To say that I was stunned would be an understatement. Of all the things I would have expected to hear, this was the most bizarre.

I kept staring at Nymeria for a while but she did not say a word and let me process everything. My gaze flitted to Jasper who had stopped twitching but he was still asleep.

Nymeria walked to the other side of the dias and took a wooden bowl and filled water in it. Taking a cloth from one of the tables, she dipped it in the water and placed it on his forehead.

I observed her as she looked after him like a nurse would care for a sick person.

“So…your mother…does Jasper know?” I asked not sure of what question to ask first. Nymeria dabbed the cloth on his forehead and checked his temperature before answering,

“Yes, he knows. I apologized many times on behalf of my mother and everything she did but he only kept saying that I was not at fault for whatever my mother did to him.”
