เข้าสู่ระบบKaiden: We reach the club in record time. I get out of the car and head towards the back where Ivan is waiting. "You got your eye on him?" I ask as an introduction. "Thank you, Ivan for pulling my head out of my ass by finding Kostas," he replies sarcastically. I roll my eyes at the attitude. "Is he here or not?" "Last I checked." Ivan runs his eyes over my frame, no doubt noticing the weapons strapped on my person. "That's a bit much, don't you think?" He frowns in disapproval. "Don't ask me to save you when there's a gun to your head," I cross my arms stubbornly. We have no idea what we are walking into and I would prefer to be prepared than have another bullet in my gut. "Maybe they'll think we're bouncers for some high end celebrity or some shit." I explain but I honestly could not care less. The time for caring has long passed and I'm tired of feeling like a fool who doesn't know how to manage his business. Someone clears their throat behind me and I look ov
I lead Daisy outside. Through the gardens and outside the fence. Her steps slow down as we approach the forest. I quirk an eyebrow at her over my shoulder and she lifts one in response, distrust shining in the deep pools of her eyes. Scoffing out a laugh I ask, "Really? You think I'm going to kill you. Here, of all places." "I don't know, Kaiden." She throws her hands up in frustration. "You brought me out to a forest of all places, for shooting lessons and no one else is in sight." Daisy ends her words with a glare. I roll my eyes at the dramatics and tug the gun from my waistband, handing it to her with the barrel facing me. She eyes the revolver, her mouth turning down when I shake it at her before she takes it from my hand. "Familiarise yourself with it," I instruct. I turn from her and walk to a tree a few paces in front. "Then shoot at this tree and try to hit it." At that, Daisy pins me with an incredulous look. "Gee thanks, that was really helpful Kaiden."
Daisy: I make my way back to Kaiden's room, determined to wait him out and request the keys to the locked rooms. How does he expect me to get information when I can't access most of the mansion? A door opens below me from the end of the hall as I climb the stairs. Peeking over the bannister, I see Kaiden stride out with one of his men trailing behind him. Andreas. Kaiden whispers something and Andreas nods before walking off. His suit jacket is thrown over his shoulder and as he approaches the stairs I notice that his shirt is unbuttoned all the way. My eyes immediately latch onto the display of muscles. They flex and move fluidly as he walks and I crane my neck to catch the movement. He reaches the end of the stairs and our gazes meet. Kaiden arches an amused brow at my obvious ogling and I lift my chin unashamedly. My feet remain planted a few steps above him as he approaches, coming to a stop before me. With my view obstructed by his face, I take note of a speck of
Kaiden: I kill the ignition and step out of the car. Andreas is waiting, on his face is a pinched expression. To find Erebus, I have decided to separate my most trusted associates within Kyklos. Giving each of them specific assignments at given times. Andreas is vetting his men. As the head of security, the fact that Erebus has such a sway over the security personnel of Kyklos puts his authority under my scrutiny. Recently, he reported suspicious movement in one of my lesser-used warehouses. I had forgotten about this one, truthfully. It was one of my father's favourite spots to carry out torture and eventually murder. A vast expanse of land stretched out on either side of it. When I became heir, I decided that travelling such a distance for torture was tedious. Why come all the way here, when I have a basement at home or the network of tunnels under Blackbird? So this little gem faded to the back of my mind. How careless of me. Noticing that I've been silent all thi
Daisy: After leaving the garden, I wander around the house for a bit. Trying to twist open doors and memorising the dips and turns. "Locked," I murmur, letting my fingers slip from the door to the room I was unsuccessfully attempting to gain entrance into. I forge ahead, my fingers trailing along the wall. I notice some of Kaiden's men at the end of the hallway engaging in a hushed conversation. It ends abruptly as I walk closer. Feeling awkward at their stares, I offer them a strained smile. Their faces remain stoic so I scramble passed them. I roll my eyes in response. Gaining the freedom to roam the house hasn't proven to be as exciting as I thought. Not when most doors are locked. How are we supposed to work together when I can't find anything useful? My eavesdropping skills could use some work too. I grimace at the thought. My feet come to a stop when I hear a voice. The person seems tense as he carries on the conversation. Not wanting to be discovered, I thread close
Daisy: I watch Ivan walk away and lift a confused brow at Kaiden. "Erebus blew up one of his warehouses," Kaiden answers my unspoken question. He blows out a long breath while running his fingers through his hair in frustration. "What are we going to do?" I ask, noting how his eyes widen in surprise when I say 'we'. "We made a deal, Ivan and I. Since his warehouse was attacked, he now has a personal grudge against Erebus. He is going to help me track him down in exchange for a favour," Kaiden replies reluctantly. "What kind of favour?" I probe, unwilling to back down. He is the one that suggested we work together and I am determined to get all the information I can pull out of him. Kaiden remains silent, drawing it out in a way that I know is deliberate. I fold my arms over my chest and pin him with a glare. He grabs my arm and tugs me to the couch, urging me to sit. I relent and he sits down beside me. "In exchange for full access to Kyklos whenever he needs it."
