Alex, the Lycan king, sat on his throne, looking at the scrying orb. He needed to find out the whereabouts of a certain man he had been chasing for years. This man had somehow harvested the power to control mindless rogues.

This was an urgent issue he needed to resolve as soon as possible. If this man was given the slightest opportunity, he might destroy the peace Alex had worked hard for. He was a very thorough king. If he wanted something gone, he dealt with it from the source. This time, the cause of the trouble was a man hiding somewhere from him, plotting his next attack.

He did not have much information on him, so it frustrated him to no end. He was busy trying to track him down when his trusted advisor, Parton, came into the throne room to inform him about something very important.

“You didn’t knock, Parton,” Alex remarked, filled with anger. He stood in his full height and faced his advisor. "Now, give me a reason why I shouldn’t send you to the moon goddess right now." He was huge with a shoulder-length blonde hair. His brown eyes weren’t exactly brown every time. The intensity of the color would change depending on his mood. His broad wide shoulders made the throne look small.

Slowly, he walked towards his advisor. Parton was really going to get what's coming to him if he didn't have something reasonable to say.

"Sir, I'm sorry. I wouldn't have barged in like that if it wasn't urgent," Parton said in a hurry, visibly shaken. He couldn't wait to leave the throne room and relay the information he came for.

"What is it, Parton? Spit it out!" Alex was already in front of him when he said that. At that moment, he was more frustrated and in no mood to dilly-dally over petty matters. If that was the reason Parton, his advisor, interrupted him, then he was really going to teach him a lesson.

"We have found the location of the man you are searching for," Parton said quickly. That was the last thing Alex thought he would say. There he was, searching all night with the scrying orb, and Parton simply found the same man he was looking for without a scrying orb?

"How did you find him without a scrying orb?" Alex asked his advisor, narrowing his eyes at him and looking suspicious.

"We used... a tracking device. During his last attack, we had a tracking device planted on both him and some of the rogues," Parton explained, almost facepalming himself.

A tracking device had to be one of the many modern technologies popping out of nowhere these days. Alex was not interested in these modern gadgets. He had it installed in his mansion during its renovation, but he never bothered himself with it.

Being very powerful, he never saw the need for any of these technologies, especially a phone. Why would he get himself a phone when he had the mind links of his pack and every pack in the world? However, if the technology could help him save his people, he was willing to put his attention there.

"Finally, you have proven yourself to be of use," Alex said, giving his assistant a pat on the back before leaving the throne room.

"Where are they?" Just when he had already gone out of the throne room, he remembered to ask.

"They are on their way to New York. Should we alert the pack there?" Alex's advisor, Parton, still sounded frightened.

"No, Parton. It will only cause unnecessary chaos." Alerting the pack would only bring panic. Alex planned to finish them off before they even got to New York.

As the Lycan king, Alex was blessed by the goddess with many things. Power, great leadership skills, many things at once. But, he had not been blessed with a mate. He found it hard to admit to himself. But, he needed a mate to call his own, someone to come back home to every time he fought off those rogues.

His existence was getting really lonely, and he spent his leisure time venting his frustration on his subjects sometimes.

As he approached the intelligence room he had built up decades ago, he barged in. "Get me the device that will show me his coordinates, now!" Alex ordered.

As he passed by, everyone scurried away from him. Only one man bravely stood at the end of the line with the device. He grabbed it from him and left immediately.

On his way out of his mansion, he met his advisor walking towards him. The advisor had his head down, so he didn't notice him till he gave him an order. "Have the night patrol doubled."

"Yes, sir!" The response was immediate.

 •••

Meanwhile, somewhere in a dark cave, a man sat on a luxurious sofa. Considering the condition of the cave, the sofa looked out of place. There were cobwebs in the cave, and a lot of rogues laid down on top of each other, sleeping. The man had made it like that. As fun as it was using these mindless rogues, he hated the disturbing sound they made in the dark.

Finding a cave on his way to a city filled with werewolves was hard. For some reason unknown to him, there weren't as many caves as he had imagined. Now, he was forced to rest with them in a filthy small cave.

