“So, you want me to believe Alastair saved you and didn't beat your ass for entering the woods?” Kai ridiculed the entire incident of the wolf attacking me in the woods and Alastair protecting me from it.

Yeah, it was a bad idea to share with Kai.

“Why would he... beat my ass?” I had to ask. I needed to converse with him in order to ignore the glares the slaves were shooting at me. We sat on the couch of the living area in the hall— okay, it was my plan. A very bad one.

Now, I regret not taking Kai inside my room, and force him to do whatever he wants in front of everyone. Still, I won't blame myself cause, come on, how was I supposed to know Kai didn't mean harm?

“You don't know a thing.” Kai scoffed. “Oh, you don't know him at all.” It was a flat statement and vastly, a truth that annoyed me.
