Snow is falling lightly as we cross out of the borders of Lycan City. Ward keeps checking the rearview mirror as if he is expecting someone to find us. I press my head against the cool window of the black car as it runs quietly down the road. It is a lot different than Ward's mustang and I find myself missing it.

"Where is your mustang?" I ask curiously.

Ward's knuckles tighten on the steering wheel. "It is too noticeable. We had to leave it behind."

"Oh," I say quietly.

I lay my head back against the window and watch the snow fall. It would truly be a beautiful sight if I wasn't so ridden with anxiety at the moment. The amulet hums against my skin and the feeling is making me tired. I close my eyes and let the hum lull me off to sleep.
