"Absolutely not," I scream. "I am not leaving, I refuse to run."

"Don't think of it as running," my mother tries her best to reason with me. "Think of it as protecting the rest of Lycan City from another rogue attack."

"So I am just supposed to run to the Red River Pack and put them in danger?" I scoff. "They are far less equipped to deal with these kinds of attacks. There has to be a better solution."

My mother draws her bottom lip in between her teeth and I can see that she is deep in thought. She knows as well as I do that sending Ward and me to another pack is not the answer.
