Author's POV.

Killian hissed immediately when he received the letter from Darcus.

Things were not supposed to escalate to this point but he guessed he had no choice but to dance to the music that had been played.

It was all Daston's fault. He was already on his way to achieving his plans until he was intercepted by the fool who called himself a friend and a business partner and now he had to pay dearly for it.

What he wouldn't give to have the luxury of not being in the bad books with such a man! It would be a luxury that everybody had underrated and he didn't even know how to begin his defense.

Everything that he said was going to be used against him as much as they could, and he would have to start thinking about the best way to figure it out before anyone got their hands on that piece of information.

Lucinda's POV. My mind was more unsettled than I had ever experienced it and as much as I tried to make sure that I didn't keep worrying about anything I ended up failing.I didn't think that answering the question was even the greatest challenge, instead it was making sure that I had the same amount of affection which I had with him in the first place instead of just waiting and looking around.I decided to go ahead and find a solution for my problems instead of asking my husband what the hell was going on because it looks like he wasn't around to start telling me the truth. Nobody pissed me off like an angry Darcus. So many things we are wrong at the same time and I was more than elated to iron things out but at what cost? It was evident that everybody who had the opportunity to come close to me would realize that there was a hiccup somewhere. It was something that I didn't even want to talk about no matter how much I tried to but at the same time I was still very skeptical abou

Lucinda's POV. Detainment hadn't been a wonderful thing that will make me very excited or happy that I had my life going together, yet if killian thoughts that it was going to make me remain here then he had another thing coming for himself but at the same time I wouldn't even blame him for whatever actions he decided to take. I had taken it upon myself to make sure that there will be no distractions whatsoever but I also understood that sometimes it took a lot of effort to make people understand that they didn't mean as much as they wanted to. "He is going to be mad at you but the time he finds out that you have been nothing but a fraud all along. I believe that he would not hesitate in casting you out!" Killian called after me as I moved out That was the statement of every loser trying to use one's fear against them in hopes that they would be able to achieve their goals but not me. As far as I was concerned I knew that I didn't owe anyone any explanation and everything that I

Lucinda's POV. I hesitated slightly about what was already going on but decided to go ahead regardless of whatever I felt. I didn't want Killian having any power over me if I refused to move closer because I knew he was going to gloat. "Where are you heading to again?" "I want to meet up with someone. I will be back before you know it." I kissed Darcus on the lips. I didn't plan to stay so long and get over this but I knew that it couldn't be as Swift as I expected it to be because of the nature of Killian. That man always wanted me to be angry at him and I didn't know what else to do to make sure that everything was right. *I arrived at our preferred destination and watched. Nobody had the right to come close and command me to do what I didn't want to do and if I was given a person the opportunity it was simply because I wanted to and not the other way around. "I never knew you were going to show up. If I knew that it only took one phone call to get you running back to me I

Lucinda's POV. I had absolutely no idea of what had been said behind my back but I knew that it was something sensitive because of the way Darcus responded to me after he came out of that interrogation room. I could only hope that nothing bad had been said behind my back because then that would get me in my feelings and I wouldn't know what to say or do to help myself out of this mess. It was also going to be a disaster if I was not able to prove that there had been little changes in what I had claimed to be but at the same time, I was very consistent about what should have made more sense. I hated the fact that I had to continue this way and pretend like everything was fine when truly deep down it wasn't and I was just winging it. I also wanted to ensure that there was never going to be any form of destruction whatsoever but at the same time I still wanted to see how fast this could go. I had an idea of how I wanted things to go but not at the detriment of my own kids. I contem

Darcus' POV. I saw the way Lucinda's shoulder stiffened as soon as those claims were made and they had me wondering if they were in any way through and why had she decided to keep this away from me when I could have also been in the know."What are the both of you talking about?" I strolled into the interrogation room even though I wanted to know what exactly this conversation was going to lead to and from her stance, I knew I wasn't going to get a wonderful answer. Walter burst into laughter, staring at Lucinda who looked red-faced but immediately switched her demeanor to look like she had been slighted. "Do not mind this drunk. He is looking for ways to tarnish my image but that's not going to work. He has been bragging that you would not be able to do a thing about the issues at hand and I have told him that he is nothing but a fool. I would leave you with him to continue. I hope that you do not listen to any lies he has to say." She spoke, kissed me on the cheek and walked away
