“How much longer before we get there!” My patience was waning thin. We’ve been driving for hours already and this car was too small for my huge frame. We were supposed to be there hours ago but thanks to Benji, he managed to get us completely lost. I told him to just use the damn GPS, but this moron swore by the Moon Goddess that he could read a fucking map. ‘Why did you choose this dip shit to ride with?’ Amos growled. ‘He was the more discreet option! If anyone recognized Cyrus, then it would have given away my identity!’ I grumbled back. We were supposed to be visiting the Silver Moon Pack to get a better feel of who we were forming an alliance with. With the war between the witches, we needed trustworthy allies. The last thing I needed was to join forces with a power hungry pack leader with an inferiority complex. I am responsible for all Lycan’s. I am their king. I had no room for error. If I trusted the wrong person, that could cripple my people. Our numbers weren’t very big thanks to the last war with the witches. That last attack came from out of nowhere. We were hit while we were celebrating a sacred holiday. I lost a lot of great warriors that day. The pack was still recovering from it. It was crucial that any alliance I made moving forward was concrete. Alpha Cane had his beta reach out requesting an audience with me. I figured it would be better if I checked the pack out myself before I accepted his request. I wouldn’t know if it was a good alliance based off of that meeting alone. I needed to visit their pack. Get a feel of who they were before they had time to adjust their behaviors based off of me. “Um, we should be here now, your majesty. The map is showing we should be here now.” Benji’s voice pulled me from my thoughts. I looked at the back of his head with annoyance. “You better be fucking right!” I growled. I looked out the window, half expecting to see something. Anything. But there was nothing here. My eyes darkened as Amos brewed to the surface. “What the fuck, Benji! There’s nothing here!” My patience had officially expired and I needed to get out of this piece of shit car before Amos ripped right through it. I exited the car, slamming the door. Amos was angry and needed to run. He hated small spaces just as much as I did. I walked towards the trees and pulled my clothes off. I couldn’t afford to ruin them. I didn’t entend on shifting and didn’t pack another set. Amos was huge. I was rather large myself being 6’4 but my lycan stood close to 8 feet tall. I felt quite proud of that. He’s the largest lycan in documented history. Even larger than my father’s lycan who stood at 7’6 feet. I sat back and allowed Amos to take control. The feeling of letting your beast take the lead was freeing, well, after you got used to the pain of shifting. I relaxed as he swing from tree to tree, shaking any small animals from their resting places in his path. He jumped down and readied himself to run when the most beautiful scent caressed our nostrils. It was faint, but the warm smell of amber and vanilla flooded our airways making it impossible to ignore. ‘Could this be?’ I asked as Amos moved towards the smell. The closer he moved, the stronger the scent became. There was not doubt about it. This was our “Mate.” We both spoke in unison. Amos looked around frantically. We were unable to locate them. ‘Mate!’ Amos growled as he frantically ran around in what appeared to be circles. The scent was everywhere and yet we couldn’t find anyone. ‘How is that possible?’ I asked. ‘She’s close I know it, but where?’ Amos spoke. Our mate’s scent was strongest around this old oak tree. Amos climbed it in hopes of finding our mate, but was at a loss when there was no one. ‘Wait! The ground!’ Amos immediately stuck his nose to the soil. ‘She’s buried!’ I barked. With quick claws, Amos dug away the ground. He halted as the scent of iron mangled with our mates scent and for the first time in my life, I felt fear. ‘Stop! Let me! You might hurt her more!’ I ordered and he immediately gave me back control. With desperate hands, I scraped the dirt away until I finally reached what felt like a hard surface. I dug and dug until I finally could see what it was. The tree’s roots were formed into some kind of egg. It appeared to be protecting whoever was inside. I used my strength to pry it apart and to my surprise, it was pretty easy. My breath caught as I looked down at the woman who was lying inside. She was absolutely breath taking. A sleeping beauty. Her long chocolate colored hair spread around her. Her eye lids were dressed with thick, long lashes and her nose was the cutest little button. Her facial features were something out of a magazine and her lips were full and plump. ‘The Moon Goddess favors us! She’s beautiful’ Amos spoke proudly. ‘Yes, but she’s human.’ ‘Doesn’t matter, she’s ours’ I examined her further. Rage filled my chest once my eyes gravitated towards her side. She was bleeding badly. Panic filled my veins once my ears picked up on how shallow her breathing was and her low heart rate. ‘We need to get back to the car, now!’ I barked and without hesitation, Amos took over. He gently cradled her to his chest in one arm as he swung from tree to tree with his other. Benji was standing outside of the car scratching his head looking confused when we reached him. “Your majesty, I must have-“ he stopped talking mid sentence when he noticed I was completely naked holding onto a what seemed to be lifeless woman. “We need to get back to the castle, now!” I order as I gently put her inside of the back seat and climbed in after her. Benji looked on puzzled. “Now!” I yelled, snapping him back to his senses. Thankfully, he didn’t argue this time and used the fucking GPS. After a thirty minute car ride, we made our way back to the castle. I didn’t give a shit I was completely naked as I carried her through the castle’s doors. I immediately called for Hannah. She was the packs doctor. ‘Quickly, to the infirmary!” She barked and ran ahead of me. I followed after, ignoring Cyrus’s offer to take her while I got dressed. There was no way in hell I was letting her go right now. It had taken me so long to find my mate, and to have found her in a state like this, I couldn’t leave her side. Once I reached the infirmary, Hannah had the bed ready for her and motioned for me to put her down. Gently, I placed her on her back, and Hannah immediately got to work. “I’m gonna need space, my king.” Hannah looked up at me with concern. Amos was pacing back and forth in my head. I stepped back, allowing her the space. When she turned to me again, she looked to me with cautious eyes. “My king, this may take a minute. Why don’t you get dressed and come back?” I heard her words but all I could do was look at my mate. “Your majesty.” Cyrus rested his hand on my shoulder. Nodding, I left the infirmary.Thank you for reading my book so far! I will continue to work hard on it and I hope you are enjoying so far. Aron's POVI tried to keep my voice steady, like I didn't care, but I knew my heart was pounding loud enough for him to hear. He exhaled, slow and deep."I know you don’t like me, and have good reason. But why take it out on Ana?” His words were like daggers to my heart.