WEDDING DAY

“Get the earrings! Get the… don't let it ruin her dress. Be careful with the makeup. Don't apply a lot of powder… use a fuller brush… be easy while you do that…”

Ma'am Lucy’s orders echoed in the room. Derrick had specifically appointed her to cater for Lia for the wedding. She wanted it to be perfect.

Servants trotted in and out carrying whatever she had requested. Lia sat on a chair before a mirror.

The makeup woman worked on her face. Another one stood behind her offering the makeup lady the tools she needed. Yet another was lowered beside Lia prepping her dress.

Sounds of footsteps went in and out of the room. Lia couldn't place any of it.

The nervousness sliced through her stomach. She desperately craved to eat her nails. Just couldn't. It had been painted so beautifully she couldn't dare ruin such beauty and hard work. Asides that, ma'am Lucy would turn pale.
