122- Tell me it's not true

CRYSTAL

I rush down the stairs with my parents as the guard leads the way to the scene. My heart's already dropped to my stomach and I'm praying with everything in me for it to be nothing serious.

I have just two days to fix this, please don't blow this up.

We approach the living room and I catch a glimpse of Ruby. The shocked look on her face only makes my heart drop and my stomach tighten so hard.

This cannot be good.

She has her eyes trained at Silver and her jaw hanging loose. He's standing just a few feet away with his fist clenched by his side and glaring at John who looks like a wet puppy on catnip.

He has no courage in his eyes as he keeps his distance from Silver but I know that look of fear that's backed up by cowardice. He's shaking but he won't let down his guard.

“What's this about?” Father asks in a bold voice as he strides in with authority.

The room is thick and heavy with tension and I've managed to get infected even as I keep my distance.

Can she finally yell and shout and tell them she wants him and left the truth come out. I almost gave up at the thought of her letting John take her away and control her yet again.
