Damian Hail and the others in the board meeting stared at the only empty seat left in the room. His knuckles tapped against the mahogany table, a shallow rhythm that betrayed his building anxiety. The board was restless. Their eyes flicked between their phones, the entrance, and each other.

“Who’s this late investor again?” one of the board members whispered to another.

“No idea. Not on the registry. Just… a name. No face.”

The murmurs grew. So did the dread.

Damian gritted his teeth. Whatever name he scribbled on the guest list to pacify the committee wasn’t adding up anymore. The identity of the new stakeholder had been deliberately kept vague—and now that the time had come, no one knew who was about to walk through the door.

Then chaos rippled up from the lower floors.

Security radios buzzed erratically. People were rising from their desks, craning their necks to catch a glimpse of the storm rolling in. Screams, flashing lights, and the unmistakable chaos that followed power.

  • The Mafia Devil's Princess   The Safe

As the boardroom meeting continued with icy pleasantries and false smiles, I quietly excused myself, murmuring something about needing air. No one questioned me—not after the bomb Sebastian just dropped. He had them all trembling in their tailored suits. But I had my own move to make. This was it. My moment. No more delays. No more fear.I kept my strides quick and silent, heels muffled against the thick Eboncorp carpet. My father’s office—once the heart of this empire—sat just down the corridor, usurped and bastardized by the man who stole it from me.Damian.My chest tightened. Just thinking of him behind my father’s desk, sitting in the chair of a man he never deserved to breathe near—let alone replace—made bile rise in my throat.I was just steps away when—“Excuse me, miss.”A clipped voice halted me. One of Damian’s secretaries rounded the corner, eyes narrowing with suspicion.Shit.I wasn’t supposed to be seen near this floor, especially not unaccompanied. My mind raced for a

  • The Mafia Devil's Princess   A Semblance of Peaceful Life

I woke up with my body all sore. The rays of sunlight burned my eyes as I opened them. Struggling to get up, I search my eyes on the apartment only to see Sebastian in the kitchen, his back to me.He turned around with a smile on his face. “Up already?”I looked around the bedroom. I expected it to be thrashed, clothes all over the floor. But to my surprise, it wasn’t. Our clothes were folded neatly on the side of the bed. He had cleaned my room and prepared breakfast for both of us.“I had to use what was left in your fridge,” he told me while serving his plate on a small bedside table, which he carried onto my lap. “Is this all you eat every day?”I pursed my lips and looked away. How do I tell him that I was struggling?“I’ll have my assistant bring over some clothes for you.” I stared at him. He was still undressed and only with pants on. I looked at my own self. I had nothing on but a blanket. I could feel the blush escaping my cheeks as I realized the events that transpired th

“Sebastian. You need to go home.”I had to push him out of my apartment because he didn’t want to leave. He thinks that if I left him for a night, he wouldn’t be able to see me again in the morning, and I find that completely ridiculous.“I don’t want to…”“Come on! I have work tomorrow!” I sighed at him. “And I can’t possibly let you stay in here either. The bed’s too small.”“Still, that didn’t stop us from sleeping together before—“I palmed my face.Ugh, why is he being so hard-headed?“If you won’t leave, then I will.” I crossed my arms across my chest. He rolled his eyes and pouted, “Fine. I’ll pick you up tomorrow.”“Tomorrow?” I raised an eyebrow. “I… have a day off tomorrow.”He pinched my nose, and I glared at him. “Do you want to infiltrate Eboncorp or not?”My eyes widened, surprised. “W-Wait… you have a plan already?”“I’m a shareholder,” he tells me, which even surprised me more. “YOU’RE A WHAT—““Since you asked for help from me a long time ago, I bought stocks in the

Sebastian and I finally had our first proper conversation after many years. There was still awkwardness between us, but for some reason, I felt like a thorn had been lifted from me.I’m back in Noir. Was it pointless for me to leave Sebastian?Perhaps, it was.But if it weren’t for that moment, he wouldn’t have realized that he loved me back, too. It was hard to say the same thing. To tell him that I still loved him when my heart had become so distant and betrayed. I thought it was ridiculous that Sebastian didn’t care if I loved him when I was about to use him.He was already to late in realizing it.“Kierra?” one of my coworkers tapped my shoulder as she realized I had been dissociating with the walls. I snapped back right into reality.“You okay?”“Oh… uhm…” I massaged my head for a moment. “Yeah, I’m fine.” “Are you not going to clock out?” she then nudged her chin toward the empty offices. “Everyone’s left already. Are you planning to work overtime?”“Oh, no, no!” I panickedly

  • The Mafia Devil's Princess   When the Devil Pleads

“Sebastian, I need you.”It wasn’t the words I intended to say. It came out so wrong. It sounded so desperate I wanted to cry. The silence between him and me was choking. Please, say something. He looked at me with a wistful gaze. I waited for him to say something, but I guess he was just as surprised that I had the hootspa to even come in there. To even demand his help even after the pushing away I did for him.“I… need help in entering Eboncorp, and you’re my only chance. You’re the only one who can make it happen in the blink of an eye.” Sebastian stares back at me.“And what do I get from all of this?” I moistened my throat, “I’ll pay you.”“With what?” his voice now sounded amused. “You have nothing, Kierra. Don’t tell me you’re going to—““Me.” There was a moment of silence between us. Sebastian was stunned, unable to reply. I too was more than shameful to offer myself as collateral. But I have nothing else to give.“Kierra, do you understand what you’re saying?”“I do.” I w
