6. Lock her up

With tiny leaps and slow gulps I followed a man whom I knew nothing about, my eyes were blinded with tears and my body was starting to ache.

I couldn't lift my leg any further so I stopped walking, causing him to check up on me.

"Does it hurt that much?" His deep blue eyes stared at me. His words were so cool and comforting that I forgot how to reply.

"I don't think she can walk any farther, let's just take her to a secure place or leave her to her guardians." The other man chimmed in.

"No" I said in a small shout, "I want to go back, my uncle will kill me if he finds out about this." How could I have forgotten so soon what my uncle's wrath is like.

I better go back to Ryan or things will get messy. With a shivering voice I snatched my hand away from the man.

"What are you doing? You need to get treated." He said in concern but I was too scared to allow that.

"I don't know you people, I'm sorry I can't go with you guys, I need to go back to my family." I managed to mutter.
