I stood in front of the metal bolted black door, hearing Jack Ruston struggle against the chains that held him to his chair. If I focused enough, I would see his immense body heat moving through the door, but I didn’t.

I heard footsteps approaching me from my right.

“Is this what I asked for you to set?” I asked without turning to look at Albericus who grunted out a yes. I nodded at him, making him walk away.

My beast grew more and more excited at the prospect of having fun now, finally having someone he was going to sink his claws into for this whole mess. I couldn’t agree more. He paced back and forth within me, lifting its head up and then looking at the black door in front of me. He lunged at it as if he was really doing it. He tried to force me to do so, but I held him back.
