CHAPTER 2

Della's POV

The following morning, I awaken to somebody jabbing my cheek. I gradually open my eyes and squint multiple times to allow them to acclimate to the brilliant light. Damn, I truly need to get a few shades soon.

"Mommy?" Daisy calls out to me in a soft tone.

"Yeah, bubbles?" I question while yawning and extending my arms over my head.

"I'm starving, mother." She tells me while tapping her stomach and gazing toward me with her guiltless eyes.

Before I left California with Daisy, I tried to take his cash that was all ineffectively concealed in the house. It would've been futile as far as we're concerned to leave while being destitute. The cash that I took from him was all that anyone could need to get us by for a couple of months.

I gave her a little grin and sat up, "You need to get some morning meal before we go out to shop for shopping?"

She gestures anxiously and I wash up with her prior to putting on something else and heading towards the vehicle.

I stroll into the shopping center, holding Daisy's hand firmly after we had breakfast. I chose to get her a few change of clothes and shoes first before we went ahead to purchase furniture.

After I got her all that she really had need for, we strolled into a dress store for myself and I began going through the garments.

As we were strolling back to our vehicle with our hands brimming with sacks, a man out of nowhere stopped before me which made me halt abruptly. Daisy moved to take cover behind my right leg.

"Hello." He said while checking me out.

"I'm not intrigued." I told him as I took a stab at strolling around him.

He snatched my arm with a firm grasp and pulled me to his chest while he wound his other arm around my midsection.

"Leave me alone." I spoke gently through gritted teeth.

I would have rather not start a fight with him before Daisy. She's seen enough and I would have rather not put her through any more pain.

He brought down his face towards mine, leaving just inches apart, "I don’t take a hard pass. For what reason would you say you are making this hard? We could have some crazy fun just you and I."

"Mom, could we leave this place now?" Daisy asked me in a hushed whisper while pulling at my shirt.

At that point, he directed his concentration toward Daisy and scrutinized her, "Can you not see that I'm having some important discussion with your mother?"

I muttered all my strength and as hard as possible, I kneed him in his groin, making him moan and eliminate his hands from my body.

"Try not to converse with my girl that way, poop hole!" I moved closer to him and let him know furiously in his ear prior to driving him away. I snatch Daisy's hand and walk quick back to my vehicle.

I could hear him drawing nearer, pursuing us however at that point one more voice came through, making me pivot, "Hello, Luigi. Where do you think you're going?"

A redhead with tattoos strolled up behind him, snatched his arm, and twist it over and over again.

"Fuck!" He shouted out in pain.

I held Daisy and turned her face away from the scene before us. The redhead murmured something in his ear and I saw his eyes go wide before she let him go and he went running the alternate way.

She watched him take off and when he was totally gone, she approached us and grinned.

Thank you so much, I tell while her as I finally release my breath.

"Don’t bother. I can't stand men like him." She tells me.

"You don't have any acquaintance with him?" I asked her a little bit surprised.

She paused a little before saying, "No. Never met one of the Mario siblings before today. I simply needed to certainly deal with him before driving him off from you."

"Goodness." I stop, peering down at the ground before looking at her face, "But what did you tell him that made him take off?"

I told him I would kill him and feed his body to the dogs. She says with a serious tone.

I raise an eyebrow at her and she lets out a moan. "I'm Natalie."

I chose to simply let it go and not get clarification on some things. Perhaps I'll figure out some other time when we find out about one another. She appears to be a decent woman.

"Della." I tell her and spot my arm around Daisy, "And this is my girl, Daisy."

She peers down at Daisy, grinning heartily while holding her hand out to shake and says, "Hello, darling."

Daisy expressed nothing from the start as she took a gander at the ground however after around seven seconds, she gradually gazed toward Natalie, grinned bashfully at her, and shook her hand.

Natalie lowered herself down to her level, "You have a wonderful name, Daisy."

"Thank you." Daisy answered faintly like tone.

Natalie glanced back at me and said, "We should hang out by the end of the week and get to know each other better."

Amazing, I scarcely met her and she as of now needs us to go out together. I've never had a companion before not to mention going out for no particular reason. OK, I had one however certain issues made me begin to believe that perhaps it was anything but a genuine companionship.

"Umm, I can't." I give her an apprehensive grin. "I can't let Daisy be home alone."

She looked at Daisy, then back at me saying, "yeah right but can her father watch her while you are away?"

I moved from one foot to the next and gulped down my nerves, "She doesn't have a dad."

Natalie's eyes went wide and she immediately apologized, "Please accept my apologies. I didn't mean-"

I could have read her mind.

I put a hand on her shoulder and talked, halting her mid-sentence, "No, it's OK.

She looked befuddled by my words yet I just waved a pompous hand and shook my head. I make a sound as if to speak and inquire, "Can I give you my number so the three of us can do something together?"

Natalie grinned, gestured, and hauled her cellphone out of her pocket and hand it to me. I put my name and number in and gave her back her phone. She sent me a fast smiley face and I saved her number on my phone.

"I can come by sometime in the evening. We could do a film night together and rest in." She recommended as energy streaked over her face.

I delay a little before giving her my response, "Really, we'll search for furniture after we leave. We just moved here yesterday."

She looks stunned as she looks from me and Daisy, "Would you say you are not kidding? Goodness, I can't really accept that this is your second day here."

"Definitely, it was an unexpected move. I didn't actually realize we were going to live here until we arrived." I muttered while scouring Daisy's head tenderly.

"You have no family here?" She asked inquisitively as her temples wrinkle together.

I have no family anyplace... essentially not any longer.

"Uhh, no. It's simply me and Daisy." I share with her prior to giving her my best phony grin.

She seems to be in thought briefly prior to gesturing her head and saying, "Give me your location and I'll come by sometime in the evening to help both of you get comfortable."

"It's fine-" I started saying however she halted me.

"I wasn't inquiring. Us young ladies need to stay together." She told me with a wink,

"Furthermore, you appear to be cool and your little girl is only the most delightful young lady that I have at any point seen."

I grinned and concurred, giving her my location before we headed out in a different direction. Sometime thereafter after Natalie assisted us with getting comfortable and we ate while watching a film, I washed up and take care of her in her room in the wake of singing her #1 sleep time melody to her.

Natalie and I stayed awake for some time chatting. I filled her in a little about why we moved yet I didn't tell her the full story yet. She intimated me about working with her at particular establishment. However, I told her that I needed to invest some more time with Daisy before I began working. I need to assist her with becoming acclimated to our new day to day environment.

Following a couple of additional long periods of talking and giggling, I felt nearer to her than I could possibly do with any other person previously. She wound up the remaining evening and rested on the dark sofa that I just purchased while I took off to bed.

I can perceive we will turn out to be exceptionally close. It as of now feels like I've known her since for eternity.

Laying on my bed and contemplating how beneficial things have been such a long ways in these two days, I nod off with an eased grin all over.
