Chapter 5

I’m not sure what happened next. All I could focus on was the lycan’s cool touch against my burning skin. “It’s going to be okay,” he told me in a soft, comforting tone. He was again cradling me in his arms.

A moment later, he laid me down on a bed. The sheets were soft and cool against my heated skin. The slave part of me wanted to protest against him putting me here. I’d ruin these nice sheets with all my sweat. Yet, I didn’t have the strength to utter a word.

The lycan took my face in his hands, tilting it so I would look him in the eyes. “This is the only way. I’m sorry. Sex is the only way to we can quickly burn these drugs out of your system safely.”

My eyes widened. Did he just say… My mouth was dry and it was hard to swallow. Did this mean that we were going to… He’d want that from me? But I was no one and I was cute on a good day maybe… Yet as his dark eyes held me, I didn’t miss the spark of desire in them. Once more, I swallowed and gave him a small nod.

His face lowered closer to mine and he pressed his lips against mine. The heat in my lower belly exploded into an inferno as the kiss deepen and our tongues met.  His fingers began tracing the line of my jaw in feather soft movements down to my neck. One hand slid to the back of my neck, holding me in place, yet I didn’t feel trapped. I felt protected.

The other removed my shirt and exposing my overheated skin to the cooler air. A soft moan escaped me as he cupped my breast, teasing my nipple between his fingers. Our kiss ended as his attention turned to removing the remainder of my clothes. Once mine were gone, he removed his clothes.

I couldn’t help but watch as the most beautiful body I’d ever seen was slowly exposed to me. He was like something straight out of legend. A legend that promised only wicked delights. My stomach tightened and a rush of even more heat burned through me.

Once more capturing my eyes with his, the lycan lowered himself over me.

His touch was demanding yet gentle as he positioned himself between my legs. His mouth fell on mine as he slowly slid inside me. I gasped into our kiss. The sensation was something I’d never felt before. As if sensing this the lycan paused once he was fully inside me. He continued to kiss and hold me as I adjusted. Once I was relaxed he slowly began to make love to me.

I closed my eyes letting the sensations he elicited from my body wash over me. It had been so long since someone had been this gentle, this kind, and maybe even this loving to me. The warmth grew hotter inside me, but it no longer burned me, but uplifted me. I felt as if my soul was finally free to fly.

The lycan’s arms wrapped around me, holding me tightly as our bodies tightened around each other. With a cry, I reached my climax and a wave of pleasure that I’d never felt before washed over. The lycan soon followed with a loud, triumphant growl like a wolf who had claimed his prey.

The lycan fell to my side and wrapped his arms around me. Pulling to his chest, he nestled into the back of my neck. “Rest,” he whispered into my ear. I closed my eyes, my body exhausted but now calm, and fell asleep.

Feeling rested, but a little sore, I opened my eyes, looking at the early dawn light through a large window. A wave of panic hit me. This wasn’t my room! I started to move when I felt someone move next to me. I froze and looked over. The lycan? It all came back to me in a rush. The lycan. We had… slept together last night. My cheeks warmed and my lower belly tightened at the memory. So that had really happened.

Someone had drugged me and… a lot of that night was fragmented and hard to remember and it made my head hurt when I tried. What I did remember before the lycan showed up scared me and my stomach turned. Thank the goddess, the lycan intervene when he did.

I looked out the window again and realized if it was dawn then I was late! My uncle insisted breakfast always be ready when he gets up in the morning. He was going to be furious with me! Careful as to not wake the lycan, I dressed and hurried out of the room. My jaw dropped as I rushed through the lycan’s house. People weren’t lying when they said he was rich! I’d never seen anything like this except in movies.

The lycan’s house was a lot farther from Uncle Aaron’s house and even jogging it took me an hour and half to get home. My throat tightened as I opened the door. My uncle was going to punish me big time for this.  As soon as I walked into the living room, I stopped short. My uncle, aunt, Fiona, her mate, and that guy Craig were all there staring at me.

“Well, look who finally decided to show up,” my aunt said, giving me a look as if I had just dumped yesterday’s trash on her floor.

“I guess you and this omega had a lot of fun last night,” Fiona said, crossing her arms with a smirk. It was her. She had been the one to drug me. Of course, it was her. Who else would go out of their way to hurt me. “Well, since you like hanging out with omegas you two are perfectly matched.”

“Slut,” her mate said in a loud whisper that was obviously intended for me to hear.

Craig gave me a sneer, and his muddy brown eyes promised he was going to finish what he started last night.

My heart clenched. He was never going to touch me. “I…” I said, starting to deny that we had slept with each other, but what would I tell them? That the lycan took me home? They’d never believe me. And what about the lycan? Did he want people to know he took me, a lowly slave, home? After taking care of me and doing…well, all that he did, I didn’t want to make him angry.

“I…” I started again, but this time the door bell cut me off.

My uncle glared at me as he growled, “what is it now?” Yet his anger dissipated as soon as he opened the door. A large man well-dressed in a business casual style suit stood there. He wasn’t one of our pack members, nor had I ever seen him before. Though, my uncle must have because his whole demeanor changed.

“Ah, you’re one of the Lycan’s men,” Uncle Aaron said, offering the man a friendly smile.

The Lycan’s men? What was he doing here? Oh, no. Was I in trouble?

“Sorry, you have caught me at a bit of an inconvenient time,” my uncle told him. “Is this important?”

“I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t,” the man replied. “Is this where Sheila McClay lives?”

My heart jumped to my throat. Me? He was asking for me? Oh, this can’t be good. Everyone’s eyes fell on me as my uncle, a lot less politely, said, “Yes it is.”

“Good,” the man said and moved past my father and into the room.

The man's eyes met mine. “Miss Sheila, Lycan Denzel requested that you join him for lunch.”

“What?” Everyone yelled in unison, their eyes falling on me.
