Book 2: Chapter 21

Osiris POV

I don't know what I thought was going to happen when I touched Willow's hand. I thought maybe her blue eyes would begin to glow, and I would feel some sort of power exchange between us. But that is not what happened.

I don't know why I expected the experience to be different than what I saw in the elevator, but I did. I expected it to be some intimate experience between the two of us. For some reason, I thought whatever was exchanged between us would make her realize I am her mate.

When I finally managed to slide my finger under hers, Willow's eyes rolled back in her head, and her body went rigid. I panicked. I laced my fingers with hers and just held her hand for several minutes. I kept waiting for her to wake up. Tears rolls down her cheeks as I held her hand. It was then that I realized holding her hand wasn't going to help her wake up any faster.
