I got up from the chair so fast that it tripped and fell to the floor with a loud thud. The door had flown open gently and in front of me was the person I had been missing for an entire day.

Our eyes met and I held his gaze. Jasper looked tired and weary. His brown hair was messy and a bit slick with sweat.

He gave me a tired smile as I kept watching him. Grace meanwhile sprang up from the table as if she had been electrocuted.

Bowing her head low, she tried to put as much distance between the table and her as if to signify that I was the one gorging on the food in both the plates.

She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and sneaked towards the wall, trying to blend with it and turn invisible.
