My mind was all over the place.

Tonight, I am donned in a beautiful rose dress as I am about to enter an event related to the hospital. To be honest, I didn’t know much about the event other than a small celebration of stakeholders and the launch of new programs.

It was publicity.

The night began to deepen, and the distinct chattering of guests filled the loud halls, accompanied by rich laughter and soothing music. I didn’t enjoy the event that much, nor did I have the appetite to even eat my food.

I was alone at the table. I was new to the workplace, so it was understandable that people didn’t want to hang out with me.

I grabbed my phone from my purse and then dialed Alessio’s number.

I needed to look busy, not miserable. What would people think? I already look like a loner enough.

When Alessio didn’t answer the phone, it came to my mind to leave the party. My other coworkers looked at me worriedly.

“Not enjoying that much, Dr.?”

I fake a smile, “No, sorry… I didn’t have that muc

  • The Mafia Devil's Princess   A Venomous Return

I ran across the rain in my gown on. Once again, I felt pathetic for having my ass saved by Sebastian over and over again. I felt even more hatred for myself that I let Selene drag me like that into the eyes of the crowd.“My god, when will this end?” I sobbed my heart out as the rain drenched with it. At least, I am one with the rain. I find my solace in a small park. I sat across one of the swings, eyes distant into the pitter patters of rushing water. The thick fog settled around me, concealing me from the rest of the world.Everyone in the hospital must be talking about me now. How do I even have the face to show them? I’d just started my career and now this? All of a sudden, I hear footsteps in the rain. I shot my head up as a silhouette appears beyond the fog.“Who’s there?!” I shouted at the man. But it only stared at me from the distance. Then I feel it.Pure fear.I stood up, focusing my gaze on the blurring silhouette. He stares back, as if waiting for me to make a move.“

  • The Mafia Devil's Princess   Humiliation

Selene’s eyes glimmered with malice, lips curled in satisfaction as I stood there frozen, suffocating under the weight of everything she had just said.“I want you gone,” she repeated, her voice low and seething. “For good this time.”Then, before I could react, she grabbed my wrist.“Let go of me!” I yelled, trying to wriggle free from her grip, but her claws only dug deeper into my arm.“You’re coming with me,” Selene hissed, dragging me out of the restroom and back into the main hall of the event. “It’s about time these people know the kind of woman you really are.”My heels scraped the polished floor as I resisted her, but she was determined—fueled by a venomous pride. No one even looked our way. Not one of the so-called prestigious guests dared intervene. They probably thought we were just some emotional coworkers having a catfight. She marched me toward the center of the room, her arm looped tightly around mine now as if we were friends, but her fingers continued to bruise me be

“What are you talking about?” I confronted her with creased brows and a thumping heart. “They’ve transferred ownership already to their names behind my back.”“I know,” she stepped forward. “And you have me as your witness. I was there when the documents were forged.”I shut my eyes and I could swear I felt a tear roll down my cheek, “And you didn’t bother to stop them?”“Kierra, the Hails were in control.
