Chapter 22 - Where Is She?

Marly POV

I felt the pain in my head. Throbbing, making me feel nauseous. I tried to sit up, but I realized I was tied down with something. I tried to open my eyes, but my eyelids were heavy. Like they were weighted down. I tried to connect with Layla, my wolf, but I was met with silence.

“She should not wake up for a couple hours. We are fine to leave her alone,” the voice said. I struggled to open my eyes. I was certain I recognized the voice but the fogginess in my brain was preventing me from putting my finger on who it was. Why was the voice so familiar and why did a chill run down my spine?

I must have passed out again from the pain. I woke again, feeling a bit better. I was not feeling sick anymore, and I felt a little more alert this time. I slowly peeled my eyes open and was met with a room that was darkening. There was a window in the room, and I could see that the day was turning to night.
