SANDY:
My parents sold me off? But how could I have heard different versions in the story earlier? Which between my parents and the Lycan King was telling the truth now? Probably the Lycan King. My parents may not be the doting parents that I wanted them to be, but they were not that evil to sell me off even when I was a baby, right? I wanted to know the truth right away! I refuse to believe His Highness. He might be lying! If your parents did not sell you, how could you live in luxury despite having slave status? A couple of years ago, right after they got to see this man, Mom said they brought their freedom. "Of course you do not believe it," the Lycan King said, disappointment flashing on his face. "Like what the rumors had reached your eyes, I am one ruthless man." Was he aware of the rumors? And what did he do about it? Did he ask his warriors to kill those bastards who spread lies using his name? Lies? How could you tell that he was lying? How could you tell that? "You are. Taking me away from your parents is one ruthless thing to do. We haven't even married yet. There was no talk of the marriage or any arrangements." The only thing that I knew was that I was going to marry this man. He might be the Lycan King, but his status did not faze me at all. Because there is only one person you want right now. Alpha Oswald. Despite claiming you hated that man, the love you felt for him did not vanish. At all. And I will marry this man without any feelings? Was that okay for him? I was certain he did not have any feelings for me too even if we were mates. The corner of His Highness' lips lifted. "You don't believe what I said that your parents had sold you, unlike what they claimed to tell you." I clenched my palm into a fist. "You might be lying," I spat. "I trusted my parents more." "You trusted your parents who hurt you? Don't think I did not ask someone to monitor them. They have my gold." He smirked. "They accepted the gold I had given them. Tell me I am lying, but they even urge you not to take a man until you marry me." I bit my lower lip. Maybe I could not accept the fact that my parents did not have any inkling of love for me. Anyone on their right hand would never hand their daughter to someone whom they did not even know, even if it was the Lycan King himself. They would fight their daughter until their last breath. Tears simmered in my eyes. How could they? I hated how he was right, but there was no way I would claim that he was. "I don't know what you're talking about. My parents would never sell me to you." Which they were already capable of doing. There was no denying to that. However, I wanted to maintain my dignity and stood proudly in front of this arrogant Lycan King. He threw back his head and laughed darkly that the hair on my arms stood right away. Not only was he weird, but he was also...scary. Imagine marrying someone like him while fearing your life that you might be dead next time. And the chances of the union between a Lycan and a werewolf was slim. It was unheard off. What about the pups they will have? Was it more Lycan or more werewolf? I mentally shook my head at the flow of my thoughts. "Every gift I had given them were all received and they affixed their signatures all the time claiming that they had taken great care of their daughter who was promised to marry the Lycan King. Bullshit," he said and his eyes glinted. "You want proof that your parents lied to you?" Now, it was finally clear to me that he wanted me to hate them. Because of what? For accepting his gold? I held my breath and the defense that I built around myself was slowly crumbling away. And the Lycan King could see that. He scoffed, pulled away and continued walking, leaving me alone while I tried to forcibly digest what he just said. -------------- It was one of the grandest rooms that I ever saw. The room that the Lycan King had brought me felt like it was already in paradise. The king-sized bed was decorated with petals all over it as if someone was having a honeymoon. The room uses earthy warm colors while the floor to ceiling glass window showed the high rise buildings of the neighboring cities. "This will be our room,” he informed me. Scanning the surroundings, I asked, "You claim that my parents sold me to you." "It is true," he said. "Why? You still don't believe me?" "How can I be sure?" I bit the inside of my cheeks. He clicked his tongue together. "If you were not my mate and my future wife, I would be completely annoyed at the way you keep on asking questions." "Ah. I forgot. Men loved their women to be submissive. The kind of woman who will do whatever the man likes, where they can always press whatever they like, without the woman saying anything in return. Yes, woman." He scowled. "Funny how that child whom I saw turned out to be feisty." I was about to give him a smart comeback, but he held his hand in the air. "Enough. You've been talking too much. I don't like nosy and noisy women. I do hope we are clear about that." Putting both my hands in front of my chest, I said, "I do hope, too, that you understand that I want to return to my parents and demand an explanation right away, Your Highness." He scoffed. "Who said you're allowed to go back? Escape and your family will face the consequences." It was a threat coming from him, something which he was capable of doing. I narrowed my eyes. "What kind of consequences is that?" "It's death."SANDY:I nibbled on my bottom lip. My eyes went to the Lycan King who was snoring softly. It will take a long time for him to awaken. I need to make use of the time and return as fast as I can so that he will not know where I have been.I had to end this as fast as I could. If I won't, Oswald would continue to try to save me from the Lycan King. Something which I did not even need. Especially from someone like him. Someone who had hurt me in the past. ‘This will be the last time that we will be seeing each other, Alpha Oswald. The last time, you understand? Where will we meet?’There was silence on the other line. ‘The usual place, Sandy,’ he answered quietly. ‘The abandoned greenhouse?’ I asked. It had overgrown vines and was almost half forgotten by most of the pack. Rumors had said that there was a ghost of a woman who was waiting for her mate there. However, until now, no one has been able to prove the said rumors. There was gossip that it was only meant to scare the childr
