Failing to sense the impending danger that loomed over him, Dawson shrugged the pain and glared at the bodyguard. Then he looked up at Grant, his gaze cold and defiant.

“My mate. I have come to take her back. You had no right to take her away just because she is a Hawthorne,” He said with so much confidence that if Grant did not know any better, he would have doubted himself if he was truly Esme's fated mate.

He found it laughable that Dawson was so bold as to claim Esme as his mate. But Grant may have thought it laughable. The same couldn't be said for his beast, who was raging inside him.
