Lilian's Pov

I could hear my heart pounding loudly in my chest as I sat in my room. Tears were streaming down my face and I couldn't stop them no matter how hard I tried. The thought of Raquel coming to the palace as Liam's wife was unbearable. I had hoped that Liam would never agree to the marriage, but now it was too late.

I couldn't imagine going back to being a slave again. The mere thought of it filled me with dread and despair. I had come so far, from being a lowly slave to being treated as a human being, and I was not ready to lose that. I felt like I was drowning in my own fears and doubts, unsure of what my future held.

Just then, my maid walked into the room, and I tried to wipe away my tears quickly. I didn't want her to see me in this state, but it was too late. She came over and sat next to me, holding my hand in hers.

"Liliana, everything is going to be alright," she said in a soothing voice.
