The girl stayed mum and kept looking him dead in the eyes. His jaw clenched and he grabbed her finger in a brute hold. She braced herself for the pain but it never came because he stopped rather abruptly and whipped his head in the direction of the pathway.

She watched as his eyes lit up and a smile broke on his lips. "Clarke!" He said rather loudly.