He tried going online to kill his boredom. But it didn't work. So, he left the cave unsupervised and went to do a little killing here and there, have a little fun, sleep with a lady. Certainly, there had to be something out there other than that horrible cave he was in.

Quickly, he got properly dressed and left the cave. There had to be some fun he could have that night before he attacked New York. He happily left the cave with a thought that everything was going according to plan.

He didn't know what was coming for him.

He had her wear a blindfold and carefully guided her steps to the bed."Sit".Gently, she sat on the edge of the bed, waiting for what would happen next. Her heart was beating profusely while she swiped her tongue on her lips to wet them."How did you know about all of this?" Amelia tried to start a conversation. "I never left you. I had you in my mind the whole time and I am never going to leave". He bent a knee and dipped his hand into his pocket."Open your eyes, Amelia", he said to her while he positioned well. "I want you to be my wife again. My love for you has never left. Let us renew our vows".Amelia took off her blindfold to find the love of her life kneeling before her. Those eyes were sincere and kind. She held her breath and covered her mouth. "What are you doing?""I'm asking you to be my mate again. Love me like I was dying. Please, marry me".Amelia swallowed down. Her cheeks turned red. "You're making me smile"."Yes, a

Amelia watched all that was happening with an open mouth. All her sadness had seeped out of her as she was now surprised."We are giving you one last chance, Sandra. You better confess".Sandra hissed many times as she felt a sting in her side. It was getting worse. Her flesh was now half gone. "Give me a shot. I'm in pain!".A nurse moved to her. She wanted to administer something but the alpha stopped her. He looked into Sandra's eyes, "Confess or you will die alone and before all of us".Tears rolled down Sandra's eyes. She looked over at Amelia, "This is all because of you"."You wouldn't let me have the man of my dreams".Alex blocked off her view. "You make it seem like she had been the one who forced you to have the kind of life you wanted. Do you not know I have been watching you?".He snapped his finger and the guard she had been with approached them."Say hello to Cornell. He is my cousin but I made sure you didn't know about him. You and Cornell made love last night. Didn

She stopped to draw in a new one. "Where could her baby be?".She thought of going back to Maxwell. He might have had a clue, but she was not so sure. She wanted to ask for help from Alex. He would have been concerned in times like this but she could not also go back to him. Her oath still held her back. Filled with frustration and anger, Amelia sat by a river bank and began to cry."How about you go meet the Alpha? He might be able to help after all." " her wolf whispered to her. Amelia stopped to think, "But we aren't allowed to meet with him"."You're not allowed to meet as lovers or mate but that shouldn't stop you from meeting and asking for help. What if he could be the only one to help?".Her wolf made a valuable point to her. Amelia sprung up on her feet and began to make her way to A

Alex sat comfortably on his bed. He heard a knock on the door and walked over to open it. "Have you gotten it?", He said as he unlocked the door and pulled it open. The rogue walked through with a baby in its hands. He still had his dark cloak on which covered his face.He stopped by a chair and then handed the sleeping child to Alex."I found what you had wanted. You will keep to your part of the deal right?"."Of course. You have helped me and I will do as you please". He smiled, "However, do you still wish to go on with your revenge?"."I came to help you out because of the genuine love I saw you have for your mate, I bargained for you to help my people while I sacrificed myself"."I know but must you take your life also?" Alex took the baby from his hand. The child was fast asleep, making light snores as he cradled up on Alex's broad chest."I have to". He turned around and walked to the door. He stopped when he placed his hands on the doorknob. "I am taking you as a man of you

Sandra's spy made his way to her room. He was known for being stealthy and that was the reason she had picked him as hers in the first place."What do you find?" she asked as soon as she saw him. His eyes met hers underneath his mask. She could see those but not his lips. No one had ever seen his lips."Alpha Alex had someone come into his chambers when you were not around".He mumbled underneath the mask.Sandra sprang up on her feet. "Did you find out who it was and what they brought to him?"."No".She drew in a deep breath and walked to him. "What's the use of having a spy like you if you can not get simple things done?".Her spy stood still. He apologized after he was scolded.Sandra groaned. "I don't take 'sorries', you have to compensate for this somehow. She moved closer to him. His scent became more prominent. She drew in all of it."How can I please you, Luna?".She watched him say.
