struggled desperately; her

  • The Luna’s Wrath   Chapter 142

FRANKIE POVHow do you figure someone like that out when you only realize you were mastering checkers, and she was the Queen on the chessboard next to them? She had been putting all of this into motion perfectly for just over two decades. We were never even playing the same game. Didn't know we had to.That’s Ultra Villainess level. But why?My only hope is that my dad will be gifted someone to love genuinely and wholly when this is all over. He was robbed of his mate, only to be given a heartless, vile monster for over two decades in return. He deserved someone warm and kind.I truly wanted that for him. He may not have been the best Dad. And we always butt heads, but at the end of the day, he is a man with a heart, and it's been broken too many times in the most horrendous ways. He deserved a second chance. I prayed he got it.With a heavy sigh, I shook my head and turned away from my home, walking back into the forest.I couldn’t find Oliver, but I knew that I needed to sneak back

  • The Luna’s Wrath   Chapter 141

FRANKIE POVI can’t find Oliver anywhere.I have travelled through the entire packlands twice over, and he was nowhere to be found. It was alarming, to be honest. Not knowing where he was made me feel unsettled because it made us all vulnerable as a result. He could be literally anywhere, watching and waiting to pounce. If we can’t find him, then no one will be safe. There were a couple of options here. Either Oliver went underground and waited for his time to strike, or he left the territory in search of another witch. Both were very plausible, and both were equally terrifying.Either way, I needed to let Tristan know so that he could be prepared and ready for a possible surprise attack. No one but I knew that Tristan had regained his sight. We planned to keep it this way until absolutely necessary to share with others.Despite needing to find Oliver or letting Tristan know, there was something else I needed to do.She wasn’t directly on my vengeance list, but she was a contributing

  • The Luna’s Wrath   Chapter 140

OLIVER POVIt was a narrow path made of cement and steel beams.I hear the voices again, they’re growing louder. My eyes drift down, and there I see a small vent. Through the vent comes minimal light, but also voices.Aria! I can hear her.Her voice is tight. I know my sister better than most. Something is bothering her. She’s emotional. Hurt. Angry.“What’s wrong?” I recognized Tristan’s voice speaking. “Did something happen when retrieving the herb?”Herb? What herb? Shouldn’t they be focused on finding me, rather than foraging in the forest?“Yes, we did, but we found something else on the route back here.” A woman I didn’t know spoke.I dropped to my belly and stared into the vent.Ah, it was the Royal Captain who came with my cousin, Tristan. I couldn’t remember her name, but I knew right away she was a clever female. She made Vinny wary from the moment we met her.“What else did you find?” I noted that Tristan's voice was slightly more pitched. There was a hint of panic in it.I

  • The Luna’s Wrath   Chapter 139

OLIVER POVI woke up in a strange area.I had no idea where I was or how long I had been pushed back.Vinny was growing stronger, making it harder to fight him. The last thing I remembered was dropping the key to the shackles next to Brea before Vinny could resume control. It wasn’t easy, and he hadn’t noticed. Not until he realized my thoughts later on.I made the mistake of wondering if Brea had gotten herself free yet, and Vinny had managed to intercept those thoughts.I was still present, watching from the back of my mind as he took control and ran us back to the hiding place where he had kept her.He had too many of these places, and each time one was discovered, he became angrier and more frantic, forcing me back further.I needed them to find us, but at the same time, the more emotional Vinny became because of them closing in, the more control he seized as a result. It was a double-edged sword and one I was continuously impaled upon.Deek was gone. I knew that without a shadow

  • The Luna’s Wrath   Chapter 138

NARRATIVE POVCourtney looked behind her and shook her head at Brea's question. “Oliver, or should I say, the monster inside of Oliver, is not Vengeance, but brutality. The murders are completely different. Dark Sister collects only those who are tainted and have committed unforgivable crimes against innocent wolves, typically females whose mates have wronged them. Oliver’s monster is killing for the pleasure of it. There is a huge difference between your two male friends and the two females. Like with this body, your two other male friends were found with cryptic messages written by them and their organs removed. That is textbook documentation of Dark Sister.”Brea nods mutely.“So, am I next?” Brea whimpered.“No. I don’t believe you are.” Courtney states with certainty. “I believe you were spared. I believe the males were because they had more active roles in the deceit surrounding the crime, and Aiden Harris and Alice Blake were the perpetrators of the offence itself.”Aria’s eyes

  • The Luna’s Wrath   Chapter 137

NARRATIVE POVThe warriors carried the remnants of Aiden's body out of the cabin and loaded it onto one of the ATVs. The remaining warriors ran alongside the caravan of ATVs back to the packhouse.Neither of the women spoke, all silent for different reasons.Brea couldn’t shake the feeling that she was next. She had to be. Everyone who sinned against the crimes done to Frankie weeks ago is all now gone, murdered in the most horrific ways. She would be naive not to think she would receive some punishment. This has to be Oliver; she would have been murdered, too. Brea was struggling to keep her calm, but cracks were beginning to show. She wondered if she would be smarter to run from the pack and turn rogue. She didn’t want to stay and risk anything happening to her mother and stepfather.Aria was numb. Her brother was lying cold and shredded apart in the cargo box on the second ATV behind theirs, and she didn’t know how to process her thoughts on the entire matter. The message was clear