SANDY:Would the king accept a barren woman? A barren queen? A barren mate? His answer would show if his love was conditional or not.Love?Who said he loved you?I meant…if his acceptance was conditional or not. I waited for Lucius's answer. Really waited.“Did you ask a doctor to check on you?” he asked, his voice controlled. I scowled. “My Mom had a hard time conceiving me and the rest of the women in our family. What if I inherited those genes?”Those were the truth. It had been a problem among the women in our family. "Are you saying that just to make me not marry you?" he asked. “I’m telling the truth, Your Highness. Why would I joke about that, especially if there were women out there who shared the same problem as mine?” I asked. That was also the reason why I finally agreed to give my body to Alpha Oswald. Ninety percent…I believed that I would not get pregnant right away.A low growl escaped his lips.“I'm not in the mood to joke at you right now.”“I'm not. Answer me,
SANDY:“Y-You’re jealous?” I asked. “Why would you be jealous?”“Did I say that I am jealous?” he asked, smirking.I clenched my fist, stopping myself from punching him. He was messing with me. “You clearly said that one. You think I am deaf?”“I never said you are,” he stated, stopping himself from laughing. What the…I growled and threw another pillow at him. It hit him on the face. “What are you? A child?” he asked, clearly annoyed at what I did. As if I cared.“Stop saying nonsense. I hate you. What a great liar you are, Lucius.”“I love you, too,” he said, full of sarcasm.I love you…My heart almost stopped beating. It was full of sarcasm, but the effect it had on me was…quite different. Something which I did not expect at all. My heart raced as if it were going crazy just because he said he loved me. It was nothing but a prank. To mock me. To taunt me. “That was not a good joke,” I said.“Did you believe it? Did you fall for it, Sandra? Or are you the kind of woman who ea
SANDY:“Alpha Oswald?” I asked and rubbed my eyes to verify if I was dreaming or not.He lost a lot of weight and there were wounds that were currently healing. Some old wounds become scars. His cheeks had sunk like a ship. It looked like he suffered a lot in that dungeon.Alpha Oswald was barely breathing. Or maybe barely living. The circles around his eyes were darker than the king’s soul.My stomach twisted as I continued staring at him. How did he manage to return to the pack? He will only be allowed to come out of his dungeon with the king’s permission. Glancing at my back, the king and my eyes met, wanting him to explain what the heck was going on.Earlier, we argued about the release of the alpha. And he insisted that he would not be released unless I agreed to his condition…Facing the king, I scowled at Lucius. “Could you explain why Oswald is here?” I asked. “I thought…”The corner of his lips lifted. “Surprise,” Lucius said. “You have what you want. Which means it’s ti
SANDY:I truly hated Lucius' guts. I hated how he knew that it was true. That I was craving for a man's touch. Sometimes, it was lonely at night.Did I ever get tempted to touch myself? Sometimes, but I diverted my attention to other things.I made a promise that the next man I would let touch me would be my future husband. Lucius was your future husband, the other part of my mind said. I mentally shook my head. What was embarrassing was that it was no longer Alpha Oswald that I wanted to be with. But him. And as much as I hated to admit it, his kisses were so good that I almost forgot that I had to stop myself from getting swayed by the emotions.Damn it.How could he have that kind of effect on me? Wasn't I supposed to hate him after buying me?What changed? 'Why would you hate him when he has the right to buy you? Buying slaves is not something that is taboo. It's perfectly acceptable,' Rina defended. My beast would always defend him for as long as she could. That was how fool
SANDY:In my anger, I threw the pillow right at the Lycan King. It hit him in the face, making his eyes widened in surprise. “You! No one is allowed to hit the king like that. Do you know I could punish you for that?”Punishment? Like what he did to Oswald? As if that would scare me at all. "I hate you!" I stated. "I hate you so much, Lucius. I would never ever accept you as my mate and my future husband!”If someone heard me right now, they might be raising their eyebrows at me. Imagine. How could a woman carrying a slave's blood say no to the king? Only me. The most brazen one. "You hate meals because I did not want to release your man?”“That's not the only reason! There's a lot more things to say! You're the most unlikeable king I ever met!”His eyes narrowed. “I'm not looking for a charity, Sandra. If you want something, give something in return. You know what I want, Sandra. I won’t force you to give it to me. All I am doing is giving you a chance.”If you won't take it, do