“I’m not taking it out on her!” I snapped, and immediately got annoyed with how I sounded. His face remained neutral. It made me want to hit him even more.“No?” Was all he said, yet it felt like being disciplined by a parent.I opened my mouth to say something back, but I he wasn’t lying. I was taking it out on her.“The longer you take to accept what is, the harder this will be on both of you." There was a strange softness to his voice that made me hate him even more for having it."As much as you may think it, I didn’t take her from you."I snorted. I knew he was right, but I wasn't about to say it out loud. I let the silence stretch, then side eyed him.“You didn't have to,” I muttered.“If she was gonna choose yo
Anastasia’s POVHe stood near the back longer than necessary. As if debating whether to even approach at all.Dom felt the shift in me immediately, and he stepped closer, allowing his body to press up against me.Aaron finally stepped forward. He looked taller today. I could feel his discomfort warping around me like a clammy hand. His shoulders were stiff with forced composure and his jaw was set like he was bracing for something. He stopped in front of me, and for a moment, neither one of us spoke. He looked up at Dom, his red eyes glowing brighter than normal before he looked back at me. “Blessed be,” he said quietly, extending his arm to me.I grabbed hold of his forearm and pressed my forehead to his just as I did everyone else. I could feel the relief this gave him mixed in with his anger.I swallowed past the thickness in my throat. He may have said hurtful things, but he was still my baby brother, and I loved him just as much as the baby that was growing inside of me.“Blesse
Anastasia's POVDom’s thumb brushed over my knuckles, sending comfort waves to my core. He hadn’t released my hand since we left our room. Not once. His body stayed half a step behind mine, angled slightly outward, allowing me to lead. The covens eyes gravitated in his direction. I expected to feel their distain or discomfort from his presence, but to my surprise, there was none. Well, none except one. Aron. I could single him out without problem. Although the stood in the back, hidden by others, I could feel him there. I straightened my shoulders, ignoring the faint ache beneath my ribs, and tried to ignore him. I didn't want to focus too much on him right now. The coven suffered enough. I couldn't let them see me anything other than healthy and strong.“Merry meet,” I said, my voice coming out more stable than I expected."The night of the blood moon was unexpected," I start, unsure exactly on what to say. They all listened intently, only making the reality of my role painfully cl
Dom's POVEvery muscle in my body tightened and quivered, and all I could do was feel. I could feel her need, her desires being met just as mine. Her moans mixed with mine as every tiny movement of the water stroked a nerve that pulled me closer to the edge.Fuuuck... this was hot. I was so lost in desire, awe, and pleasure, it nearly stunned me when it all collided. I could feel her orgasm match mine. It felt as if our souls became one. It twisted inside of me so fast, I felt dizzy. And yet… I wanted more. I wanted to feel every pulse of her magic, every phantom breath that matched her own. I could feel her all over me, yet she remained in the tub. This was an expericence I would remember forever. My hands were useless. My mind was useless. I was entirely, painfully aware of her, and nothing else existed.Amos whimpered softly inside me, his frustration and need mirroring my own. Just as she had her way with me, she was equally tending to him. I’ve never felt anything like it.I sa
Anastasia's POVHe looked at me now.“No one at all?” He asked. I shook my head.“Nope.” I answer.“But now. Ever since the blood moon… I can feel all of them.” I admit. His hands pause on me. I could tell he was talking to Amos, processing what I said.“You can feel all of the elements? Is that something that happens when you become a High Priestess?”“Not in any books I’ve read… but that’s not all. I can feel the Moon Goddess too.”The look he was giving me now was completely different. I couldn’t tell if he was shocked, worried, or confused. Maybe it was all three.“What does this mean?” He asked more so to himself than to me.“It means, my love.” I say cupping his face with my wet hands.“That I’m evolving” I say in a playful manner, trying to lighten the mood.“And also, I wanted to try something out. Do you trust me?”Dom's POVHer words stayed with me longer than they should have. If she truly never heard of what she was experiencing, then how could I help her? I would need to
Anastasia’s POVI woke slowly. The pain and fear I felt before had reduced significantly.Warmth wrapped around me like silk and sunlight filtered through water. My body still ached. my side a dull throb, my back stiff beneath the bandages, but the pain no longer ruled me. It was manageable. Like something I could set aside if I chose. And for the first time since the attack, I didn’t feel broken. I felt… full. Not in the way a cup is filled to its edge, but in the way the earth is full after rain. If that makes sense. I felt… settled, deep, complete. The Moon Goddess stirred inside me, almost as if she was reminding me she was there. She was a constant, steady warmth beneath my ribs, curled around my womb, protecting what was most precious.Of course. My pregnancy would invoke The Mother. One of the three phases of the Moon Goddess. In her Mother phase, she is protective, watchful, and endlessly patient.“Ana.” Dom’s soothing voice pulled me gently from my thoughts.I blinked and tur
